To the chief Musician upon Muthlabben, A Psalm of David.
1I will praise thee, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvellous works.
2I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High.
3When mine enemies are turned back, they shall fall and perish at thy presence.
4For thou hast maintained my right and my cause; thou satest in the throne judging right.9.4 maintained…: Heb. made my judgment9.4 judging right: Heb. judging in righteousness
5Thou hast rebuked the heathen, thou hast destroyed the wicked, thou hast put out their name for ever and ever.
6O thou enemy, destructions are come to a perpetual end: and thou hast destroyed cities; their memorial is perished with them.9.6 O thou…: or, The destructions of the enemy are come to a perpetual end: and their cities hast thou destroyed, etc
7But the LORD shall endure for ever: he hath prepared his throne for judgment.
8And he shall judge the world in righteousness, he shall minister judgment to the people in uprightness.
9The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.9.9 a refuge: Heb. an high place
10And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.
11Sing praises to the LORD, which dwelleth in Zion: declare among the people his doings.
12When he maketh inquisition for blood, he remembereth them: he forgetteth not the cry of the humble.9.12 humble: or, afflicted
13Have mercy upon me, O LORD; consider my trouble which I suffer of them that hate me, thou that liftest me up from the gates of death:
14That I may shew forth all thy praise in the gates of the daughter of Zion: I will rejoice in thy salvation.
15The heathen are sunk down in the pit that they made: in the net which they hid is their own foot taken.
16The LORD is known by the judgment which he executeth: the wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. Higgaion. Selah.9.16 Higgaion: that is, Meditation
17The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.
18For the needy shall not alway be forgotten: the expectation of the poor shall not perish for ever.
19Arise, O LORD; let not man prevail: let the heathen be judged in thy sight.
20Put them in fear, O LORD: that the nations may know themselves to be but men. Selah.
خدا، داور عادل
1ای خداوند، با تمام وجود تو را می‌ستايم و از كارهای شگفت‌انگيز تو سخن می‌رانم. 2تو شادی و خوشی من هستی و من در وصف تو، ای خدای متعال، می‌سرايم.
3دشمنانم عقب‌نشينی كرده، در حضور تو بر زمين خواهند افتاد و هلاک خواهند شد، 4زيرا تو ای داور عادل بر مسند خود نشسته‌ای و از حق من دفاع می‌كنی. 5تو قومهای شرور را محكوم و نابود كرده‌ای و نام آنها را از صفحهٔ روزگار محو ساخته‌ای. 6دشمنان ما را به کلی ريشه‌كن نموده‌ای و شهرهای آنها را ويران كرده‌ای به طوری كه حتی نامی از آنها نيز باقی نمانده است.
7خداوند تا به ابد پادشاه است. او مسند داوری خود را برقرار كرده 8تا بر قومهای دنيا با عدل و انصاف داوری نمايد.
9خداوند پناهگاه رنجديدگان است و ايشان را در سختیها حفظ می‌كند.
10خداوندا، كسانی كه تو را می‌شناسند، به تو پناه می‌آورند زيرا تو هرگز طالبان خود را ترک نكرده‌ای.
11در وصف خداوند كه در اورشليم سلطنت می‌كند، بسراييد! كارهای او را در ميان همهٔ قومها اعلام كنيد! 12زيرا او قاتلان را بی‌سزا نخواهد گذاشت و فرياد ستمديدگان را فراموش نخواهد كرد.
13ای خداوند، ببين دشمنانم چگونه به من ظلم می‌كنند. بر من رحم كن و مرا از چنگال مرگ رهايی دِه 14تا تو را در حضور همهٔ مردم اورشليم ستايش كنم و به سبب اين رهايی شادی نمايم.
15دشمنان در چاهی كه برای ديگران كنده بودند، افتاده‌اند و در دامهايی كه برای ديگران گذاشته بودند گرفتار شده‌اند. 16خداوند بدكاران را در دامهای خودشان گرفتار می‌كند و نشان می‌دهد كه خدای عادلی است. 17همهٔ بدكاران و تمام قومهايی كه خدا را از ياد می‌برند هلاک خواهند شد. 18بيچارگان و ستمديدگان سرانجام به ياد آورده خواهند شد و اميدشان بر باد نخواهد رفت.
19ای خداوند، برخيز و قومها را محاكمه كن! نگذار انسان پيروز شود. 20آنها را به وحشت انداز تا بفهمند كه انسان فانی‌ای بيش نيستند.
