Biblica Appoints New Area Executive Director For North America

Biblica, The International Bible Society, a worldwide ministry that has been helping people read and understand God's Word for over 200 years, announced the appointment of Laura Fisher as Area Executive Director, North America, effective June 19.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., July 5, 2017 — Biblica, The International Bible Society, a worldwide ministry that has been helping people read and understand God’s Word for over 200 years, announced the appointment of Laura Fisher as Area Executive Director, North America, effective June 19.

Ms. Fisher has over 28 years of combined corporate and non-profit management leadership experience with an emphasis of integrating international program implementation priorities with financial resource management.

Before coming to Biblica, she was Vice President of International Operations and Donor Relations for Children’s HopeChest. In her role there, Fisher was responsible for field implementation of holistic child and community development projects and programs to alleviate poverty. This included sustainable agriculture, clean water access, small business development, business and vocational skills training.

“I want to be part of a team making an impact for the Kingdom of God,” she says. “When I was offered this position, I had a vision of holding God’s Word – becoming a steward of His Word. And that is such a high calling!”

“Laura brings many years of experience establishing and managing partnerships with complementary ministries,” explains Biblica COO, Brett Schrock. “She’ll be great at leading our partner-driven work in North America.”

Fisher has a BBA in Finance from University of Texas at Austin. She and her husband Rick just celebrated 26 years of marriage, and live near Palmer Lake, Colorado.
