The Tabernacle
1“Make the tabernacle with ten curtains of finely twisted linen and blue, purple and scarlet yarn, with cherubim woven into them by a skilled worker. 2All the curtains are to be the same size—twenty-eight cubits long and four cubits wide.26:2 That is, about 42 feet long and 6 feet wide or about 13 meters long and 1.8 meters wide 3Join five of the curtains together, and do the same with the other five. 4Make loops of blue material along the edge of the end curtain in one set, and do the same with the end curtain in the other set. 5Make fifty loops on one curtain and fifty loops on the end curtain of the other set, with the loops opposite each other. 6Then make fifty gold clasps and use them to fasten the curtains together so that the tabernacle is a unit.
7“Make curtains of goat hair for the tent over the tabernacle—eleven altogether. 8All eleven curtains are to be the same size—thirty cubits long and four cubits wide.26:8 That is, about 45 feet long and 6 feet wide or about 13.5 meters long and 1.8 meters wide 9Join five of the curtains together into one set and the other six into another set. Fold the sixth curtain double at the front of the tent. 10Make fifty loops along the edge of the end curtain in one set and also along the edge of the end curtain in the other set. 11Then make fifty bronze clasps and put them in the loops to fasten the tent together as a unit. 12As for the additional length of the tent curtains, the half curtain that is left over is to hang down at the rear of the tabernacle. 13The tent curtains will be a cubit26:13 That is, about 18 inches or about 45 centimeters longer on both sides; what is left will hang over the sides of the tabernacle so as to cover it. 14Make for the tent a covering of ram skins dyed red, and over that a covering of the other durable leather.26:14 Possibly the hides of large aquatic mammals (see 25:5)
15“Make upright frames of acacia wood for the tabernacle. 16Each frame is to be ten cubits long and a cubit and a half wide,26:16 That is, about 15 feet long and 2 1/4 feet wide or about 4.5 meters long and 68 centimeters wide 17with two projections set parallel to each other. Make all the frames of the tabernacle in this way. 18Make twenty frames for the south side of the tabernacle 19and make forty silver bases to go under them—two bases for each frame, one under each projection. 20For the other side, the north side of the tabernacle, make twenty frames 21and forty silver bases—two under each frame. 22Make six frames for the far end, that is, the west end of the tabernacle, 23and make two frames for the corners at the far end. 24At these two corners they must be double from the bottom all the way to the top and fitted into a single ring; both shall be like that. 25So there will be eight frames and sixteen silver bases—two under each frame.
26“Also make crossbars of acacia wood: five for the frames on one side of the tabernacle, 27five for those on the other side, and five for the frames on the west, at the far end of the tabernacle. 28The center crossbar is to extend from end to end at the middle of the frames. 29Overlay the frames with gold and make gold rings to hold the crossbars. Also overlay the crossbars with gold.
30“Set up the tabernacle according to the plan shown you on the mountain.
31“Make a curtain of blue, purple and scarlet yarn and finely twisted linen, with cherubim woven into it by a skilled worker. 32Hang it with gold hooks on four posts of acacia wood overlaid with gold and standing on four silver bases. 33Hang the curtain from the clasps and place the ark of the covenant law behind the curtain. The curtain will separate the Holy Place from the Most Holy Place. 34Put the atonement cover on the ark of the covenant law in the Most Holy Place. 35Place the table outside the curtain on the north side of the tabernacle and put the lampstand opposite it on the south side.
36“For the entrance to the tent make a curtain of blue, purple and scarlet yarn and finely twisted linen—the work of an embroiderer. 37Make gold hooks for this curtain and five posts of acacia wood overlaid with gold. And cast five bronze bases for them.

1»Haz el santuario con diez cortinas de tela de lino fino y de lana color azul, carmesí y escarlata, con querubines artísticamente bordados en ellas. 2Todas las cortinas deben medir lo mismo, es decir, veintiocho codos de largo por cuatro codos de ancho.26:2 Es decir, aprox. 13 m de largo por 2 m de ancho.
3»Cose cinco cortinas, uniendo la una con la otra; luego haz lo mismo con las otras cinco. 4En el borde superior del primer conjunto de cortinas, pon unas presillas de lana color azul, haz lo mismo en el borde del otro conjunto de cortinas. 5En la primera cortina del primer conjunto pon cincuenta presillas, y en la última cortina del segundo conjunto pon otras cincuenta presillas, de modo que las presillas se correspondan entre sí. 6Haz luego cincuenta ganchos de oro para que las cortinas queden enganchadas una con otra, de modo que el santuario tenga unidad de conjunto.
7»Haz once cortinas de pelo de cabra para cubrir el santuario a la manera de una tienda de campaña. 8Las once cortinas deben medir lo mismo, es decir, treinta codos de largo por cuatro codos de ancho.26:8 Es decir, aprox. 13 m por 1.8 m de ancho. 9Cose cinco cortinas en un conjunto y las otras seis en otro conjunto, doblando la sexta cortina en la parte frontal de la tienda.
10»Haz cincuenta presillas en el borde de la cortina con que termina el primer conjunto y otras cincuenta presillas en el borde de la cortina con que termina el segundo conjunto. 11Haz luego cincuenta ganchos de bronce y mételos en las presillas para unir la tienda del santuario para que este tenga unidad de conjunto. 12Las diez cortinas tendrán media cortina adicional, que quedará colgando a espaldas del santuario. 13A esta cortina le sobrará un codo,26:13 Es decir, aprox. 45 cm. en cada extremo, y con esa parte sobrante se cerrará el santuario.
14»Haz para la tienda un toldo de piel de carnero teñida de rojo y para la parte superior pon otro de pieles finas.
15»Prepara para el santuario unos tablones de madera de acacia y colócalos en posición vertical. 16Cada tablón debe medir diez codos de largo por un codo y medio de ancho26:16 Es decir, aprox. 4.5 m de largo por 68 cm de ancho. 17y contar con dos ranuras paralelas entre sí. Todos los tablones del santuario los harás así. 18Serán veinte los tablones para el lado sur del santuario.
19»Haz también cuarenta bases de plata que irán debajo de ellos, dos por cada tablón, una debajo de cada ranura. 20Para el lado opuesto, es decir, para el lado norte del santuario, prepararás también veinte tablones 21y cuarenta bases de plata; pon dos de esas bases debajo de cada tablón. 22Pondrás seis tablones en el lado posterior, que es el lado occidental del santuario, 23y dos tablones más en las esquinas del santuario en el extremo opuesto. 24Estos dos tablones deben ser dobles desde la base, quedando unidos por un solo anillo en la parte superior. Haz lo mismo en ambas esquinas, 25de modo que haya ocho tablones y dieciséis bases de plata; dos bases debajo de cada tablón.
26»Prepara también unos travesaños de madera de acacia: cinco para los tablones de un costado del santuario, 27cinco para los del costado opuesto y cinco para los del costado occidental, en la parte posterior del santuario. 28El travesaño central deberá pasar de un extremo al otro, a media altura de los tablones. 29Recubre de oro los tablones y haz unos anillos de oro para que los travesaños pasen por ellos. También debes recubrir de oro los travesaños.
30»Erige el santuario ciñéndote al modelo que se te mostró en el monte.
31»Haz una cortina de lana color azul, carmesí, escarlata y tela de lino fino con querubines artísticamente bordados en ella. 32Cuélgala con ganchos de oro en cuatro postes de madera de acacia recubiertos de oro, los cuales levantarás sobre cuatro bases de plata. 33Cuelga de los ganchos la cortina, la cual separará el Lugar Santo del Lugar Santísimo, y coloca el arca con las tablas del pacto detrás de la cortina. 34Pon una tapa sobre el arca con las tablas del pacto, dentro del Lugar Santísimo. 35Coloca la mesa fuera de la cortina en el lado norte del santuario. El candelabro lo pondrás frente a la mesa, en el lado sur.
36»Haz para la entrada de la tienda una cortina de lana color azul, carmesí, escarlata y tela de lino fino, bordada artísticamente. 37Para esta cortina prepara cinco postes de acacia recubiertos de oro con sus respectivos ganchos de oro y funde para los postes cinco bases de bronce.
