Giô-si-a Giữ Lễ Vượt Qua
1Giô-si-a cử hành lễ Vượt Qua cho Chúa Hằng Hữu tại Giê-ru-sa-lem, và giết con chiên của lễ Vượt Qua vào ngày mười bốn tháng giêng. 2Giô-si-a phân công cho các thầy tế lễ và tăng cường nhân số để phục vụ trong Đền Thờ Chúa Hằng Hữu. 3Vua ban lệnh cho các người Lê-vi đã từng dạy dỗ cho người Ít-ra-ên và đã được biệt riêng cho Chúa Hằng Hữu: “Các ngươi hãy đặt Hòm Giao Ước thánh trong Đền Thờ mà Sa-lô-môn, con Đa-vít, vua Ít-ra-ên, đã xây cất. Các ngươi không cần phải khiêng trên vai. Bây giờ, hãy phục vụ Chúa Hằng Hữu là Đức Chúa Trời các ngươi và con dân Ít-ra-ên của Ngài. 4Hãy chuẩn bị trong nhà tổ phụ mình, theo ban thứ các ngươi, đúng như sắc lệnh của Đa-vít, vua Ít-ra-ên và sắc lệnh của con ông là Sa-lô-môn.
5Hãy đứng trong nơi thánh, theo các phân ban trong gia đình tổ phụ anh em các ngươi và dân tộc mình như khi dâng tế lễ trong Đền Thờ. 6Hãy giết con chiên của lễ Vượt Qua, hãy tự biệt mình ra thánh, chuẩn bị lễ Vượt Qua cho anh em mình để thi hành đúng lời Chúa Hằng Hữu đã truyền cho Môi-se.”
7Giô-si-a cấp cho toàn dân 30.000 chiên và dê con để dâng sinh tế Vượt Qua cho mỗi người có mặt,35:7 Nt tìm thấy được và 3.000 bò đực, bắt trong các bầy súc vật của vua. 8Các quan viên của vua cũng tặng lễ vật cho toàn dân, các thầy tế lễ, và người Lê-vi để dâng tế lễ. Hinh-kia, Xa-cha-ri, và Giê-hi-ên là những người cai quản Đền Thờ Đức Chúa Trời, cấp cho các thầy tế lễ 2.600 chiên và dê con để dâng lễ Vượt Qua, cộng thêm 300 bò đực. 9Cô-na-nia và các em là Sê-ma-gia, Na-tha-na-ên, Ha-sa-bia, Giê-i-ên, và Giô-xa-bát tức là các trưởng tộc Lê-vi, cung cấp cho người Lê-vi 5.000 chiên và dê con để dâng lễ Vượt Qua, cộng thêm 500 bò đực.
10Tất cả công việc đều được chuẩn bị sẵn sàng cho lễ Vượt Qua, các thầy tế lễ và người Lê-vi đều đứng tại chỗ được quy định và theo ban thứ mình mà phục vụ đúng theo lệnh của vua. 11Người Lê-vi giết các con chiên của lễ Vượt Qua và đưa máu cho các thầy tế lễ là những người sẽ dùng tay rảy máu sinh tế, còn người Lê-vi thì lột da các sinh tế. 12Họ lấy các tế lễ thiêu mà phân phối cho toàn dân theo từng nhóm trong tông tộc của họ, vậy họ dâng lên Chúa Hằng Hữu đúng theo Sách Môi-se đã ghi. Họ cũng làm như vậy với bò đực. 13Rồi họ nướng con chiên của lễ Vượt Qua theo luật lệ, luộc thịt thánh trong nồi, vạc, chảo, và phân phát cho toàn dân.
14Sau đó, người Lê-vi dọn cho họ và các thầy tế lễ—con cháu A-rôn—vì những thầy tế lễ đã bận rộn từ sáng đến tối để dâng các sinh tế thiêu và mỡ sinh tế. Người Lê-vi phải nhận phần trách nhiệm chuẩn bị những việc này.
15Những nhạc công, thuộc dòng A-sáp, đứng tại chỗ của mình theo như luật lệ Đa-vít, A-sáp, Hê-man, và Giê-đu-thun, nhà tiên kiến của vua, đã ấn định. Các ban gác cổng cũng tiếp tục đứng tại chỗ mà canh gác, vì anh em họ là người Lê-vi cũng dọn sẵn sinh tế Vượt Qua cho họ.
16Trong ngày ấy, tất cả nghi lễ đều chuẩn bị sẵn sàng để cử hành lễ Vượt Qua, tế lễ thiêu trên bàn thờ Chúa Hằng Hữu, theo lệnh Vua Giô-si-a. 17Trong dịp này, toàn dân Ít-ra-ên hiện diện tại Giê-ru-sa-lem đều dự lễ Vượt Qua và Lễ Bánh Không Men suốt bảy ngày. 18Từ thời Tiên tri Sa-mu-ên, chưa bao giờ người Ít-ra-ên giữ lễ Vượt Qua trọng thể như vậy. Chưa có vua nào cử hành lễ Vượt Qua như Giô-si-a với các thầy tế lễ, người Lê-vi, dân cư tại Giê-ru-sa-lem, và toàn dân Giu-đa và Ít-ra-ên đã làm. 19Lễ Vượt Qua được cử hành vào năm thứ mười tám triều Giô-si-a.
Giô-si-a Tử Trận
20Sau khi Giô-si-a hoàn thành việc trùng tu Đền Thờ, Vua Nê-cô, nước Ai Cập đem quân tấn công Cát-kê-mít bên Sông Ơ-phơ-rát, Giô-si-a đem quân nghênh chiến. 21Nhưng Vua Nê-cô sai sứ giả mang sứ điệp đến Giô-si-a:
“Này, vua Giu-đa, tôi với vua có việc gì tranh chấp đâu! Ngày nay tôi không tấn công Giu-đa! Tôi chỉ đánh quân thù của nước tôi và Đức Chúa Trời phán bảo tôi phải đánh gấp! Nếu vua không chống cự Đức Chúa Trời là Đấng đang ở với tôi thì Ngài sẽ không diệt vua đâu.”
22Tuy nhiên, Giô-si-a không nghe theo lời Nê-cô đã nói theo lệnh Đức Chúa Trời, và vua không rút quân. Trái lại, vua còn cải trang và đem quân tiến đánh tại đồng bằng Mê-ghi-đô. 23Các xạ thủ Ai Cập bắn tên trúng Vua Giô-si-a. Vua bảo các quan hầu cận: “Hãy đem ta ra khỏi trận địa này vì ta đã bị thương nặng!”
24Họ đưa vua Giô-si-a ra khỏi chiến xa của vua và đem qua một chiến xa khác rồi đưa vua về Giê-ru-sa-lem. Vua qua đời, được an táng trong lăng mộ hoàng gia. Toàn dân Giu-đa và Giê-ru-sa-lem đều khóc lóc chịu tang vua. 25Tiên tri Giê-rê-mi đọc bài ai ca cho Giô-si-a, cho đến nay ban hợp xướng vẫn hát bài ai ca về cái chết của Giô-si-a. Những bài ai ca này đã trở thành truyền thống và được ghi trong Sách Ai Ca.
26Các công việc trong thời Giô-si-a và lòng trung thành của ông với Luật Pháp Chúa Hằng Hữu, 27từ đầu đến cuối, đều ghi chép trong Sách Các Vua Ít-ra-ên và Giu-đa.
1Moreover Josiah kept a passover unto the LORD in Jerusalem: and they killed the passover on the fourteenth day of the first month. 2And he set the priests in their charges, and encouraged them to the service of the house of the LORD, 3And said unto the Levites that taught all Israel, which were holy unto the LORD, Put the holy ark in the house which Solomon the son of David king of Israel did build; it shall not be a burden upon your shoulders: serve now the LORD your God, and his people Israel, 4And prepare yourselves by the houses of your fathers, after your courses, according to the writing of David king of Israel, and according to the writing of Solomon his son. 5And stand in the holy place according to the divisions of the families of the fathers of your brethren the people, and after the division of the families of the Levites.35.5 the families of the fathers: Heb. the house of the fathers35.5 the people: Heb. the sons of the people 6So kill the passover, and sanctify yourselves, and prepare your brethren, that they may do according to the word of the LORD by the hand of Moses. 7And Josiah gave to the people, of the flock, lambs and kids, all for the passover offerings, for all that were present, to the number of thirty thousand, and three thousand bullocks: these were of the king’s substance.35.7 gave: Heb. offered 8And his princes gave willingly unto the people, to the priests, and to the Levites: Hilkiah and Zechariah and Jehiel, rulers of the house of God, gave unto the priests for the passover offerings two thousand and six hundred small cattle, and three hundred oxen.35.8 gave willingly: Heb. offered, etc 9Conaniah also, and Shemaiah and Nethaneel, his brethren, and Hashabiah and Jeiel and Jozabad, chief of the Levites, gave unto the Levites for passover offerings five thousand small cattle, and five hundred oxen.35.9 gave: Heb. offered 10So the service was prepared, and the priests stood in their place, and the Levites in their courses, according to the king’s commandment. 11And they killed the passover, and the priests sprinkled the blood from their hands, and the Levites flayed them. 12And they removed the burnt offerings, that they might give according to the divisions of the families of the people, to offer unto the LORD, as it is written in the book of Moses. And so did they with the oxen. 13And they roasted the passover with fire according to the ordinance: but the other holy offerings sod they in pots, and in caldrons, and in pans, and divided them speedily among all the people.35.13 divided…: Heb. made them run 14And afterward they made ready for themselves, and for the priests: because the priests the sons of Aaron were busied in offering of burnt offerings and the fat until night; therefore the Levites prepared for themselves, and for the priests the sons of Aaron. 15And the singers the sons of Asaph were in their place, according to the commandment of David, and Asaph, and Heman, and Jeduthun the king’s seer; and the porters waited at every gate; they might not depart from their service; for their brethren the Levites prepared for them.35.15 place: Heb. station 16So all the service of the LORD was prepared the same day, to keep the passover, and to offer burnt offerings upon the altar of the LORD, according to the commandment of king Josiah. 17And the children of Israel that were present kept the passover at that time, and the feast of unleavened bread seven days.35.17 present: Heb. found 18And there was no passover like to that kept in Israel from the days of Samuel the prophet; neither did all the kings of Israel keep such a passover as Josiah kept, and the priests, and the Levites, and all Judah and Israel that were present, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.35.18 present: Heb. found 19In the eighteenth year of the reign of Josiah was this passover kept.
20¶ After all this, when Josiah had prepared the temple, Necho king of Egypt came up to fight against Carchemish by Euphrates: and Josiah went out against him.35.20 temple: Heb. house 21But he sent ambassadors to him, saying, What have I to do with thee, thou king of Judah? I come not against thee this day, but against the house wherewith I have war: for God commanded me to make haste: forbear thee from meddling with God, who is with me, that he destroy thee not.35.21 the house…: Heb. the house of my war 22Nevertheless Josiah would not turn his face from him, but disguised himself, that he might fight with him, and hearkened not unto the words of Necho from the mouth of God, and came to fight in the valley of Megiddo. 23And the archers shot at king Josiah; and the king said to his servants, Have me away; for I am sore wounded.35.23 wounded: Heb. made sick 24His servants therefore took him out of that chariot, and put him in the second chariot that he had; and they brought him to Jerusalem, and he died, and was buried in one of the sepulchres of his fathers. 25¶ And Jeremiah lamented for Josiah: and all the singing men and the singing women spake of Josiah in their lamentations to this day, and made them an ordinance in Israel: and, behold, they are written in the lamentations. 26Now the rest of the acts of Josiah, and his goodness, according to that which was written in the law of the LORD,35.26 goodness: Heb. kindnesses 27And his deeds, first and last, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah.
