Sharing God’s Love with Children in Kenya

In Newsletter Articles by Biblica Staff

Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.

– Proverbs 22:6 (NIV)

Childhood is the most formative time of our lives. It’s also when we’re most receptive to the Gospel. In the United States, nearly 85% of people who make a decision for Christ, do so between the ages of 4 and 141.

That’s why the success of our Children for Christ (C4C) program has been so exciting… and why we’re so grateful for friends like you who are helping to make it possible! Children around the world are learning God’s Word through songs, stories, skits, and fun activities. And in Kenya, the program has been especially impactful.

Biblica Kenya is equipping resource-poor churches in slums and rural areas with C4C training and resources at no cost. Through weeklong Vacation Bible School events held during school holidays, we’re reaching children across Kenya – many of whom live in poverty or have never heard that God loves them.

Here are two children whose lives have been transformed through the support of friends like you:

Meet Jaymo

At 13 years old, Jaymo had no respect for authority. He attended the C4C program but refused to participate – until a lesson on virtues changed his life. Of his own accord, Jaymo began arriving at the church early to clean. He said it was his way to serve others. Now in high school, he still has a servant heart and is an inspiration to his entire community.

Meet Anna

Anna was 12 years old when she attended C4C. At the time, she was drinking alcohol and having casual sex. She had even run away from home to live with an older man. After a week of hearing about God’s love for her, Anna gave her life to Christ. She is back at home and has turned her life around. She faithfully attends church every Sunday.

These stories of life transformation are only possible through the support of friends like you!

[Through C4C], we put Scripture in the hands of children who have never held the Bible. These churches, so very poor, want to help their children. But they need the tools. For me, this gives me such JOY! – Lydia Munene, Biblica Regional Director for East Africa
