1Strigați de bucurie către Dumnezeu, Tăria noastră!
Strigați de veselie către Dumnezeul lui Iacov!
2Înălțați o cântare, sunați din tamburine,
din lira cea plăcută și din harfă2 Ebr.: nebel, instrument cu coarde asemănător lirei, având 12 coarde și un ton grav..
3Suflați din trâmbiță3 Vezi nota de la Ps. 47:5. la lună nouă3 Vezi Num. 28:11-15.,
la lună plină, în ziua sărbătorii noastre.
4Căci aceasta este o hotărâre pentru Israel,
o judecată din partea Dumnezeului lui Iacov.
5Mărturia aceasta i‑a dat‑o lui Iosif,
când a ieșit împotriva țării Egiptului.
Atunci am auzit un glas pe care nu‑l cunoșteam:
6„I‑am îndepărtat povara de pe umăr,
mâinile lui nu mai țin coșul.
7La necaz ai strigat, iar Eu te‑am salvat;
ți‑am răspuns de lângă locul tainic al tunetului,
te‑am încercat la apele Meriba. Selah
8Ascultă, poporul Meu, și te voi sfătui!
O, Israel, de M‑ai asculta!
9Să nu se găsească la tine niciun dumnezeu străin!
Să nu te închini niciunui zeu!
10Eu sunt Domnul, Dumnezeul tău!
Eu te‑am adus din țara Egiptului!
Deschide‑ți gura și ți‑o voi umple!
11Dar poporul Meu n‑a ascultat de glasul Meu,
Israel nu M‑a dorit.
12Atunci i‑am lăsat în voia inimii lor încăpățânate;
au trăit după propriile lor sfaturi.
13O, dacă M‑ar asculta poporul Meu,
dacă ar umbla Israel pe căile Mele!
14Imediat i‑aș supune pe dușmanii săi
și Mi‑aș întoarce mâna împotriva vrăjmașilor săi.
15Cei ce‑L urăsc pe Domnul ar da înapoi în fața Lui.
Fie‑le pedeapsa15 Lit.: timpul. pe vecie!
16Pe Israel însă l‑aș hrăni cu cel mai bun grâu
și l‑aș sătura cu miere din stâncă!“

3Blow up the trumpet in the new moon, in the time appointed, on our solemn feast day.
4For this was a statute for Israel, and a law of the God of Jacob.

8Hear, O my people, and I will testify unto thee: O Israel, if thou wilt hearken unto me;
9There shall no strange god be in thee; neither shalt thou worship any strange god.
10I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.
11But my people would not hearken to my voice; and Israel would none of me.
12So I gave them up unto their own hearts’ lust: and they walked in their own counsels.81.12 unto…: or, to the hardness of their hearts, or, imagination
13Oh that my people had hearkened unto me, and Israel had walked in my ways!
14I should soon have subdued their enemies, and turned my hand against their adversaries.
