But the houses of godly people stand firm.
8A person is praised for how wise they are.
But people hate anyone who has a twisted mind.
9Being nobody and having a servant
is better than pretending to be somebody and having no food.
10Those who do what is right take good care of their animals.
But the kindest acts of those who do wrong are mean.
11Those who farm their land will have plenty of food.
But those who chase dreams have no sense.
12Those who do what is wrong are safe for just a while.
But those who do what is right last forever.
13Those who do evil are trapped by their sinful talk.
But those who have done no wrong escape trouble.

And the work of their hands rewards them.

But a kind word cheers it up.

But the way of sinners leads them down the wrong path.
27Lazy people do not even cook what they catch.
But those who work hard eat their fill of what is hunted.

2Добар човек добија Господњу наклоност,
а он проклиње човека који прави сплетке.
3Поквареношћу се нико неће учврстити,
а корен је праведника непоколебљив.
4Честита је жена круна мужу своме,
а жена раскалашна му је као трулеж у костима.
5Праведни су науми праведника,
а савети покварених су обмана.
6Речи злих људи крв вребају у заседи,
а честити се устима својим ослобађају.
7Зликовци се руше и више их нема,
а дом праведника истрајава.
8Човек се цени према разборитости својој,

а шупљоглавац тежи безвредним стварима.
12Злобник жуди за злим пленом,
а корен праведника је плодоносан.
13Злобнику је замка у греху усана,
а праведник се клони невоље.
14Човек се насити добра плодом уста својих
и врати му се све што рукама ради.
15Безумник сматра да живи исправно,
али је мудар онај ко слуша савет.
16Безумников се гнев одмах препозна,
а ко је обазрив покрива срамоту.
17Кад верни сведок сведочи, он објављује правду,
а лажљиви сведок обмањује.
18Има људи који говоре несмотрено као да боду мачем,
а језик мудрих лечи.
19Истинољубива уста ће довека утврђена бити,
а лажљиви језик ће нестати док трепнем.
20Обмана је у срцу оних што смишљају зло,
а радост следује оне што зову на мир.
21Праведника не сналази никаква невоља,
а зликовци су пуни немира.
22Лажљиве су усне одурне Господу,
а милина су му истинотворци.
23Обазрив човек не открива знање,
а срце будаластих разглашава безумље.
24Рука марљивих људи ће владати,
а ленштина мора да робује.
25Срце што стрепи повија човека,
а добра реч га ведри.
26Праведник бира себи пријатеља,
а неправеднике заводи пут њихов.
27Нема печења за ленштину,
човеку је благо марљивост његова.
28Живот је на путу праведности
и нема смрти на њеној стази.
