29A violent man enticeth his neighbour, and leadeth him into the way that is not good. 30He shutteth his eyes to devise froward things: moving his lips he bringeth evil to pass. 31The hoary head is a crown of glory, if it be found in the way of righteousness. 32He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city. 33The lot is cast into the lap; but the whole disposing thereof is of the LORD.
1Intențiile inimii aparțin omului,

2Toate căile unui om sunt curate în ochii lui,

3Încredințează‑ți Domnului lucrările,
și îți vor reuși planurile.
4Domnul a făcut totul pentru un scop,
chiar și pe cel nelegiuit pentru ziua nenorocirii.
5Orice inimă mândră este o urâciune înaintea Domnului;
în mod sigur ea nu va rămâne nepedepsită.
6Prin îndurare și credincioșie este ispășită nelegiuirea,
și prin teama de Domnul se îndepărtează omul de la rău.
7Când Domnului Îi sunt plăcute căile unui om,
îi face chiar și pe dușmanii lui să trăiască în pace cu el.
8Mai bine puțin, dar cu dreptate,
decât mari venituri cu nedreptate!
9Inima omului își plănuiește calea,
dar Domnul îi îndrumă pasul.

gura lui nu va fi necredincioasă la judecată.
11Cântarul și talerele judecății sunt de la Domnul;
toate greutățile din sac sunt lucrarea Lui.
12Este o urâciune pentru regi să facă răul,
căci prin dreptate se întărește tronul.
13Buzele drepte sunt plăcute regilor
și cel ce spune adevărul este iubit.
14Mânia regelui este mesagerul morții,
dar omul înțelept o va potoli.
15Seninătatea feței regelui înseamnă viață

16Mai bună este dobândirea înțelepciunii decât a aurului
și obținerea priceperii decât a argintului.
17Calea celor drepți este să se îndepărteze de rău;
cine își păzește calea își păzește viața.
18Mândria merge înaintea distrugerii
și un duh arogant merge înaintea căderii.
19Mai bine să fii smerit în duh printre cei săraci,
decât să împarți prada cu cei mândri.
20Cine ia seama la Cuvânt găsește ce este bine
și oricine se încrede în Domnul este fericit!
21Cel cu inima înțeleaptă este numit priceput,
și dulceața buzelor sporește învățătura.
22Chibzuința este un izvor de viață pentru cei ce o au,
dar disciplinarea nebunilor este o nebunie.
23Inima celui înțelept îi îndrumă gura cu înțelepciune
și pe buzele lui sporește învățătura.
24Cuvintele plăcute sunt un fagure de miere,
dulci pentru suflet și vindecătoare pentru oase.
25Există o cale ce pare dreaptă înaintea omului,
dar la sfârșitul ei sunt căile morții.
26Pofta de mâncare a muncitorului este în folosul său,
căci foamea lui îl îndeamnă la lucru.
27Omul de nimic scoate la suprafață răul,
și vorbirea lui este ca un foc dogoritor.
28Omul care spune lucruri pervertite răspândește discordii
și un bârfitor dezbină pe cei mai buni prieteni.
29Omul violent își amăgește semenul
și‑l conduce pe o cale care nu este bună.
30Cel ce închide ochii, ca să plănuiască lucruri pervertite,
cel ce‑și mușcă buzele, a și dus la îndeplinire răul.
31Perii albi sunt o coroană frumoasă;
ea se găsește pe calea dreptății.
32Mai valoros este cel încet la mânie decât cel viteaz
și cel care‑și stăpânește duhul – decât cel care cucerește o cetate.
33Se aruncă sorțul în poală,
dar orice decizie este de la Domnul.
