Psalm 72
A psalm of Solomon.
1God, give the king the ability to judge fairly.
He is your royal son. Help him to do what is right.
2May he rule your people in the right way.
May he be fair to those among your people who are hurting.
3May the mountains and the hills produce rich crops,
because the people will do what is right.
4May the king stand up for those who are hurting.
May he save the children of those who are in need.
May he crush those who treat others badly.
5May the king rule as long as the sun shines
and the moon gives its light.
May he rule for all time to come.
6May he be like rain falling on the fields.
May he be like showers watering the earth.
7May godly people do well as long as he rules.
May they have more than they need as long as the moon lasts.
8May the king rule from sea to sea.
May his kingdom reach from the Euphrates River to the ends of the earth.
9May the desert tribes bow down to him.
May his enemies lick the dust.
10May the kings of Tarshish and of places far away
bring him gifts.
May the kings of Sheba and Seba
give him presents.
11May all kings bow down to him.
May all nations serve him.
12The king will save needy people who cry out to him.
He will save those who are hurting and have no one else to help.
13He will take pity on those who are weak and in need.
He will save them from death.
14He will save them from people who treat others badly.
He will save them from people who do mean things to them.
Their lives are very special to him.
15May the king live a long time!
May gold from Sheba be given to him.
May people always pray for him.
May they ask the Lord to bless him all day long.
16May there be plenty of grain everywhere in the land.
May it sway in the wind on the tops of the hills.
May the crops grow well, like those in Lebanon.
May they grow like the grass of the field.
17May the king’s name be remembered forever.
May his fame last as long as the sun shines.
Then all nations will be blessed because of him.
They will call him blessed.
18Give praise to the Lord God, the God of Israel.
Only he can do wonderful things.
19Give praise to his glorious name forever.
May his glory fill the whole earth.

Al lui SolomonTitlu. Sau pentru Solomon.
1Dumnezeule, dă judecățile Tale regelui
și dreptatea Ta fiului regelui!
2Atunci el2-11, 17 Sau: Fie ca el să. va judeca poporul Tău cu dreptate
și pe săracii Tăi cu nepărtinire.
3Munții vor aduce pacea pentru popor
și tot așa și dealurile, prin dreptate.
4El le va face dreptate celor săraci din popor,
îi va izbăvi pe fiii celui nevoiaș
și îl va zdrobi pe asupritor.
5Ei se vor teme de Tine atât timp cât va fi soare,
cât va fi lună, din generație în generație.
6El va fi ca ploaia care coboară peste pământul cosit,
ca ploile repezi care udă pământul.
7În zilele lui, cel drept va înflori
și va fi multă pace, până când nu va mai fi lună.
8El va domni de la o mare la alta
și de la râu8 Eufratul. până la marginile pământului.8 Sau: până la marginile țării.
9Înaintea lui se vor pleca triburile pustiei,
iar dușmanii lui vor linge țărâna.
10Regi din Tarșiș10 Colonie feniciană în Spania sau Sardinia. Teritoriu considerat extrema vestică a lumii cunoscute. și din insule
se vor întoarce cu daruri;
regi din Șeba și din Seba
vor aduce tribut.
11I se vor închina toți regii;
toate neamurile îl vor sluji.
12Căci el îl va scăpa pe cel nevoiaș care strigă după ajutor
și pe săracul lipsit de ajutor.
13Va avea milă de cel sărac și nevoiaș,
și va izbăvi viețile celor nevoiași.
14Le va răscumpăra viața de la asuprire și violență,
căci sângele lor prețuiește mult în ochii lui.
15Să trăiască!
Să i se dea din aurul Șebei!
Să se roage pentru el neîncetat
și să‑l binecuvânteze toată ziua!
16Să fie belșug de grâne în țară,
chiar și pe vârful munților!
Să freamăte pomii16 Sau: roada lor, cu referire la grâne. precum cei din Liban,
iar oamenii din cetăți să înflorească la fel ca iarba de pe pământ.16 Sau: Să fie belșug de grâne în țară / să freamăte chiar și pe crestele munților; / pomii ei să înflorească precum cei din Liban / să crească la fel ca iarba pământului.
17Să‑i rămână numele pe vecie!
Să‑i dăinuiască numele cât va fi soare!
Toate neamurile vor fi binecuvântate prin el17 Sau: se vor binecuvânta cu numele lui.
și‑l vor numi fericit!
18Binecuvântat să fie Domnul Dumnezeu, Dumnezeul lui Israel,
Singurul Care face minuni!
19Binecuvântat să‑I fie slăvitul Nume în veci!
Slava Lui să umple întreg pământul!
Amin! Amin!
