พระเยซูทรงรับการชโลมที่เบธานี
(มธ.26:2-16; ลก.22:1-6)
1อีกสองวันจะถึงเทศกาลปัสกาและเทศกาลขนมปังไม่ใส่เชื้อ พวกหัวหน้าปุโรหิตกับธรรมาจารย์กำลังหาอุบายที่จะจับพระเยซูมาฆ่า 2เขาพูดกันว่า “แต่อย่าลงมือช่วงเทศกาลเลยมิฉะนั้นประชาชนจะก่อการจลาจล”
3ที่หมู่บ้านเบธานีขณะพระเยซูทรงนั่งรับประทานอาหารอยู่ที่โต๊ะอาหารในบ้านของซีโมนคนโรคเรื้อน หญิงคนหนึ่งถือขวดน้ำมันหอมราคาแพงมากมา น้ำมันหอมนั้นทำจากเครื่องหอมบริสุทธิ์ นางเปิดขวดและรินน้ำมันหอมลงบนพระเศียรของพระองค์
4บางคนที่นั่นไม่พอใจ ต่างพูดกันว่า “ทำให้น้ำมันหอมเสียไปเปล่าๆ ทำไม? 5ถ้านำไปขายคงจะได้เงินมากกว่าค่าจ้างคนงานทั้งปี14:5 ภาษากรีกว่ามากกว่า 300 เดนาริอันซึ่ง 1 เดนาริอันมีค่าเท่ากับค่าแรง 1 วัน จะได้เอาเงินไปให้คนยากจน” และพวกเขาตำหนินางอย่างรุนแรง
6พระเยซูตรัสว่า “อย่ายุ่งกับนาง ไปกวนใจนางทำไม? หญิงคนนี้ได้ทำสิ่งดีงามให้เรา 7ท่านจะมีคนยากจนอยู่กับท่านเสมอและท่านสามารถช่วยพวกเขาได้ทุกเวลาตามที่ท่านต้องการ แต่เราจะไม่ได้อยู่กับท่านเสมอไป 8หญิงคนนี้ทำเท่าที่นางทำได้ นางรินน้ำหอมลงบนกายของเราเป็นการเตรียมสำหรับพิธีศพของเราไว้ล่วงหน้า 9เราบอกความจริงแก่ท่านว่าไม่ว่าข่าวประเสริฐจะเผยแผ่ไปที่ใดๆ ทั่วโลก สิ่งที่นางได้ทำก็จะถูกเล่าขานไปเป็นการระลึกถึงนาง”
10แล้วยูดาสอิสคาริโอทหนึ่งในสาวกสิบสองคนก็ไปพบพวกหัวหน้าปุโรหิตเพื่อจะมอบพระเยซูให้คนเหล่านั้น 11พวกหัวหน้าปุโรหิตฟังแล้วก็ดีใจ และสัญญาจะให้เงินแก่ยูดาส เขาจึงจ้องหาโอกาสที่จะมอบพระองค์แก่พวกนั้น
พระเยซูเสวยปัสกากับเหล่าสาวก
(มธ.26:17-30; ลก.22:7-23)
12วันแรกของเทศกาลขนมปังไม่ใส่เชื้อซึ่งตามธรรมเนียมจะถวายแกะปัสกา เหล่าสาวกของพระเยซูมาทูลถามพระองค์ว่า “พระองค์ทรงประสงค์ให้จัดเตรียมปัสกาสำหรับเสวยที่ไหน?”
13พระองค์จึงทรงส่งสาวกสองคนไปพร้อมทั้งตรัสว่า “จงเข้าไปในเมือง จะมีชายคนหนึ่งทูนหม้อน้ำมาพบท่าน จงตามคนนั้นไป 14จงบอกเจ้าของบ้านที่ชายคนนั้นเดินเข้าไปว่า ‘พระอาจารย์ตรัสถามว่าห้องรับรองแขกที่พระองค์จะเสวยปัสการ่วมกับเหล่าสาวกอยู่ที่ไหน?’ 15เขาจะพาไปดูห้องใหญ่ชั้นบนซึ่งตกแต่งเตรียมไว้เรียบร้อยแล้ว จงเตรียมปัสกาให้เราที่นั่น”
16สาวกทั้งสองก็เข้าไปในเมืองและได้พบสิ่งต่างๆ ตามที่พระเยซูตรัส เขาจึงเตรียมปัสกา
17พอพลบค่ำพระเยซูเสด็จมาพร้อมกับสาวกทั้งสิบสองคน 18ขณะที่นั่งรับประทานอาหารอยู่ที่โต๊ะอาหารพระเยซูตรัสว่า “เราบอกความจริงแก่ท่านว่าคนหนึ่งในพวกท่านจะทรยศเรา คือผู้ที่กำลังรับประทานอาหารกับเรา”
19เหล่าสาวกก็เสียใจและทูลพระองค์ทีละคนว่า “ไม่ใช่ข้าพระองค์แน่ใช่ไหม?”
20พระเยซูตรัสว่า “เขาเป็นหนึ่งในสาวกสิบสองคน เป็นคนที่หยิบอาหารจุ่มในชามเดียวกับเรา 21บุตรมนุษย์จะต้องไปตามที่มีเขียนไว้แต่วิบัติแก่ผู้นั้นที่ทรยศบุตรมนุษย์! ถ้าเขาไม่ได้เกิดมาก็ยังจะดีกับตัวเขาเองมากกว่า”
พิธีมหาสนิท
(มธ.26:26-29; ลก.22:15-20; 1คร.11:23-26)
22ขณะรับประทานอาหารพระเยซูทรงหยิบขนมปัง ทรงขอบพระคุณพระเจ้าแล้วหักส่งให้เหล่าสาวกพร้อมทั้งตรัสว่า “จงรับไปรับประทานเถิด นี่เป็นกายของเรา”
23แล้วพระองค์ทรงหยิบถ้วย ทรงขอบพระคุณพระเจ้าและยื่นให้กับพวกเขา และพวกเขาทุกคนก็ดื่ม
24พระองค์ตรัสกับพวกเขาว่า “นี่คือโลหิตของเราอันเป็นโลหิตแห่งพันธสัญญา14:24 สำเนาต้นฉบับบางสำเนาว่าพันธสัญญาใหม่ซึ่งหลั่งรินเพื่อคนเป็นอันมาก 25เราบอกความจริงแก่ท่านว่าเราจะไม่ดื่มน้ำจากผลองุ่นนี้อีกจนกว่าจะถึงวันนั้นที่เราดื่มใหม่ในอาณาจักรของพระเจ้า”
26เมื่อร้องเพลงสรรเสริญแล้วพวกเขาก็ออกไปยังภูเขามะกอกเทศ
พระเยซูทรงทำนายว่าเปโตรจะปฏิเสธพระองค์
(มธ.26:31-35)
27พระเยซูตรัสแก่เหล่าสาวกว่า “พวกท่านจะทิ้งเราไปกันหมด เพราะมีเขียนไว้ว่า
“ ‘เราจะฟาดฟันคนเลี้ยงแกะ
และแกะจะกระจัดกระจายไป’14:27 ศคย. 13:7
28แต่หลังจากที่เราเป็นขึ้นเราจะไปยังกาลิลีก่อนหน้าท่าน”
29เปโตรประกาศว่า “ถึงใครๆ ทิ้งพระองค์ไปหมดแต่ข้าพระองค์จะไม่ทิ้งพระองค์”
30พระเยซูตรัสตอบว่า “เราบอกความจริงแก่ท่านว่าวันนี้คืนนี้ก่อนไก่ขันสองหน14:30 สำเนาต้นฉบับเก่าแก่บางสำเนาไม่มีคำว่าสองหนท่านเองจะปฏิเสธเราสามครั้ง”
31แต่เปโตรยังยืนยันแข็งขันว่า “ถึงแม้ข้าพระองค์ต้องตายกับพระองค์ ข้าพระองค์จะไม่มีวันปฏิเสธพระองค์” แล้วสาวกที่เหลือก็พูดแบบเดียวกัน
เกทเสมนี
(มธ.26:36-46; ลก.22:40-46)
32พวกเขามายังที่แห่งหนึ่งเรียกว่าเกทเสมนี พระเยซูตรัสกับเหล่าสาวกว่า “จงนั่งอยู่ที่นี่ขณะที่เราไปอธิษฐาน” 33พระองค์ทรงพาเปโตร ยากอบ และยอห์นไปกับพระองค์ด้วย ทรงเศร้าโศกและเป็นทุกข์ยิ่งนัก 34พระองค์ตรัสกับพวกเขาว่า “จิตวิญญาณของเราท่วมท้นด้วยความเศร้าโศกทุกข์หนักแทบจะตาย จงเฝ้าระวังอยู่ที่นี่”
35พระองค์ทรงดำเนินเลยไปอีกหน่อยหนึ่งแล้วซบลงที่พื้นและทรงอธิษฐานว่าหากเป็นไปได้ขอให้ชั่วโมงนั้นผ่านพ้นไปจากพระองค์ 36พระองค์ทรงทูลว่า “อับบา14:36 เป็นภาษาอาราเมค หมายถึงพ่อ พระบิดาเจ้าข้า ทุกสิ่งเป็นไปได้สำหรับพระองค์ ขอทรงเอาถ้วยนี้ไปจากข้าพระองค์ อย่างไรก็ตามอย่าให้เป็นไปตามใจของข้าพระองค์แต่ขอให้เป็นไปตามพระประสงค์ของพระองค์”
37แล้วพระองค์ทรงกลับมาหาสาวกเหล่านั้นและพบว่าพวกเขานอนหลับอยู่จึงตรัสกับเปโตรว่า “ซีโมน ท่านหลับอยู่หรือ? จะคอยเฝ้าระวังอยู่สักชั่วโมงเดียวไม่ได้เชียวหรือ? 38จงเฝ้าระวังและอธิษฐานเพื่อท่านจะไม่ตกเข้าไปอยู่ในการทดลอง จิตวิญญาณพร้อมแล้วก็จริงแต่กายยังอ่อนกำลัง”
39แล้วพระองค์เสด็จไปอธิษฐานอย่างเดียวกันอีกครั้งหนึ่ง 40เมื่อเสด็จกลับมาก็พบว่าพวกเขายังคงหลับอยู่เพราะเขาง่วงมากจนลืมตาไม่ขึ้น พวกเขาไม่รู้จะทูลพระองค์ว่าอย่างไร
41เมื่อทรงกลับมาเป็นครั้งที่สามพระองค์ตรัสกับพวกเขาว่า “พวกท่านยังนอนหลับพักผ่อนอยู่อีกหรือ? พอเถอะ! ถึงเวลาแล้ว ดูเถิด บุตรมนุษย์กำลังจะถูกทรยศให้ตกอยู่ในมือของคนบาปแล้ว 42ลุกขึ้น! ไปกันเถิด! ผู้ทรยศเรามาแล้ว!”
พระเยซูถูกจับกุม
(มธ.26:47-56; ลก.22:47-50; ยน.18:3-11)
43พระองค์ตรัสยังไม่ทันขาดคำ ยูดาสหนึ่งในสาวกสิบสองคนก็ปรากฏตัวขึ้น มีคนกลุ่มใหญ่ถือดาบถือกระบองมากับเขาด้วย พวกหัวหน้าปุโรหิต ธรรมาจารย์ และเหล่าผู้อาวุโสเป็นผู้ส่งคนเหล่านี้มา
44ผู้ทรยศได้ตกลงเรื่องอาณัติสัญญาณกับพวกเขาว่า “ผู้ที่เราจูบคือผู้นั้น ให้จับกุมและคุมตัวเขาไป” 45ยูดาสตรงเข้ามาหาพระเยซูทันทีและทูลว่า “รับบี!” แล้วจูบพระองค์ 46พวกนั้นจึงจับกุมพระเยซู 47แล้วคนหนึ่งซึ่งยืนอยู่ใกล้ๆ ก็ชักดาบออกมาฟันหูบ่าวของมหาปุโรหิตขาด
48พระเยซูตรัสว่า “เราก่อการกบฏหรือ? ท่านจึงได้ถือดาบถือกระบองมาจับเรา 49ทุกวันเราอยู่กับพวกท่าน สั่งสอนอยู่ในลานพระวิหารท่านก็ไม่มาจับกุมเรา แต่จะต้องเป็นจริงตามพระคัมภีร์” 50แล้วทุกคนก็ทิ้งพระองค์และหนีกันไปหมด
51ชายหนุ่มคนหนึ่งมีแต่ผ้าลินินห่มกายได้ติดตามพระเยซูไป เมื่อคนเหล่านั้นจับกุมเขา 52เขาก็สลัดผ้าทิ้งแล้วหนีไปทั้งๆ ที่เปลือยกาย
ต่อหน้าสภาแซนเฮดริน
(มธ.26:57-68; ลก.22:67-71; ยน.18:12,13,19-24)
53พวกเขานำพระเยซูมาพบมหาปุโรหิต ขณะนั้นพวกหัวหน้าปุโรหิต ธรรมาจารย์ และเหล่าผู้อาวุโสมาชุมนุมกันอยู่ 54เปโตรตามพระเยซูมาห่างๆ จนถึงลานบ้านของมหาปุโรหิต เขาก็เข้าไปนั่งผิงไฟกับพวกยามพระวิหาร
55พวกหัวหน้าปุโรหิตและทั้งสภาแซนเฮดรินพยายามค้นหาหลักฐานมามัดตัวพระเยซูเพื่อจะได้ประหารพระองค์ แต่พวกเขาไม่พบเลย 56มีหลายคนเป็นพยานเท็จปรักปรำพระองค์ แต่คำให้การของพวกเขาไม่สอดคล้องกัน
57แล้วมีบางคนยืนขึ้นเป็นพยานเท็จกล่าวหาพระองค์ว่า 58“พวกเราได้ยินเขากล่าวว่า ‘เราจะทำลายวิหารนี้ซึ่งสร้างขึ้นด้วยน้ำมือมนุษย์ แล้วในสามวันจะสร้างอีกวิหารหนึ่งขึ้นซึ่งไม่ได้สร้างด้วยมือมนุษย์’ ” 59ถึงกระนั้นคำพยานของพวกเขาก็ขัดกันเอง
60มหาปุโรหิตจึงยืนขึ้นต่อหน้าที่ประชุมและถามพระเยซูว่า “ท่านจะไม่ตอบอะไรหรือ? ท่านจะว่าอย่างไรกับข้อกล่าวหาของพยานเหล่านี้?” 61แต่พระเยซูทรงนิ่งอยู่ ไม่ได้ตรัสตอบ
มหาปุโรหิตจึงถามพระองค์อีกครั้งว่า “ท่านคือพระคริสต์14:61 หรือพระเมสสิยาห์ พระบุตรขององค์ผู้ทรงเป็นที่สรรเสริญหรือ?”
62พระเยซูตรัสว่า “เราเป็น และท่านจะเห็นบุตรมนุษย์นั่งอยู่เบื้องขวาพระหัตถ์ขององค์ผู้ทรงฤทธิ์และเสด็จมาบนหมู่เมฆแห่งฟ้าสวรรค์”
63มหาปุโรหิตจึงฉีกเสื้อของตนและพูดว่า “เราจะต้องหาพยานอีกทำไม? 64ท่านทั้งหลายได้ยินเขาพูดหมิ่นประมาทแล้ว ท่านคิดเห็นอย่างไร?”
พวกเขาทั้งหมดเห็นพ้องกันว่าพระองค์ควรรับโทษถึงตาย 65แล้วบางคนก็ถ่มน้ำลายรดพระองค์ พวกเขาเอาผ้าปิดพระเนตร ต่อยพระองค์ แล้วพูดว่า “ทายมาสิ!” พวกยามก็นำพระองค์ไปและทุบตีพระองค์
เปโตรปฏิเสธพระเยซู
(มธ.26:69-75; ลก.22:56-62; ยน.18:16-18,25-27)
66ขณะเปโตรอยู่ข้างล่างที่ลานบ้าน มีสาวใช้คนหนึ่งของมหาปุโรหิตผ่านมา 67เมื่อนางเห็นเปโตรผิงไฟอยู่ก็จ้องมองและพูดว่า
“เจ้าก็อยู่กับเยซูชาวนาซาเร็ธด้วย”
68แต่เปโตรปฏิเสธว่า “เจ้าพูดอะไรข้าไม่รู้เรื่อง” แล้วออกไปที่ทางเข้า14:68 สำเนาต้นฉบับเก่าแก่บางสำเนาเพิ่มข้อความว่าแล้วไก่ก็ขัน
69สาวใช้คนนั้นเห็นเขาที่นั่นก็พูดกับคนที่ยืนอยู่แถวนั้นอีกว่า “คนนี้ก็เป็นคนหนึ่งในพวกนั้น” 70เปโตรปฏิเสธอีก
ครู่หนึ่งต่อมาคนที่ยืนใกล้ๆ พูดกับเปโตรว่า “ใช่แน่ๆ เจ้าเป็นคนหนึ่งในพวกนั้นเพราะเจ้าเป็นชาวกาลิลี”
71เปโตรจึงเริ่มสบถสาบานเป็นการใหญ่ว่า “ข้าไม่รู้จักคนที่พวกเจ้าพูดถึง”
72ทันใดนั้นไก่ก็ขันเป็นครั้งที่สอง14:72 สำเนาต้นฉบับเก่าแก่บางสำเนาไม่มีข้อความว่าครั้งที่สอง เปโตรจึงนึกขึ้นได้ที่พระเยซูตรัสกับเขาไว้ว่า “ก่อนไก่ขันสองหน14:72 สำเนาต้นฉบับเก่าแก่บางสำเนาไม่มีข้อความว่าสองหนท่านจะปฏิเสธเราสามครั้ง” เปโตรก็ร้องไห้ออกมาด้วยความเสียใจ
Jesus anointed at Bethany
1Now the Passover and the Festival of Unleavened Bread were only two days away, and the chief priests and the teachers of the law were scheming to arrest Jesus secretly and kill him. 2‘But not during the festival,’ they said, ‘or the people may riot.’
3While he was in Bethany, reclining at the table in the home of Simon the Leper, a woman came with an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume, made of pure nard. She broke the jar and poured the perfume on his head.
4Some of those present were saying indignantly to one another, ‘Why this waste of perfume? 5It could have been sold for more than a year’s wages14:5 Greek than three hundred denarii and the money given to the poor.’ And they rebuked her harshly.
6‘Leave her alone,’ said Jesus. ‘Why are you bothering her? She has done a beautiful thing to me. 7The poor you will always have with you,14:7 See Deut. 15:11. and you can help them any time you want. But you will not always have me. 8She did what she could. She poured perfume on my body beforehand to prepare for my burial. 9Truly I tell you, wherever the gospel is preached throughout the world, what she has done will also be told, in memory of her.’
10Then Judas Iscariot, one of the Twelve, went to the chief priests to betray Jesus to them. 11They were delighted to hear this and promised to give him money. So he watched for an opportunity to hand him over.
The Last Supper
12On the first day of the Festival of Unleavened Bread, when it was customary to sacrifice the Passover lamb, Jesus’ disciples asked him, ‘Where do you want us to go and make preparations for you to eat the Passover?’
13So he sent two of his disciples, telling them, ‘Go into the city, and a man carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow him. 14Say to the owner of the house he enters, “The Teacher asks: where is my guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?” 15He will show you a large room upstairs, furnished and ready. Make preparations for us there.’
16The disciples left, went into the city and found things just as Jesus had told them. So they prepared the Passover.
17When evening came, Jesus arrived with the Twelve. 18While they were reclining at the table eating, he said, ‘Truly I tell you, one of you will betray me – one who is eating with me.’
19They were saddened, and one by one they said to him, ‘Surely you don’t mean me?’
20‘It is one of the Twelve,’ he replied, ‘one who dips bread into the bowl with me. 21The Son of Man will go just as it is written about him. But woe to that man who betrays the Son of Man! It would be better for him if he had not been born.’
22While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, ‘Take it; this is my body.’
23Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, and they all drank from it.
24‘This is my blood of the14:24 Some manuscripts the new covenant, which is poured out for many,’ he said to them. 25‘Truly I tell you, I will not drink again from the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God.’
26When they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.
Jesus predicts Peter’s denial
27‘You will all fall away,’ Jesus told them, ‘for it is written:
‘ “I will strike the shepherd,
and the sheep will be scattered.”14:27 Zech. 13:7
28But after I have risen, I will go ahead of you into Galilee.’
29Peter declared, ‘Even if all fall away, I will not.’
30‘Truly I tell you,’ Jesus answered, ‘today – yes, tonight – before the cock crows twice14:30 Some early manuscripts do not have twice. you yourself will disown me three times.’
31But Peter insisted emphatically, ‘Even if I have to die with you, I will never disown you.’ And all the others said the same.
Gethsemane
32They went to a place called Gethsemane, and Jesus said to his disciples, ‘Sit here while I pray.’ 33He took Peter, James and John along with him, and he began to be deeply distressed and troubled. 34‘My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death,’ he said to them. ‘Stay here and keep watch.’
35Going a little farther, he fell to the ground and prayed that if possible the hour might pass from him. 36‘Abba,14:36 Aramaic for father Father,’ he said, ‘everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.’
37Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. ‘Simon,’ he said to Peter, ‘are you asleep? Couldn’t you keep watch for one hour? 38Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.’
39Once more he went away and prayed the same thing. 40When he came back, he again found them sleeping, because their eyes were heavy. They did not know what to say to him.
41Returning the third time, he said to them, ‘Are you still sleeping and resting? Enough! The hour has come. Look, the Son of Man is delivered into the hands of sinners. 42Rise! Let us go! Here comes my betrayer!’
Jesus arrested
43Just as he was speaking, Judas, one of the Twelve, appeared. With him was a crowd armed with swords and clubs, sent from the chief priests, the teachers of the law, and the elders.
44Now the betrayer had arranged a signal with them: ‘The one I kiss is the man; arrest him and lead him away under guard.’ 45Going at once to Jesus, Judas said, ‘Rabbi!’ and kissed him. 46The men seized Jesus and arrested him. 47Then one of those standing near drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his ear.
48‘Am I leading a rebellion,’ said Jesus, ‘that you have come out with swords and clubs to capture me? 49Every day I was with you, teaching in the temple courts, and you did not arrest me. But the Scriptures must be fulfilled.’ 50Then everyone deserted him and fled.
51A young man, wearing nothing but a linen garment, was following Jesus. When they seized him, 52he fled naked, leaving his garment behind.
Jesus before the Sanhedrin
53They took Jesus to the high priest, and all the chief priests, the elders and the teachers of the law came together. 54Peter followed him at a distance, right into the courtyard of the high priest. There he sat with the guards and warmed himself at the fire.
55The chief priests and the whole Sanhedrin were looking for evidence against Jesus so that they could put him to death, but they did not find any. 56Many testified falsely against him, but their statements did not agree.
57Then some stood up and gave this false testimony against him: 58‘We heard him say, “I will destroy this temple made with human hands and in three days will build another, not made with hands.” ’ 59Yet even then their testimony did not agree.
60Then the high priest stood up before them and asked Jesus, ‘Are you not going to answer? What is this testimony that these men are bringing against you?’ 61But Jesus remained silent and gave no answer.
Again the high priest asked him, ‘Are you the Messiah, the Son of the Blessed One?’
62‘I am,’ said Jesus. ‘And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven.’
63The high priest tore his clothes. ‘Why do we need any more witnesses?’ he asked. 64‘You have heard the blasphemy. What do you think?’
They all condemned him as worthy of death. 65Then some began to spit at him; they blindfolded him, struck him with their fists, and said, ‘Prophesy!’ And the guards took him and beat him.
Peter disowns Jesus
66While Peter was below in the courtyard, one of the servant-girls of the high priest came by. 67When she saw Peter warming himself, she looked closely at him.
‘You also were with that Nazarene, Jesus,’ she said.
68But he denied it. ‘I don’t know or understand what you’re talking about,’ he said, and went out into the entrance.14:68 Some early manuscripts entrance and the cock crowed
69When the servant-girl saw him there, she said again to those standing round them, ‘This fellow is one of them.’ 70Again he denied it.
After a little while, those standing near said to Peter, ‘Surely you are one of them, for you are a Galilean.’
