Three Hallelujahs for the Fall of Babylon!
1After these things I heard a roar in heaven. It sounded like a huge crowd shouting,
“Hallelujah!
Salvation and glory and power belong to our God.
2The way he judges is true and fair.
He has judged the great prostitute.
She made the earth impure with her terrible sins.
God has paid her back for killing those who served him.”
3Again they shouted,
“Hallelujah!
The smoke from her fire goes up for ever and ever.”
4The 24 elders and the four living creatures bowed down. They worshiped God, who was sitting on the throne. They cried out,
“Amen! Hallelujah!”
5Then a voice came from the throne. It said,
“Praise our God,
all you who serve him!
Praise God, all you who have respect for him,
both great and small!”
6Then I heard the noise of a huge crowd. It sounded like the roar of rushing waters and like loud thunder. The people were shouting,
“Hallelujah!
Our Lord God is the King who rules over all.
7Let us be joyful and glad!
Let us give him glory!
It is time for the Lamb’s wedding.
His bride has made herself ready.
8Fine linen, bright and clean,
was given to her to wear.”
Fine linen stands for the right things that God’s holy people do.
9Here is what the angel told me to write. “Blessed are those invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!” Then he added, “These are the true words of God.”
10When I heard this, I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “Don’t do that! I serve God, just as you do. I am God’s servant, just like believers who hold firmly to what Jesus has taught. Worship God! The Spirit of prophecy tells the truth about Jesus.”
The Heavenly Warrior Has Victory Over the Beast
11I saw heaven standing open. There in front of me was a white horse. Its rider is called Faithful and True. When he judges or makes war, he is always fair. 12His eyes are like blazing fire. On his head are many crowns. A name is written on him that only he knows. 13He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood. His name is the Word of God. 14The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses. They were dressed in fine linen, white and clean. 15Coming out of the rider’s mouth is a sharp sword. He will strike down the nations with the sword. Scripture says, “He will rule them with an iron scepter.” (Psalm 2:9) He stomps on the grapes of God’s winepress. The winepress stands for the terrible anger of the God who rules over all. 16Here is the name that is written on the rider’s robe and on his thigh.
The Greatest King of All and the Most Powerful Lord of All
17I saw an angel standing in the sun. He shouted to all the birds flying high in the air, “Come! Gather together for the great supper of God. 18Come and eat the dead bodies of kings, generals, and other mighty people. Eat the bodies of horses and their riders. Eat the bodies of all people, free and slave, great and small.”
19Then I saw the beast and the kings of the earth with their armies. They had gathered together to make war against the rider on the horse and his army. 20But the beast and the false prophet were captured. The false prophet had done signs for the beast. In this way the false prophet had tricked some people. Those people had received the mark of the beast and had worshiped its statue. The beast and the false prophet were thrown alive into the lake of fire. The lake of fire burns with sulfur. 21The rest were killed by the sword that came out of the rider’s mouth. All the birds stuffed themselves with the dead bodies.
Aleluia!
1După toate acestea, am auzit în cer ceva ca un glas puternic al unei mari mulțimi, zicând:
„Aleluia!1 Cuvânt împrumutat din ebraică. Acesta înseamnă: Lăudați‑L pe Domnul! [peste tot în capitol].
Mântuirea, slava și puterea sunt ale Dumnezeului nostru,
2pentru că judecățile Lui sunt adevărate și drepte:
El a judecat‑o pe marea prostituată
care a pervertit lumea prin curvia ei!
A răzbunat sângele robilor Săi, vărsat de mâna ei!“
3Au spus a doua oară:
„Aleluia!
Fumul ei se va ridica în vecii vecilor!“
4Cei douăzeci și patru de bătrâni și cele patru ființe vii s‑au aruncat la pământ și I s‑au închinat lui Dumnezeu, Care stă pe tron, zicând:
„Amin! Aleluia!“
5Și de la tron a ieșit un glas, zicând:
„Lăudați‑L pe Dumnezeul nostru,
toți robii Lui
și cei ce vă temeți de El,
mici și mari!“
6Și am auzit ceva ca un glas al unei mari mulțimi, ca un vuiet de ape multe și ca un sunet de tunete puternice, zicând:
„Aleluia!
Pentru că Domnul Dumnezeul nostru,
Cel Atotputernic, împărățește!
7Să ne bucurăm, să ne veselim
și să‑I dăm slavă,
pentru că nunta Mielului a sosit,
iar mireasa Lui s‑a pregătit7 Metafora căsătoriei, ca imagine a relației dintre Dumnezeu și poporul Său, este întâlnită atât în VT, cât și în NT (vezi Is. 54:5-7; Os. 2:19; Mt. 22:2-14; Ef. 5:31-32)..
8I s‑a dat să se îmbrace
în in fin, strălucitor și curat.“
Căci inul fin reprezintă faptele drepte ale sfinților.
9Apoi mi‑a zis: „Scrie! Fericiți sunt cei chemați la Cina nunții Mielului!“ Mi‑a mai zis: „Acestea sunt cuvintele adevărate ale lui Dumnezeu.“ 10M‑am aruncat la picioarele lui, ca să mă închin lui, dar el mi‑a zis: „Vezi să nu faci așa ceva! Eu sunt rob împreună cu tine și cu frații tăi, care țin mărturia lui Isus. Lui Dumnezeu închină‑te! Căci mărturia lui Isus este duhul profeției10 Sau: Duhul profeției; vezi In. 15:26, unde Duhul lui Dumnezeu este Cel Care mărturisește despre Isus. De asemenea, tot Duhul lui Dumnezeu este Cel Care îi inspiră pe profeți (vezi Zah. 7:12; F.A. 1:2; 4:25; Ef. 3:5)..“
Călărețul și calul cel alb
11Apoi am văzut cerul deschis și iată că era un cal alb. Cel Ce îl călărea era numit „Cel Credincios și Adevărat“. El judecă și Se războiește cu dreptate. 12Ochii Lui erau ca flacăra focului, iar pe cap avea multe diademe. Avea un nume scris, pe care nimeni nu‑l cunoaște în afară de El. 13Era îmbrăcat cu o haină înmuiată în13 Unele mss conțin: stropită cu. sânge, iar numele Lui este „Cuvântul lui Dumnezeu“. 14Armatele care erau în cer Îl urmau pe cai albi, fiind îmbrăcate în in fin, de un alb curat. 15Din gura Lui iese o sabie ascuțită cu care să lovească neamurile. „El le va conduce cu un sceptru de fier.“15 Vezi Ps. 2:9. El calcă în picioare teascul de vin al furiei mâniei lui Dumnezeu, al Atotputernicului. 16Pe haina și pe coapsa Lui avea scris un nume:
împăratul împăraților și domnul domnilor.
17Am văzut un înger care stătea în picioare în soare și care a strigat cu glas tare către toate păsările ce zboară în înaltul cerului: „Veniți! Adunați‑vă pentru ospățul cel mare al lui Dumnezeu, 18ca să mâncați carnea regilor, carnea comandanților, carnea celor puternici, carnea cailor și a călăreților și carnea tuturor – atât a celor liberi, cât și a sclavilor, atât a celor mici, cât și a celor mari!“
19Și am văzut fiara, regii pământului și armatele lor adunate ca să poarte război cu Cel Ce călărea pe cal și cu armata Lui. 20Fiara a fost prinsă și împreună cu ea a fost prins și profetul fals, care făcuse semne înaintea ei, semne prin care i‑a dus în rătăcire pe cei ce au primit semnul fiarei și pe cei ce s‑au închinat chipului ei. Cei doi au fost aruncați de vii în lacul de foc care arde cu sulf. 21Iar ceilalți au fost omorâți de sabia care ieșea din gura Celui Ce călărea pe cal; și toate păsările s‑au săturat din carnea lor.
