Psalm 97
1The Lord reigns, let the earth be glad;
let the distant shores rejoice.
2Clouds and thick darkness surround him;
righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.
3Fire goes before him
and consumes his foes on every side.
4His lightning lights up the world;
the earth sees and trembles.
5The mountains melt like wax before the Lord,
before the Lord of all the earth.
6The heavens proclaim his righteousness,
and all peoples see his glory.
7All who worship images are put to shame,
those who boast in idols—
worship him, all you gods!
8Zion hears and rejoices
and the villages of Judah are glad
because of your judgments, Lord.
9For you, Lord, are the Most High over all the earth;
you are exalted far above all gods.
10Let those who love the Lord hate evil,
for he guards the lives of his faithful ones
and delivers them from the hand of the wicked.

Herrens allmakt
1Herren är kung!
Låt hela jorden brista ut i jubel,
kustländerna långt borta glädja sig!
2Moln och mörker omger honom.
Rättfärdighet och rättvisa är grunden för hans tron.
3Eld går ut framför honom
och bränner upp alla hans fiender runt omkring.
4Hans blixtar lyser upp hela världen.
Jorden ser det och darrar.
5Bergen smälter som vax inför Herren,
hela jordens Herre.
6Himlarna förkunnar hans rättfärdighet.
Alla folk ser hans härlighet.
7De som tillber gudabilder ska alla komma på skam,
de som skryter med sina avgudar,
för alla gudar måste böja sig inför honom.
8Sion hör det och gläder sig,
Juda städer jublar över dina domar, Herre.
9För du, Herre, är den högste över hela jorden,
upphöjd över alla andra gudar.
10Hata det onda, ni som älskar Herren.
Han bevarar sina frommas liv
och räddar dem ur de gudlösas våld.
11Ljus sprids ut över de rättfärdiga
och glädje över de rättsinniga.
12Gläd er i Herren, ni rättfärdiga,
och prisa hans heliga namn.
