1Again in the ninth year, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 2Son of man, write thee the name of the day, even of this same day: the king of Babylon set himself against Jerusalem this same day. 3And utter a parable unto the rebellious house, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Set on a pot, set it on, and also pour water into it: 4Gather the pieces thereof into it, even every good piece, the thigh, and the shoulder; fill it with the choice bones. 5Take the choice of the flock, and burn also the bones under it, and make it boil well, and let them seethe the bones of it therein.24.5 burn: or, heap
6¶ Wherefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe to the bloody city, to the pot whose scum is therein, and whose scum is not gone out of it! bring it out piece by piece; let no lot fall upon it. 7For her blood is in the midst of her; she set it upon the top of a rock; she poured it not upon the ground, to cover it with dust; 8That it might cause fury to come up to take vengeance; I have set her blood upon the top of a rock, that it should not be covered. 9Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe to the bloody city! I will even make the pile for fire great. 10Heap on wood, kindle the fire, consume the flesh, and spice it well, and let the bones be burned. 11Then set it empty upon the coals thereof, that the brass of it may be hot, and may burn, and that the filthiness of it may be molten in it, that the scum of it may be consumed. 12She hath wearied herself with lies, and her great scum went not forth out of her: her scum shall be in the fire. 13In thy filthiness is lewdness: because I have purged thee, and thou wast not purged, thou shalt not be purged from thy filthiness any more, till I have caused my fury to rest upon thee. 14I the LORD have spoken it: it shall come to pass, and I will do it; I will not go back, neither will I spare, neither will I repent; according to thy ways, and according to thy doings, shall they judge thee, saith the Lord GOD.
15¶ Also the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 16Son of man, behold, I take away from thee the desire of thine eyes with a stroke: yet neither shalt thou mourn nor weep, neither shall thy tears run down.24.16 run down: Heb. go 17Forbear to cry, make no mourning for the dead, bind the tire of thine head upon thee, and put on thy shoes upon thy feet, and cover not thy lips, and eat not the bread of men.24.17 Forbear: Heb. 19¶ And the people said unto me, Wilt thou not tell us what these things are to us, that thou doest so? 20Then I answered them, The word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 21Speak unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will profane my sanctuary, the excellency of your strength, the desire of your eyes, and that which your soul pitieth; and your sons and your daughters whom ye have left shall fall by the sword.24.21 that…: Heb. the pity of your soul 22And ye shall do as I have done: ye shall not cover your lips, nor eat the bread of men. 23And your tires shall be upon your heads, and your shoes upon your feet: ye shall not mourn nor weep; but ye shall pine away for your iniquities, and mourn one toward another. 24Thus Ezekiel is unto you a sign: according to all that he hath done shall ye do: and when this cometh, ye shall know that I am the Lord GOD. 25Also, thou son of man, shall it not be in the day when I take from them their strength, the joy of their glory, the desire of their eyes, and that whereupon they set their minds, their sons and their daughters,24.25 that…: Heb. the lifting up of their soul 26That he that escapeth in that day shall come unto thee, to cause thee to hear it with thine ears? 27In that day shall thy mouth be opened to him which is escaped, and thou shalt speak, and be no more dumb: and thou shalt be a sign unto them; and they shall know that I am the LORD.
ديگ زنگ زده
1در روز دهم ماه دهم از سال نهم تبعيدمان، از جانب خداوند پيغامی ديگر به من رسيد، او فرمود:
2«ای انسان خاكی، تاريخ امروز را يادداشت كن، زيرا در همين روز پادشاه بابل محاصرهٔ اورشليم را آغاز كرده است. 3سپس برای قوم ياغی اسرائيل اين مثل را تعريف كن و از جانب من به ايشان چنين بگو:
«ديگی را از آب پر سازيد و بر آتش بگذاريد. 4آن را از بهترين گوشت ران و راسته و از بهترين استخوانها پر كنيد. 5-6برای اين كار، بهترين گوسفندان گله را سر ببريد. زير ديگ، هيزم بسيار بگذاريد. گوشت را آنقدر بپزيد تا از استخوان جدا شود. سپس تكه‌های گوشت را از آن بيرون آوريد تا حتی يک تكه نيز باقی نماند.»
آنگاه خداوند چنين ادامه داد: «وای بر تو ای اورشليم، ای شهر جنايتكاران! تو چون ديگی زنگ زده هستی كه هرگز زنگ آن زدوده نشده است. 7شرارت اورشليم بر همه آشكار است؛ در آنجا آدم می‌كشند و خونشان را بر روی سنگها باقی می‌گذارند تا همه ببينند؛ حتی سعی نمی‌كنند كه آن را بپوشانند! 8من نيز، خونی را كه روی سنگها ريخته شده، همانطور باقی گذاشته‌ام و آن را نپوشانده‌ام تا همواره نزد من فرياد كرده، مرا به خشم بياورد تا از آن شهر انتقام بگيرم.
9«وای بر اورشليم، شهر قاتلين! من تودهٔ هيزم زير آن را خواهم افزود! 10هيزم بياوريد! بگذاريد آتش زبانه بكشد و ديگ بجوشد! گوشت را خوب بپزيد! استخوانها را بيرون بياوريد و بسوزانيد! 11سپس ديگ خالی را روی آتش بگذاريد تا سرخ شده، زنگ و فسادش زدوده و پاک شود. 12اما اين كار نيز بيهوده است، چون با وجود حرارت زياد آتش، رنگ و فسادش از بين نمی‌رود. 13اين زنگ و فساد، همان عياشی و بت‌پرستی مردم اورشليم است! بسيار كوشيدم كه طاهرش سازم، اما نخواستند. بنابراين در فساد و ناپاكی خود خواهند ماند تا زمانی كه خشم و غضب خود را بر ايشان بريزم. 14من كه خداوند هستم، اين را گفته‌ام و به يقين آنچه گفته‌ام واقع خواهد شد. از گناهان ايشان نخواهم گذشت و رحم نخواهم نمود، بلكه ايشان را به سزای اعمالشان خواهم رسانيد!»
مرگ همسر حزقيال
15خداوند پيغامی ديگر به من داد و فرمود:
16«ای انسان خاكی، قصد دارم جان زن محبوبت را به ناگه بگيرم! اما تو ماتم نگير، برايش گريه نكن و اشک نريز. 17فقط آه بكش اما خيلی آرام؛ نگذار بر سر قبرش شيون و زاری كنند؛ به رسم سوگواری، سر و پايت را برهنه نكن، صورتت را نپوشان و خوراک عزاداران را نخور!»
18بامدادان اين موضوع را به قوم گفتم و غروب آن روز، همسرم درگذشت. صبح روز بعد، همانگونه كه خداوند فرموده بود، عمل كردم.
19آنگاه قوم به من گفتند: «منظورت از اين كارها چيست؟ چه چيزی را می‌خواهی به ما بفهمانی؟»
20-21جواب دادم: «خداوند فرموده تا به شما بگويم كه او خانه مقدسش را كه مايه افتخار و دلخوشی شماست و اينقدر آرزوی ديدنش را داريد، از ميان خواهد برد! و همچنين خواهد گذاشت كه پسران و دختران شما كه در سرزمين يهودا باقی مانده‌اند، با شمشير كشته شوند. 22آنگاه شما نيز مانند من رفتار خواهيد كرد، يعنی صورت خود را نخواهيد پوشاند، خوراک عزاداران را نخواهيد خورد، 23و به رسم سوگواری سر و پای خود را برهنه نخواهيد كرد؛ ماتم و گريه نخواهيد نمود، بلكه به سبب گناهانتان اندوهناک شده، در خفا با يكديگر ماتم خواهيد گرفت. 24من برای شما علامتی هستم؛ همان كاری را كه من كردم، شما نيز خواهيد كرد. هنگامی كه اين پيشگويی واقع شود، خواهيد دانست كه او خداوند است!»
25خداوند فرمود: «ای انسان خاكی، اينک من در اورشليم عبادتگاهی را كه مايه قدرت، شادی و افتخار قومم است و در آرزوی ديدنش می‌باشند، و نيز زنان و پسران و دختران ايشان را از بين خواهم برد. 26در آن روز، هر كه رهايی يابد، از اورشليم به بابل خواهد آمد و تو را از آنچه كه اتفاق افتاده است، آگاه خواهد ساخت. 27در همان روز، قدرت سخن گفتن را كه از دست داده‌ای، باز خواهی يافت و با او گفتگو خواهی كرد. بدين‌سان برای اين قوم نشانه و علامتی خواهی بود و ايشان خواهند دانست كه من خداوند هستم!»
