1私は主をほめたたえます。
神は私を敵の手から助け出し、
敵が勝ち誇るのをお許しにならなかったからです。
2ああ主よ。主は私の願いを聞き入れて、
元の健康な体に戻してくださいました。
3墓の入口から、連れ戻してくださいました。
おかげで、こうして生きることができます。
4主を信じる人よ。主を賛美し、
主のきよい御名に感謝しなさい。
5主の怒りはつかの間ですが、
その恵みは生きる限り続きます。
たとえ、夜通し泣き明かすことがあっても、
朝には喜びが訪れます。
6-7順境の日に、私は言いました。
「いつまでも今のままだ。
だれも私のじゃまはできない。
主が恵んでくださって、
私をびくともしない山のようにしてくださった。」
ところが、神は顔をそむけて、
祝福の川をからしたのです。
たちまち私は意気消沈し、恐怖におびえました。
8ああ主よ。私は大声でお願いしました。
9「主よ、私を殺したって、一文の得にもなりません。
生きていてこそ、友人の前で
あなたをたたえることができるのです。
墓に埋められたら、どうしてあなたの真実を
世間に知らせることができましょう。
10ああ主よ、どうか私をあわれみ、助けてください。」
11すると、神は嘆きを喜びに変え、喪服を脱がせて、
きらびやかな晴れ着を着せてくださいました。
12墓に埋められることなく、
神に喜ばしい賛美の歌声を上げるためです。
ああ神、主よ。
私はいつまでもこの感謝の気持ちを忘れません。

1I will extol thee, O LORD; for thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made my foes to rejoice over me.
2O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.
3O LORD, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.

11Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness;
