Si-ru Cho Phép Dân Lưu Đày Hồi Hương
1Vào năm thứ nhất triều Si-ru, vua Ba Tư, lời tiên tri của Giê-rê-mi được ứng nghiệm. Chúa Hằng Hữu giục lòng vua ra tuyên cáo trong khắp đế quốc, nội dung như sau:
2“Si-ru, vua Ba Tư, tuyên cáo:
Đức Chúa Trời Hằng Hữu đã cho ta các vương quốc tại trần gian này. Nay Chúa phán ta xây Đền Thờ Ngài tại Giê-ru-sa-lem, thuộc Giu-đa. 3Các con dân của Chúa đều được phép trở về Giê-ru-sa-lem tại Giu-đa cất lại Đền Thờ Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời của Ít-ra-ên, và của Giê-ru-sa-lem. Cầu xin Đức Chúa Trời ban phước lành cho tất cả con dân Chúa. 4Những người Giu-đa sinh sống rải rác khắp nơi phải được dân bản xứ giúp đỡ, bằng cách cung cấp vàng, bạc, của cải và súc vật; cùng những lễ vật người địa phương tự nguyện dâng hiến cho Đền Thờ của Đức Chúa Trời tại Giê-ru-sa-lem.”
5Đức Chúa Trời làm cho tinh thần của các trưởng tộc Giu-đa và Bên-gia-min, cùng các thầy tế lễ người Lê-vi, được phấn chấn; họ đứng lên, trở về Giê-ru-sa-lem xây lại Đền Thờ của Đức Chúa Trời. 6Dân bản xứ đem những vật bằng vàng, bạc, của cải, súc vật, và những vật quý khác—cùng những lễ vật tự nguyện hiến dâng cho đền thờ—cho người Giu-đa.
7Vua Si-ru cũng giao lại cho người Giu-đa các dụng cụ từ Đền Thờ Chúa Hằng Hữu tại Giê-ru-sa-lem đã bị Nê-bu-cát-nết-sa lấy đem về Ba-by-lôn và để trong đền thần mình. 8Vua Si-ru còn ra lệnh cho Mít-rê-đát, thủ quỹ của Ba Tư, trích kho một số bảo vật đem biếu Sết-ba-xa, nhà lãnh đạo Giu-đa. 9Các bảo vật gồm có:
đĩa vàng lớn 30 cái
đĩa bạc lớn 1.000 cái
lư hương 29 cái
10bát vàng 30 cái
bát bạc 410 cái
các bảo vật khác 1.000 cái.
11Tất cả có đến 5.400 bảo vật vàng và bạc. Sết-ba-xa đem các bảo vật này theo khi cùng đoàn người lưu đày từ Ba-by-lôn trở về Giê-ru-sa-lem.
1Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying,1.1 made…: Heb. caused a voice to pass 2Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, The LORD God of heaven hath given me all the kingdoms of the earth; and he hath charged me to build him an house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah. 3Who is there among you of all his people? his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and build the house of the LORD God of Israel, (he is the God,) which is in Jerusalem. 4And whosoever remaineth in any place where he sojourneth, let the men of his place help him with silver, and with gold, and with goods, and with beasts, beside the freewill offering for the house of God that is in Jerusalem.1.4 help…: Heb. lift him up
5¶ Then rose up the chief of the fathers of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests, and the Levites, with all them whose spirit God had raised, to go up to build the house of the LORD which is in Jerusalem. 6And all they that were about them strengthened their hands with vessels of silver, with gold, with goods, and with beasts, and with precious things, beside all that was willingly offered.1.6 strengthened…: that is, helped them
7¶ Also Cyrus the king brought forth the vessels of the house of the LORD, which Nebuchadnezzar had brought forth out of Jerusalem, and had put them in the house of his gods; 8Even those did Cyrus king of Persia bring forth by the hand of Mithredath the treasurer, and numbered them unto Sheshbazzar, the prince of Judah. 9And this is the number of them: thirty chargers of gold, a thousand chargers of silver, nine and twenty knives, 10Thirty basons of gold, silver basons of a second sort four hundred and ten, and other vessels a thousand. 11All the vessels of gold and of silver were five thousand and four hundred.
