Salmo 129
Cântico de Peregrinação.
1Muitas vezes me oprimiram desde a minha juventude;
que Israel o repita:
2Muitas vezes me oprimiram desde a minha juventude,
mas jamais conseguiram vencer-me.
3Passaram o arado em minhas costas
e fizeram longos sulcos.
4O Senhor é justo!
Ele libertou-me das algemas dos ímpios.
5Retrocedam envergonhados
todos os que odeiam Sião.
6Sejam como o capim do terraço,
que seca antes de crescer,
7que não enche as mãos do ceifeiro
nem os braços daquele que faz os fardos.
8E que ninguém que passa diga:
“Seja sobre vocês a bênção do Senhor;
nós os abençoamos em nome do Senhor!”
Psalm 129
A song of ascents.
1‘They have greatly oppressed me from my youth,’
let Israel say;
2‘they have greatly oppressed me from my youth,
but they have not gained the victory over me.
3Ploughmen have ploughed my back
and made their furrows long.
4But the Lord is righteous;
he has cut me free from the cords of the wicked.’
5May all who hate Zion
be turned back in shame.
6May they be like grass on the roof,
which withers before it can grow;
7a reaper cannot fill his hands with it,
nor one who gathers fill his arms.
8May those who pass by not say to them,
‘The blessing of the Lord be on you;
we bless you in the name of the Lord.’
