1Balaam saw that the Lord was pleased to give his blessing to Israel. So he didn’t try to use evil magic as he had done at other times. Instead, he turned and looked toward the desert. 2He looked out and saw Israel. They had set up their camps tribe by tribe. The Spirit of God came on him. 3Balaam spoke the message he had received from God. He said,
“Here is the message God gave Balaam, the son of Beor.
It’s the message God gave to the one who sees clearly.
4It’s the message God gave to the one who hears the words of God.
He sees a vision from the Mighty One.
He falls down flat with his face toward the ground.
His eyes have been opened by the Lord.
5“People of Jacob, your tents are very beautiful.
Israel, the places where you live are very beautiful.
6“They spread out like valleys.
They are like gardens beside a river.
They are like aloes the Lord has planted.
They are like cedar trees beside a stream.
7Their water buckets will run over.
Their seeds will have plenty of water.
“Their king will be greater than King Agag.
Their kingdom will be honored.
8“God brought them out of Egypt.
They are as strong as a wild ox.
They destroy nations at war with them.
They break their bones in pieces.
They wound them with their arrows.
9Like a male lion they lie down and sleep.
They are like a female lion.
Who dares to wake them up?
“May those who bless you be blessed!
May those who curse you be cursed!”
10Then Balak became very angry with Balaam. He slapped his hands together. He said to Balaam, “I sent for you to put a curse on my enemies. But you have given them a blessing three times. 11Get out of here right away! Go home! I said I’d make you very rich. But the Lord has kept you from getting rich.”
12Balaam answered Balak, “Here is what I told the messengers you sent me. 13I said, ‘Balak could give me all the silver and gold in his palace. Even if I wanted to, I still couldn’t do anything at all that goes beyond what the Lord commands. I must say only what the Lord tells me to say.’ 14Now I’m going back to my people. But come. Let me warn you about what these people will do to your people in days to come.”
Balaam’s Fourth Message From God
15Then Balaam spoke the message he had received from God. He said,
“Here is the message God gave Balaam, the son of Beor.
It’s the message God gave to the one who sees clearly.
16It’s the message God gave to the one who hears the words of God.
The Most High God has given him knowledge.
He sees a vision from the Mighty One.
He falls down flat with his face toward the ground.
His eyes have been opened by the Lord.
17“I see him, but I don’t see him now.
I view him, but he isn’t near.
A star will come from among the people of Jacob.
A king will rise up out of Israel.
He’ll crush the foreheads of the people of Moab.
He’ll crush the heads of all the people of Sheth.
18He’ll win the battle over Edom.
He’ll win the battle over his enemy Seir.
But Israel will grow strong.
19A ruler will come from among the people of Jacob.
He’ll destroy those from the city who are still alive.”
Balaam’s Fifth Message From God
20Then Balaam saw the Amalekites. He spoke the message he had received from God. He said,
“Amalek was the first nation to attack Israel.
But their end will be total destruction.”
Balaam’s Sixth Message From God
21Then Balaam saw the Kenites. He spoke the message he had received from God. He said,
“The place where you live is safe.
Your nest is on a high cliff.
22But you Kenites will be destroyed.
Ashur will take you as prisoners.”
Balaam’s Seventh Message From God
23Then Balaam spoke the message he had received from God. He said,
“Who can live when God does this?
24Ships will come from the shores of Cyprus.
They will bring Ashur and Eber under their control.
But they themselves will also be destroyed.”
25Then Balaam got up and returned home. And Balak went on his way.

Sa baylo, nag-atubang siya sa kamingawan, 2nga sa diin nakita niya ang mga Israelinhon nga nagakampo suno sa ila tagsa-tagsa ka tribo. Dayon gin-gamhan siya sang Espiritu sang Dios, 3kag nagsiling siya, “Ako si Balaam nga anak ni Beor, kag may maathag ako nga paghangop.24:3 paghangop: sa literal, panan-aw. 4Nabatian ko ang mensahi sang Dios, kag nakakita ako sang palanan-awon nga halin sa Makagagahom nga Dios. Nagpaubos ako sa iya, kag ginpahangop niya ako.24:4 ginpahangop niya ako: sa literal, ginbuksan ang akon mga mata. Amo ini ang akon mensahi:
5Daw ano katahom sang mga tolda nga ginaestaran sang katawhan sang Israel nga mga kaliwat ni Jacob.
6Pareho ini sa mga nagakubay nga mga palma,24:6 nagakubay nga mga palma: ukon, nagalapta nga mga ililigan sang tubig. ukon sa mga katamnan sa higad sang suba.
Pareho man ini sa kahoy nga aloe nga gintanom sang Ginoo, ukon sang mga kahoy nga sedro sa higad sang tubig.
7Nagaawas ang mga tubig sa ila mga suludlan, kag nagatanom sila sang liso sa mga duta nga bugana sang tubig.
Ang ila hari mangin gamhanan pa sang sa kay Agag nga hari sang Amaleknon, kag ang ila ginharian mangin bantog.
8Ginpaguwa sila sang Dios sa Egipto; para sa ila, pareho siya sa isa ka makusog nga talunon nga baka.
Panaon kag laglagon nila ang ila mga kaaway; nga daw sa ginalamon nila, kag daw sa ginadugmok nila ang ila mga tul-an.
9Pareho sila sa mga leon nga kon makatulog na wala sing may mangahas sa pagpukaw sa ila.
Pakamaayuhon ang mga nagapakamaayo sa ila kag pakamalauton ang mga nagapakamalaot sa ila.”
10Tungod sini, puwerte ang kaakig ni Balak kay Balaam. Ginhampak niya sang iya inumol ang iya nga palad kag nagsiling siya, “Ginpatawag ko ikaw sa pagpakamalaot sa akon mga kaaway, pero ginbendisyunan mo sila sing tatlo pa ka beses. 11Magpauli ka na lang gilayon! Nagpromisa ako nga bayaran ko ikaw sing maayo, pero indi magsugot ang Ginoo nga mabaton mo ang bayad.” 12Nagsabat si Balaam kay Balak, “Indi bala nga ginsilingan ko ang imo mga mensahero, 13nga bisan ihatag mo pa sa akon ang imo palasyo nga puno sang pilak kag bulawan, indi ako makahimo sang akon kabubut-on, malain man ukon maayo. Kundi kon ano ang ginasiling sang Ginoo sa akon nga akon ihambal, amo lang ang akon ihambal. 14Sige, mapauli na ako sa akon mga kasimanwa. Pero paandaman ko anay ikaw kon ano ang himuon sining mga tawo sa imo mga tawo sa ulihi.”
Ang Ikaapat nga Mensahi ni Balaam
15Dayon ginhambal ni Balaam ini nga mensahi: “Ako si Balaam nga anak ni Beor, kag may maathag ako nga paghangop. 16Nabatian ko ang pulong sang Labing Mataas nga Dios kag ginhatagan niya ako sang paghangop. Nakakita ako sang palanan-awon halin sa Makagagahom nga Dios. Nagpaubos ako sa iya kag ginpaintiendi niya ako. Amo ini ang akon mensahi:
17“May nakita ako sa akon palanan-awon nga wala pa natabo. Sa palaabuton nga mga inadlaw, may magahari24:17 may magahari: sa literal, may magatuhaw nga bituon, may magaguwa nga bulobaston sang hari. sa Israel nga halin sa kaliwat ni Jacob. Laglagon niya ang mga Moabnon kag ang tanan nga kaliwat ni Set. 18Sakupon niya ang Edom nga iya kaaway, nga ginatawag man nga Seir, samtang ang Israel iya magabakod. 19Magadumala ang isa ka pangulo sa Israel24:19 Israel: sa literal, Jacob. kag laglagon niya ang mga nabilin pa nga buhi sa siyudad sang Moab.”
Ang Katapusan nga Mensahi ni Balaam
20Dayon nakita ni Balaam sa iya palanan-awon ang katawhan sang Amalek kag nagsiling siya, “Ang Amalek amo sadto ang nagapanguna sa mga nasyon, pero sa ulihi malaglag ini.”
21Dayon nakita naman ni Balaam sa iya palanan-awon ang mga Kenhanon kag nagsiling siya: “Malig-on ang inyo ginapuy-an, kay nahamtang ini sa bato nga bukid. 22Pero malaglag kamo kon bihagon kamo sang Asiria.”
23Kag nagsiling pa gid si Balaam sini nga mensahi: “Abaw, sin-o bala ang mabuhi kon himuon ini sang Dios? 24Magaabot ang mga barko halin sa Kitim kag sakupon nila ang mga katawhan sang Asiria kag sang Eber, pero ang Kitim malaglag man.”
25Dayon nagpauli si Balaam kag amo man si Balak.
