The Land Will Be Divided Up
1“Here are the tribes. They are listed by their names.
“Dan will receive one share of land. It will be at the northern border of Israel. The border will follow the Hethlon road to Lebo Hamath. Hazar Enan will be part of the border. So will the northern border of Damascus next to Hamath. Dan’s northern border will run from east to west.
2Asher will receive one share. It will border the territory of Dan from east to west.
3Naphtali will receive one share. It will border the territory of Asher from east to west.
4Manasseh will receive one share. It will border the territory of Naphtali from east to west.
5Ephraim will receive one share. It will border the territory of Manasseh from east to west.
6Reuben will receive one share. It will border the territory of Ephraim from east to west.
7Judah will receive one share. It will border the territory of Reuben from east to west.
8“You must give one share as a special gift to me. It will border the territory of Judah from east to west. It will be eight miles wide. It will be as long as the border of each of the territories of the tribes. Its border will run from east to west. The temple will be in the center of that strip of land.
9“Give that special share of land to me. It will be eight miles long and three and a third miles wide. 10It will be the sacred share of land for the priests. It will be eight miles long on the north side. It will be three and a third miles wide on the west side. It will be three and a third miles wide on the east side. And it will be eight miles long on the south side. My temple will be in the center of it. 11This share of land will be for the priests who are set apart to me. They will come from the family line of Zadok. The members of that family served me faithfully. They did not go astray as the Levites and other Israelites did. 12Their share of land will be a special gift to them. It will be part of the sacred share of the land. It will be very holy. Its border will run along the territory of the Levites.
13“The Levites will receive a share. It will be next to the territory of the priests. The Levites’ share will be eight miles long and three and a third miles wide. 14They must not sell or trade any of it. It is the best part of the land. It must not be handed over to anyone else. It is set apart to me.
15“The area that remains is one and two-thirds miles wide. It is eight miles long. It will not be holy. The people in Jerusalem can build houses there. They can use some of it as grasslands. The city will be in the center of it. 16Each of the four sides of the city will be one and a half miles long. 17Each of the four sides of the city’s grasslands will be 440 feet long. 18What remains of the area will be three and a third miles long on the east and west sides. Its border will run along the border of the sacred share. Its crops will supply food for the city workers. 19They will farm the area. They will come from all the tribes of Israel. 20The entire area will be a square. Each of its four sides will be eight miles long. Set the sacred share apart as a special gift to me. Do the same thing with the property of the city.
21“The area that remains on both sides will belong to the prince. So his land does not include the sacred share and the property of the city. The eastern part of his land will reach from the sacred share all the way to the eastern border. The western part will reach from the sacred share to the western border. The sacred share itself is eight miles long on its east and west sides. Both of those areas will be right next to the borders of the two tribes on the north and south sides. They will belong to the prince. The sacred share will be in the center of them. It will have the temple in it. 22The property of the Levites will lie in the center of the prince’s share. So will the property of the city. The prince’s land will lie between the borders of the tribes of Judah and Benjamin.
23“Here is the land for the rest of the tribes.
“Benjamin will receive one share. It will reach from the eastern border to the western border.
24Simeon will receive one share. It will border the territory of Benjamin from east to west.
25Issachar will receive one share. It will border the territory of Simeon from east to west.
26Zebulun will receive one share. It will border the territory of Issachar from east to west.
27Gad will receive one share. It will border the territory of Zebulun from east to west.
28The southern border of Gad will run south from Tamar to the waters of Meribah Kadesh. It will continue along the Wadi of Egypt. It will end at the Mediterranean Sea.
29“This is the land you must divide among the tribes of Israel. And these will be the shares they will receive,” announces the Lord and King.
The Gates of the New City
30“Here is a list of the gates of the city.
“Start with its north side. It will be a mile and a half long. 31The city gates will be named after the tribes of Israel. The north side will have three gates. They will be the gates of Reuben, Judah and Levi.
32The east side will be a mile and a half long. It will have three gates. They will be the gates of Joseph, Benjamin and Dan.
33The south side will be a mile and a half long. It will have three gates. They will be the gates of Simeon, Issachar and Zebulun.
34The west side will be a mile and a half long. It will have three gates. They will be the gates of Gad, Asher and Naphtali.
35“The city will be six miles around.
“From that time on, its name will be ‘The Lord Is There.’ ”

Será de veinticinco mil codos48:8 Es decir, aprox. 13 km; también en vv. 9, 10, 13, 15, 20 y 21. de ancho y de este a oeste su longitud será la misma que la de los otros territorios. En medio de esta porción estará el santuario.
9»La parcela que ustedes deben reservar para el Señor tendrá veinticinco mil codos de largo por diez mil codos48:9 Es decir, aprox. 5.3 km de ancho; también en vv. 10, 13 y 18. de ancho. 10Dentro de esta parcela sagrada, a los sacerdotes corresponderá una sección exclusiva que medirá veinticinco mil codos por el norte y diez mil codos por el oeste, diez mil codos por el este y veinticinco mil codos por el sur. En medio de ella se levantará el santuario del Señor. 11Esta sección estará destinada a los sacerdotes consagrados, descendientes de Sadoc, que cuando se descarrió el pueblo de Israel se encargaron de mi servicio y no se descarriaron, como los levitas. 12Y será para ellos una ofrenda especial de la tierra, un lugar santísimo, que limita con el territorio de los levitas.
13»También los levitas tendrán una parcela de veinticinco mil codos de largo por diez mil codos de ancho, a lo largo del territorio de los sacerdotes. En total, la parcela reservada tendrá veinticinco mil codos de largo por diez mil codos de ancho. 14No se podrá vender ni cambiar nada de ella. Esta es la mejor tierra y no debe pasar a otras manos, pues está consagrada al Señor.
15»La sección restante de cinco mil codos48:15 Es decir, aprox. 2.7 km. de ancho por veinticinco mil codos de largo es terreno profano. Se dedicará al uso común de la ciudad, para la construcción de viviendas y para pastizales. La ciudad quedará en el centro. 16Medirá cuatro mil quinientos codos48:16 Es decir, aprox. 2.4 km; también en vv. 30, 32, 33 y 34. de largo por el lado norte y lo mismo por sus lados sur, este y oeste. 17Los pastizales de la ciudad medirán doscientos cincuenta codos48:17 Es decir, aprox. 135 m. de ancho alrededor de toda la ciudad. 18A los costados de la ciudad quedará una sección, junto a la parcela consagrada, que tendrá diez mil codos de largo por la parte este, y otros tantos por el oeste. Todo lo que allí se produzca servirá de alimento para los trabajadores de la ciudad. 19Ellos la cultivarán sin importar a qué tribu pertenezcan. 20Toda la parcela consagrada, incluso lo que pertenece a la ciudad, formará un cuadrado de veinticinco mil codos por lado.
21»El terreno que quede a ambos lados de la parcela consagrada y de la que pertenece a la ciudad será para el príncipe. A él le tocará una parcela de veinticinco mil codos por el lado este, hasta la frontera oriental, y veinticinco mil codos por el oeste, hasta la frontera occidental. Todo esto quedará paralelo a las otras secciones. En el centro estarán la parcela consagrada y el santuario del Templo. 22Así mismo, la propiedad de los levitas y la de la ciudad se ubicarán entre las fronteras de Judá y Benjamín, en medio de la parcela que corresponde al príncipe.
23»En cuanto a las demás tribus:
»A Benjamín le tocará una sección de este a oeste.
24Debajo de Benjamín, a Simeón le tocará una sección de este a oeste.
25Debajo de Simeón, a Isacar le tocará una sección de este a oeste.
26Debajo de Isacar, a Zabulón le tocará una sección de este a oeste.
27Debajo de Zabulón, a Gad le tocará una sección de este a oeste.
28Debajo de Gad, por el lado sur, la frontera irá desde Tamar hasta el oasis de Meribá Cades y el torrente de Egipto, y hasta el mar Mediterráneo.
29»Este es el territorio que ustedes repartirán por sorteo entre las tribus de Israel y que será su herencia. Así quedará distribuido el territorio», afirma el Señor y Dios.
Las puertas de Jerusalén
30«Estas son las salidas de la ciudad:
»Por el norte, la ciudad medirá cuatro mil quinientos codos de largo. 31Las puertas de la ciudad tendrán los nombres de las tribus de Israel. Al norte habrá tres puertas: la de Rubén, la de Judá y la de Leví.
32Por el este, la ciudad medirá cuatro mil quinientos codos de largo y tendrá tres puertas: la de José, la de Benjamín y la de Dan.
33Por el sur, la ciudad medirá cuatro mil quinientos codos de largo y tendrá tres puertas: la de Simeón, la de Isacar y la de Zabulón.
34Por el oeste, la ciudad medirá cuatro mil quinientos codos de largo y tendrá tres puertas: la de Gad, la de Aser y la de Neftalí.
35»La distancia alrededor de la ciudad será de dieciocho mil codos.48:35 Es decir, aprox. 9.5 km.
»Y desde aquel día el nombre de la ciudad será: “El Señor está allí”».
