Isus, Domn al Sabatului
(Mt. 12:1-8; Mc. 2:23-28)
1Într‑o zi de Sabat, Isus trecea prin lanurile de grâu. Ucenicii Lui smulgeau spice, le frecau cu mâinile și mâncau boabele.
2Unii dintre farisei le‑au zis:
– De ce faceți ce nu este voie în ziua de Sabat?
3Isus, răspunzându‑le, a zis:
– N‑ați citit ce a făcut David atunci când i s‑a făcut foame, atât lui, cât și celor ce erau cu el? 4Cum a intrat în Casa lui Dumnezeu și a luat și a mâncat pâinile prezentării,4 Vezi 1 Sam. 21:1-7. pe care nu este îngăduit să le mănânce decât preoții, și cum a dat și celor ce erau cu el?
5Apoi le‑a zis:
– Fiul Omului este Domn al Sabatului.
Isus vindecă, în ziua Sabatului, un om cu mâna uscată
(Mt. 12:9-14; Mc. 3:1-6)
6Într‑o altă zi de Sabat, a intrat în sinagogă și dădea învățătură. Acolo se afla un om a cărui mână dreaptă era uscată6 În sensul de paralizată și cu pielea uscată, zbârcită.. 7Cărturarii și fariseii Îl urmăreau pe Isus, ca să vadă dacă vindecă în ziua de Sabat și să găsească astfel o acuzație împotriva Lui. 8Însă El le știa gândurile, așa că i‑a zis omului care avea mâna uscată: „Ridică‑te și stai în mijloc!“ El s‑a ridicat și a stat acolo.
9Apoi Isus le‑a zis: „Vă întreb: este voie în ziua de Sabat să faci bine sau să faci rău, să salvezi o viață sau s‑o distrugi?“
10Și rotindu‑Și privirea peste toți, i‑a zis omului: „Întinde‑ți mâna!“ El a făcut întocmai și mâna lui a fost făcută sănătoasă. 11Atunci ei s‑au umplut de mânie11 Sau: prostie. Termenul poate reda o mânie fără sens, nejustificată, chiar prostească. și au început să discute unii cu alții despre ce I‑ar putea face lui Isus.
Alegerea celor doisprezece apostoli
(Mt. 10:2-4; Mc. 3:13-19; F.A. 1:13)
12Într‑una din zilele acelea, Isus S‑a dus pe munte să Se roage și a petrecut toată noaptea în rugăciune către Dumnezeu. 13Când s‑a făcut ziuă, i‑a chemat pe ucenicii Săi și a ales doisprezece dintre ei, pe care i‑a numit apostoli13 Apostol înseamnă Cineva trimis (cu o misiune specială).. 14Aceștia sunt: Simon, pe care l‑a numit Petru, și Andrei, fratele lui; Iacov; Ioan; Filip; Bartolomeu14 Bartolomeu (în aramaică: fiul lui Tolmai) poate fi un alt nume al lui Natanael (vezi In. 1:45-51), care nu este menționat aici.; 15Matei; Toma; Iacov, fiul lui Alfeu; Simon, numit Zelotul15 Termenul indică probabil faptul că Simon a aparținut grupării zeloșilor/zeloților, o grupare revoluționară care se opunea în mod violent stăpânirii romane, însă este posibil ca termenul să indice doar temperamentul zelos al lui Simon.; 16Iuda16 Un alt nume al lui Tadeu (vezi Mt. 10:3; Mc. 3:18)., fiul lui Iacov; și Iuda Iscarioteanul, cel care a ajuns trădător.
Fericiri și vaiuri
(Mt. 5:3-12)
17A coborât împreună cu ei și S‑a oprit pe un loc neted, alături de o mare mulțime de ucenici de‑ai Săi și de o mare mulțime de oameni din toată Iudeea, din Ierusalim și din regiunea de coastă a Tyrului și a Sidonului, 18care veniseră să‑L asculte și să fie vindecați de bolile lor. Cei chinuiți de duhuri necurate erau vindecați și ei. 19Toată mulțimea încerca să‑L atingă, pentru că din El ieșea o putere care‑i vindeca pe toți.
20Isus Și‑a ridicat ochii spre ucenicii Lui și le‑a zis:
„Fericiți sunteți voi cei săraci,
căci a voastră este Împărăția lui Dumnezeu!
21Fericiți sunteți voi cei flămânzi acum,
căci voi veți fi săturați!
Fericiți sunteți voi, care acum plângeți,
căci voi veți râde!
22Fericiți sunteți voi când oamenii vă urăsc,
când vă resping, vă insultă
și alungă numele vostru ca pe ceva rău,
din cauza Fiului Omului.
23Bucurați‑vă, în ziua aceea, și săltați de veselie, pentru că iată, răsplata voastră este mare în cer! Căci tot așa făceau și strămoșii23, 26 Lit.: tații. voștri cu profeții.
24Dar vai de voi, cei bogați,
căci voi v‑ați primit mângâierea!
25Vai de voi, cei care acum sunteți sătui,
căci voi veți flămânzi!
Vai de voi, cei care râdeți acum,
căci voi veți jeli și veți plânge!
26Vai de voi, când toți oamenii vă vor vorbi de bine,
căci tot așa au făcut și strămoșii voștri cu falșii profeți!
Iubirea dușmanilor
(Mt. 5:39-42)
27Eu însă vă spun vouă, celor ce ascultați: iubiți‑vă dușmanii, faceți‑le bine celor ce vă urăsc, 28binecuvântați‑i pe cei ce vă blestemă și rugați‑vă pentru cei ce se poartă urât cu voi! 29Celui ce te lovește peste un obraz, întoarce‑i‑l și pe celălalt! Pe cel ce‑ți ia haina, nu‑l împiedica să‑ți ia și cămașa! 30Oricui îți cere, dă‑i, iar de la cel ce‑ți ia bunurile, să nu mai ceri înapoi! 31Așa cum doriți să vă facă vouă oamenii, faceți‑le și voi la fel!
32Dacă‑i iubiți pe cei ce vă iubesc, ce fel de recompensă vi se cuvine? Căci și păcătoșii32-34 Vezi nota de la 5:30. îi iubesc pe cei care‑i iubesc pe ei. 33Și dacă le faceți bine celor ce vă fac bine, ce fel de recompensă vi se cuvine? Și păcătoșii fac la fel. 34Iar dacă‑i împrumutați pe cei de la care sperați să primiți înapoi, ce fel de recompensă vi se cuvine? Și păcătoșii îi împrumută pe păcătoși, ca să primească înapoi la fel. 35Voi însă iubiți‑vă dușmanii, faceți bine și împrumutați, fără să mai așteptați nimic în schimb! Astfel, răsplata voastră va fi mare și veți fi fii ai Celui Preaînalt, fiindcă El este bun și cu cei nerecunoscători și răi. 36Fiți milostivi, tot așa cum și Tatăl vostru este milostiv.
Paiul și bârna
(Mt. 7:1-5)
37Nu judecați și nu veți fi judecați! Nu condamnați și nu veți fi condamnați! Iertați și veți fi iertați! 38Dați și vi se va da! O măsură plină, îndesată, clătinată și care se revarsă, va fi pusă în poala voastră. Căci cu ce măsură măsurați, vi se va măsura.“
39Le‑a spus apoi și o pildă:
„Poate oare un orb să călăuzească un alt orb? Nu vor cădea ei amândoi în groapă? 40Ucenicul nu este mai presus de învățătorul său, dar orice ucenic pe deplin pregătit va fi ca învățătorul lui. 41De ce vezi tu așchia41 Ideea din context nu este să‑i lăsăm pe frați cu problemele care au generat judecata, ci să mergem spre rezolvare, soluționând însă mai întâi propriile probleme. din ochiul fratelui tău, dar nu observi bârna din propriul tău ochi?! 42Cum îi poți spune fratelui tău: «Frate, lasă‑mă să‑ți scot așchia din ochi!», când tu însuți nu vezi bârna din ochiul tău? Ipocritule! Scoate mai întâi bârna din ochiul tău, și atunci vei vedea clar să scoți așchia din ochiul fratelui tău.
Identificarea profeților falși după fapte
(Mt. 7:17-20)
43Căci nu este niciun pom bun care să facă rod stricat și, iarăși, niciun pom stricat care să facă rod bun. 44Căci fiecare pom este cunoscut după propriul său rod. Fiindcă oamenii nu culeg smochine din spini, și nici nu strâng struguri din mărăcini! 45Omul bun scoate ce este bun din vistieria bună a inimii lui, dar cel rău scoate ce este rău din vistieria lui cea rea. Căci din belșugul inimii îi vorbește gura.
Casa zidită pe stâncă
(Mt. 7:24-27)
46De ce‑Mi ziceți: «Doamne, Doamne!» și nu faceți ce spun Eu? 47Vă voi arăta cu cine se aseamănă orice om care vine la Mine, aude cuvintele Mele și le face: 48este asemenea unui om care, atunci când a construit o casă, a săpat adânc și i‑a pus temelia pe stâncă. Când a venit șuvoiul de apă, râul a izbit în casa aceea și n‑a putut s‑o clatine, pentru că fusese construită bine48 Unele mss conțin: pentru că temelia îi fusese pusă pe stâncă.. 49Însă cel ce aude și nu face, este asemenea unui om care a construit o casă pe pământ, fără temelie. Când râul a izbit în ea, casa s‑a prăbușit imediat și distrugerea acelei case a fost mare.“
1And it came to pass on the second sabbath after the first, that he went through the corn fields; and his disciples plucked the ears of corn, and did eat, rubbing them in their hands. 2And certain of the Pharisees said unto them, Why do ye that which is not lawful to do on the sabbath days? 3And Jesus answering them said, Have ye not read so much as this, what David did, when himself was an hungred, and they which were with him; 4How he went into the house of God, and did take and eat the shewbread, and gave also to them that were with him; which it is not lawful to eat but for the priests alone? 5And he said unto them, That the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath. 6And it came to pass also on another sabbath, that he entered into the synagogue and taught: and there was a man whose right hand was withered. 7And the scribes and Pharisees watched him, whether he would heal on the sabbath day; that they might find an accusation against him. 8But he knew their thoughts, and said to the man which had the withered hand, Rise up, and stand forth in the midst. And he arose and stood forth. 9Then said Jesus unto them, I will ask you one thing; Is it lawful on the sabbath days to do good, or to do evil? to save life, or to destroy it? 10And looking round about upon them all, he said unto the man, Stretch forth thy hand. And he did so: and his hand was restored whole as the other. 11And they were filled with madness; and communed one with another what they might do to Jesus. 12And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.
13¶ And when it was day, he called unto him his disciples: and of them he chose twelve, whom also he named apostles; 14Simon, (whom he also named Peter,) and Andrew his brother, James and John, Philip and Bartholomew, 15Matthew and Thomas, James the son of Alphæus, and Simon called Zelotes, 16And Judas the brother of James, and Judas Iscariot, which also was the traitor.
17¶ And he came down with them, and stood in the plain, and the company of his disciples, and a great multitude of people out of all Judæa and Jerusalem, and from the sea coast of Tyre and Sidon, which came to hear him, and to be healed of their diseases; 18And they that were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed. 19And the whole multitude sought to touch him: for there went virtue out of him, and healed them all.
20¶ And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed be ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God. 21Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh. 22Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man’s sake. 23Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets. 24But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation. 25Woe unto you that are full! for ye shall hunger. Woe unto you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep. 26Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.
27¶ But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, 28Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you. 29And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not to take thy coat also. 30Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again. 31And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise. 32For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them. 33And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same. 34And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again. 35But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. 36Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful. 37Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven: 38Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again. 39And he spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch? 40The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master. 41And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but perceivest not the beam that is in thine own eye? 42Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother’s eye. 43For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 44For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes. 45A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
46¶ And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? 47Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like: 48He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock. 49But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.
