7¶ Concerning Edom, thus saith the LORD of hosts; Is wisdom no more in Teman? is counsel perished from the prudent? is their wisdom vanished? 8Flee ye, turn back, dwell deep, O inhabitants of Dedan; for I will bring the calamity of Esau upon him, the time that I will visit him.49.8 turn…: or, they are turned back 9If grapegatherers come to thee, would they not leave some gleaning grapes? if thieves by night, they will destroy till they have enough.49.9 till…: Heb. their sufficiency 10But I have made Esau bare, I have uncovered his secret places, and he shall not be able to hide himself: his seed is spoiled, and his brethren, and his neighbours, and he is not. 11Leave thy fatherless children, I will preserve them alive; and let thy widows trust in me. 12For thus saith the LORD; Behold, they whose judgment was not to drink of the cup have assuredly drunken; and art thou he that shall altogether go unpunished? thou shalt not go unpunished, but thou shalt surely drink of it. 13For I have sworn by myself, saith the LORD, that Bozrah shall become a desolation, a reproach, a waste, and a curse; and all the cities thereof shall be perpetual wastes. 14I have heard a rumour from the LORD, and an ambassador is sent unto the heathen, saying, Gather ye together, and come against her, and rise up to the battle. 15For, lo, I will make thee small among the heathen, and despised among men. 16Thy terribleness hath deceived thee, and the pride of thine heart, O thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, that holdest the height of the hill: though thou shouldest make thy nest as high as the eagle, I will bring thee down from thence, saith the LORD. 17Also Edom shall be a desolation: every one that goeth by it shall be astonished, and shall hiss at all the plagues thereof. 18As in the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighbour cities thereof, saith the LORD, no man shall abide there, neither shall a son of man dwell in it. 19Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the swelling of Jordan against the habitation of the strong: but I will suddenly make him run away from her: and who is a chosen man, that I may appoint over her? for who is like me? and who will appoint me the time? and who is that shepherd that will stand before me?49.19 appoint me…: or, convent me in judgment? 20Therefore hear the counsel of the LORD, that he hath taken against Edom; and his purposes, that he hath purposed against the inhabitants of Teman: Surely the least of the flock shall draw them out: surely he shall make their habitations desolate with them. 21The earth is moved at the noise of their fall, at the cry the noise thereof was heard in the Red sea.49.21 Red sea: Heb. 23¶ Concerning Damascus. Hamath is confounded, and Arpad: for they have heard evil tidings: they are fainthearted; there is sorrow on the sea; it cannot be quiet.49.23 fainthearted: Heb. melted49.23 on…: or, as on the sea 24Damascus is waxed feeble, and turneth herself to flee, and fear hath seized on her: anguish and sorrows have taken her, as a woman in travail. 25How is the city of praise not left, the city of my joy! 26Therefore her young men shall fall in her streets, and all the men of war shall be cut off in that day, saith the LORD of hosts. 27And I will kindle a fire in the wall of Damascus, and it shall consume the palaces of Ben-hadad.
28¶ Concerning Kedar, and concerning the kingdoms of Hazor, which Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon shall smite, thus saith the LORD; Arise ye, go up to Kedar, and spoil the men of the east. 29Their tents and their flocks shall they take away: they shall take to themselves their curtains, and all their vessels, and their camels; and they shall cry unto them, Fear is on every side.
30¶ Flee, get you far off, dwell deep, O ye inhabitants of Hazor, saith the LORD; for Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon hath taken counsel against you, and hath conceived a purpose against you.49.30 get…: Heb. flit greatly 31Arise, get you up unto the wealthy nation, that dwelleth without care, saith the LORD, which have neither gates nor bars, which dwell alone.49.31 wealthy: or, that is at ease 32And their camels shall be a booty, and the multitude of their cattle a spoil: and I will scatter into all winds them that are in the utmost corners; and I will bring their calamity from all sides thereof, saith the LORD.49.32 in…: Heb. cut off into corners, or, that have the corners of their hair polled 33And Hazor shall be a dwelling for dragons, and a desolation for ever: there shall no man abide there, nor any son of man dwell in it.
34¶ The word of the LORD that came to Jeremiah the prophet against Elam in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, saying, 35Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Behold, I will break the bow of Elam, the chief of their might. 36And upon Elam will I bring the four winds from the four quarters of heaven, and will scatter them toward all those winds; and there shall be no nation whither the outcasts of Elam shall not come. 37For I will cause Elam to be dismayed before their enemies, and before them that seek their life: and I will bring evil upon them, even my fierce anger, saith the LORD; and I will send the sword after them, till I have consumed them: 38And I will set my throne in Elam, and will destroy from thence the king and the princes, saith the LORD.
39¶ But it shall come to pass in the latter days, that I will bring again the captivity of Elam, saith the LORD.

7Mao kini ang giingon sa Ginoo nga Makagagahom bahin sa Edom:
“Hain na man ang mga maalamon sa Teman? Wala na bay nahibiling maayong magtatambag? 8Kamong mga namuyo sa Dedan, pangikyas kamo ug tago sa lawom nga mga langub. Kay padad-an kog katalagman ang mga kaliwat ni Esau sa panahon nga silotan ko sila. 9Dili ba nga magbilin man gayod ug mahagdaw ang mga tigpamupo ug ubas? Dili ba nga kon mangawat ang mga kawatan panahon sa kagabhion ang mga butang lang nga ilang gusto maoy ilang kuhaon? 10Apan hutdon ko gayod ug kuha ang tanang kabtangan sa mga kaliwat ni Esau. Himuon kong dayag ang ilang mga tagoanan aron dili na sila makatago. Mangamatay ang ilang kabataan, mga paryente, ug mga silingan. Wala gayoy mahibilin kanila. 11Apan ibilin kanako ang inyong mga nailo kay atimanon ko sila. Ug ang inyong mga biyuda makasalig gayod kanako.”
12Nagpadayon pa gayod sa pag-ingon ang Ginoo, “Kon kadtong dili angay nga silotan masilotan, kamo pa kaha? Silotan ko gayod kamo! 13Gipanumpa ko sa akong kaugalingon nga malaglag ang Bozra. Mahimo kining usa ka makalilisang nga talan-awon, ug biay-biayon kini ug pagagamiton ang iyang ngalan sa pagpanghimaraot. Ang tanang mga lungsod niini magpabiling guba hangtod sa hangtod. Ako, ang Ginoo, ang nagaingon niini.”
14Nadungog ko ang balita gikan sa Ginoo. Nagpadala siyag mensahero ngadto sa mga nasod sa pagsulti kanila nga mangandam alang sa gira ug paghanggat kanila sa pagsulong sa nasod sa Edom. 15Kay nagaingon ang Ginoo ngadto sa mga taga-Edom, “Himuon ko kamong labing ubos sa mga nasod, ug tamayon nila kamo. 16Nagapasigarbo kamo nga nagapuyo kamo sa batoon ug taas nga mga bungtod. Apan gilingla lang kamo sa inyong garbo ug sa inyong pagtuo nga nahadlok kaninyo ang ubang mga nasod. Kay bisan pag himuon ninyong sama kahabog sa gisalagan sa agila ang inyong gipuy-an, pukanon ko kamo. Ako, ang Ginoo, ang nagaingon niini.”
17Nagaingon pa gayod ang Ginoo, “Kalisangan sa mga tawo ang Edom tungod sa nahitabo niini. Ang tanang molabay madismaya nga daw dili makatuo sa nahitabo niining nasora. 18Maingon nga nalaglag ang Sodoma ug Gomora ug ang mga lungsod sa palibot niini, malaglag usab ang Edom. Ug wala na gayoy magpuyo niini. Ako, ang Ginoo, ang nagaingon niini. 19Pakalitan kog sulong ang Edom, sama sa liyon nga gikan sa kalasangan duol sa Suba sa Jordan nga migukod sa mga karnero sa sabsabanan. Patibulaagon ko sila ug padumalahan ko ang Edom sa tawo nga akong pilion. Kinsay ikatandi kanako? Kinsay mangahas pagsukol kanako? 23Mao kini ang mensahe bahin sa Damascus, “Gibati ug kahadlok ang mga taga-Hamat ug taga-Arpad sa daotang balita nga ilang nadungog. Nabalaka sila ug dili mahimutang sama sa dagat nga baloron. 24Nawad-an sa kadasig ang mga taga-Damascus ug nangikyas tungod sa kahadlok. Nataranta, naguol, ug gibati silag kasakit sama sa babayeng nagbati. 25Gitalikdan na ang bantogan ug masadya49:25 masadya: o, akong gikalipay. nga siyudad sa Damascus! 26-27Ang iyang batan-ong mga lalaki, apil ang iyang mga sundalo, mangamatay diha sa kadalanan. 28Mao kini ang gisulti sa Ginoo bahin sa Cedar ug sa mga gingharian sa Hazor nga gisulong ni Nebucadnezar nga hari sa Babilonia:
“Pangandam kamo ug sulonga ninyo ang Cedar! Laglaga ninyo ang katawhan sa sidlakan! 29Iloga ang ilang mga tolda, mga pagkabutang, ug mga kahayopan, apil mga kamelyo. Maninggit sila, ‘Gilibotan kita sa atong makalilisang nga mga kaaway.’
30“Mga taga-Hazor, pagdali kamo sa pag-ikyas! Ako, ang Ginoo, nagaingon nga panago kamo sa mga langub. Nagplano ug daotan batok kaninyo si Nebucadnezar nga hari sa Babilonia. 31Ako, ang Ginoo, nagsugo kanila, ‘Sulonga ang katawhan nga nagapahayahay lang ug walay gikabalak-an. 34Mao kini ang gisulti sa Ginoo kang Propeta Jeremias bahin sa Elam sa nagsugod pa lang sa paghari si Zedekia sa Juda. 35Miingon ang Ginoo nga Makagagahom, “Pamatyon ko ang mga tigpana sa Elam—ang pinakamaayo nilang mga sundalo. 36Sulongon ang Elam sa mga kaaway nga naggikan sa upat ka bahin sa kalibotan ug patibulaagon ko ang iyang mga lumulupyo sa tanang dapit. Ug bihagon sila ngadto sa tanang kanasoran sa kalibotan. 37Laglagon ko sila atubangan sa ilang mga kaaway nga buot mopatay kanila. Sa akong labihan nga kasuko, laglagon ko sila. Ipasulong ko sila sa mga kaaway hangtod nga mahurot silang tanan. 38Ipahimutang ko sa Elam ang akong trono ug hukman ko sila.
