(บทประพันธ์ของโซโลมอน)
1ข้าแต่พระเจ้า ขอประทานความยุติธรรมของพระองค์แก่กษัตริย์องค์นั้น
และความชอบธรรมของพระองค์แก่ราชโอรส
2กษัตริย์จะ72:2 หรือขอให้กษัตริย์เช่นเดียวกับข้อ 3-11 และ 17พิพากษาประชากรของพระองค์ด้วยความชอบธรรม
ให้ความยุติธรรมแก่ผู้ทุกข์ลำเค็ญ
3ขอให้ภูเขานำความมั่งคั่งมาสู่ประชาชน
เนินเขาให้ผลผลิตแห่งความชอบธรรม
4ขอให้ท่านปกป้องผู้ทุกข์ลำเค็ญในหมู่ประชาชน
และช่วยกู้ลูกหลานของผู้ยากไร้
ขอให้ท่านบดขยี้คนที่ข่มเหงรังแกเขา
5ขอให้ท่านยืนยง72:5 ภาษาฮีบรูว่าท่านจะเป็นที่เกรงขามดั่งดวงอาทิตย์
ดั่งดวงจันทร์อยู่คู่ฟ้า คือตลอดทุกชั่วอายุคน
6ขอให้ท่านเป็นเหมือนฝนที่ตกลงมารดทุ่งหญ้าโล่งเตียน
เหมือนสายฝนที่รดผืนแผ่นดิน
7ผู้ชอบธรรมจะเจริญรุ่งเรืองในรัชกาลของท่าน
มีความผาสุกรุ่งเรืองไปจนกว่าดวงจันทร์จะดับสูญ
8ขอให้ท่านครอบครองจากทะเลฟากหนึ่งจดทะเลอีกฟากหนึ่ง
จากแม่น้ำนั้น72:8 คือ แม่น้ำยูเฟรติสจนสุดโลก72:8 หรือสุดปลายแผ่นดิน
9ขอให้ชนเผ่าต่างๆ ในถิ่นกันดารหมอบกราบท่าน
ศัตรูของท่านจะสยบลงคลุกฝุ่น
10ขอให้บรรดากษัตริย์แห่งทารชิชและแห่งหมู่เกาะทั้งหลาย
นำเครื่องบรรณาการมาถวายท่าน
เหล่ากษัตริย์จากเชบาและเสบา
จะนำของกำนัลมาถวาย
11ขอให้เหล่ากษัตริย์มาน้อมคำนับท่าน
ประชาชาติทั้งปวงจะมาปรนนิบัติท่าน
12เพราะท่านจะช่วยกู้คนยากไร้ผู้ร้องทุกข์
ช่วยเหลือผู้ทุกข์ลำเค็ญซึ่งไม่มีใครช่วย
13ท่านมีใจสงสารผู้ที่อ่อนแอและขัดสน
และช่วยชีวิตผู้ยากไร้ลำเค็ญ
14ท่านจะช่วยเขาให้พ้นจากการกดขี่ข่มเหง และจากความทารุณโหดร้าย
เพราะโลหิตของเขามีค่าในสายตาของท่าน
15ขอให้ท่านอายุยืนนาน!
ขอให้มีผู้นำทองคำจากเชบามาถวายท่าน
ขอให้มีผู้อธิษฐานเผื่อท่านตลอดไป
และอวยพรแก่ท่านตลอดวันเวลา
16ขอให้ข้าวอุดมทั่วแผ่นดิน
แม้บนยอดเขาก็ยังชูรวงแกว่งไกวไปมา
ขอให้พืชผลงอกงามดั่งเลบานอน
ขอให้เจริญงอกงามดั่งหญ้าแห่งท้องทุ่ง
17ขอให้นามของท่านเลื่องลือตลอดกาล
และยั่งยืนดั่งดวงอาทิตย์
มวลประชาชาติจะได้รับพรเพราะท่าน
และพวกเขาจะเรียกท่านว่าผู้ได้รับพระพร
18ขอถวายสรรเสริญแด่พระเจ้าพระยาห์เวห์พระเจ้าแห่งอิสราเอล
พระองค์ผู้เดียวทรงกระทำพระราชกิจอันมหัศจรรย์
19ขอถวายสรรเสริญแด่พระนามอันรุ่งโรจน์ของพระองค์ตลอดนิรันดร์
ขอให้ทั่วโลกเต็มไปด้วยพระเกียรติสิริของพระองค์

Psalm 72
Of Solomon.
1Endow the king with your justice, O God,
the royal son with your righteousness.
2May he judge your people in righteousness,
your afflicted ones with justice.
3May the mountains bring prosperity to the people,
the hills the fruit of righteousness.
4May he defend the afflicted among the people
and save the children of the needy;
may he crush the oppressor.
5May he endure72:5 Septuagint; Hebrew You will be feared as long as the sun,
as long as the moon, through all generations.
6May he be like rain falling on a mown field,
like showers watering the earth.
7In his days may the righteous flourish
and prosperity abound till the moon is no more.
8May he rule from sea to sea
and from the River72:8 That is, the Euphrates to the ends of the earth.
9May the desert tribes bow before him
and his enemies lick the dust.
10May the kings of Tarshish and of distant shores
bring tribute to him.
May the kings of Sheba and Seba
present him gifts.
11May all kings bow down to him
and all nations serve him.
12For he will deliver the needy who cry out,
the afflicted who have no one to help.
13He will take pity on the weak and the needy
and save the needy from death.
14He will rescue them from oppression and violence,
for precious is their blood in his sight.
15Long may he live!
May gold from Sheba be given him.
May people ever pray for him
and bless him all day long.
16May grain abound throughout the land;
on the tops of the hills may it sway.
May the crops flourish like Lebanon

17May his name endure forever;
may it continue as long as the sun.

who alone does marvelous deeds.
19Praise be to his glorious name forever;
may the whole earth be filled with his glory.
