1Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.32.1 A Psalm…: or, A Psalm of David giving instruction
2Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.
3When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long.
4For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah.
5I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.
6For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him.32.6 when…: Heb. of finding
7Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.
8I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.32.8 guide…: Heb. counsel thee, mine eye shall be upon thee
9Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding: whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near unto thee.
10Many sorrows shall be to the wicked: but he that trusteth in the LORD, mercy shall compass him about.
11Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.
اعتراف و بخشش
1خوشا به حال كسی كه گناهانش آمرزيده شده و خطاهايش بخشيده شده است! 2خوشا به حال كسی كه خداوند او را مجرم نمی‌شناسد و حيله و تزويری در وجودش نيست.
3گناهم وقتی آن را اعتراف نمی‌كنم، وجود مرا مثل خوره می‌خورد و تمام شب غصه و گريه امانم نمی‌دهد! 4تو، ای خداوند، شب و روز مرا تنبيه می‌كنی، به طوری كه طراوت و شادابی خود را از دست می‌دهم و خرد می‌شوم. 5اما وقتی در حضور تو به گناه خود اعتراف می‌كنم و جرمم را نمی‌پوشانم و به خود می‌گويم: «بايد گناه خود را نزد خداوند اقرار كنم»، تو نيز گناه مرا می‌آمرزی. 6بنابراين، هر شخص با ايمانی به محض آگاه شدن از گناه خود، بايد تا فرصت باقی است آن را در حضور تو اعتراف كند. طوفان حوادث هرگز به چنين شخصی آسيب نخواهد رساند.
7تو پناهگاه من هستی و مرا از بلا حفظ خواهی كرد. دل مرا با سرودهای پيروزی و رهايی شاد خواهی ساخت!
8خداوند می‌فرمايد: «تو را هدايت خواهم نمود و راهی را كه بايد بروی به تو تعليم خواهم داد؛ تو را نصيحت خواهم كرد و چشم از تو برنخواهم داشت! 9پس، مانند اسب و قاطر نباش كه با لگام و افسار هدايت و رام می‌شوند و از خود فهم و شعوری ندارند!»
10غم و غصهٔ اشخاص شرور پايان ندارد؛ اما هر كه به خداوند توكل كند از رحمت او برخوردار خواهد شد. 11ای نيكان، به سبب آنچه خداوند انجام داده است شادی كنيد! ای پاكدلان، بانگ شادی برآوريد!
