เอื้อเฟื้อแก่คนขัดสน
1“จงระวัง อย่าทำดีเพื่อเอาหน้า ถ้าทำเช่นนั้นท่านจะไม่ได้รับบำเหน็จจากพระบิดาของท่านในสวรรค์
2“ดังนั้นเมื่อท่านให้ทานแก่คนขัดสน อย่าตีฆ้องร้องป่าวเหมือนที่คนหน้าซื่อใจคดทำในธรรมศาลาและตามถนนหนทางเพื่อให้ผู้คนยกย่องชมเชย เราบอกความจริงแก่ท่านว่าเขาได้รับบำเหน็จของตนเต็มที่แล้ว 3แต่เมื่อท่านหยิบยื่นแก่คนขัดสน อย่าให้มือซ้ายรู้สิ่งที่มือขวาทำ 4เพื่อการให้ของท่านเป็นความลับ แล้วพระบิดาของท่านผู้ทรงเห็นสิ่งที่ทำเป็นการลับจะประทานบำเหน็จแก่ท่าน
การอธิษฐาน
(ลก.11:2-4)
5“และเมื่อท่านอธิษฐาน อย่าเป็นเหมือนคนหน้าซื่อใจคดเพราะพวกเขาชอบยืนอธิษฐานในธรรมศาลาและตามมุมถนนเพื่อให้คนเห็น เราบอกความจริงแก่ท่านว่าพวกเขาได้รับบำเหน็จของตนเต็มที่แล้ว 6เมื่อท่านอธิษฐาน จงเข้าไปในห้อง ปิดประตู และอธิษฐานต่อพระบิดาของท่านผู้ไม่ปรากฏแก่ตา แล้วพระบิดาของท่านผู้ทรงเห็นสิ่งที่ทำอย่างลับๆ จะประทานบำเหน็จแก่ท่าน 7และเมื่อท่านอธิษฐาน ไม่ต้องพูดพร่ำซ้ำซากเหมือนคนต่างศาสนา เพราะเขาคิดว่าพูดมากๆ พระจึงจะได้ยิน 8อย่าทำอย่างเขาเลยเพราะพระบิดาของท่านทรงทราบว่าท่านต้องการอะไรก่อนที่ท่านจะทูลขอต่อพระองค์
9“ฉะนั้น ท่านควรจะอธิษฐานดังนี้ว่า
“ ‘ข้าแต่พระบิดาของข้าพระองค์ทั้งหลายผู้สถิตในสวรรค์
ขอให้พระนามของพระองค์เป็นที่เทิดทูนสักการะ
10ขอให้อาณาจักรของพระองค์ได้รับการสถาปนาไว้
ขอให้พระประสงค์ของพระองค์สำเร็จในโลกเช่นเดียวกับในสวรรค์
11ขอโปรดประทานอาหารประจำวันแก่ข้าพระองค์ทั้งหลายในวันนี้
12ขอทรงยกหนี้ให้ข้าพระองค์ทั้งหลาย
เหมือนที่ข้าพระองค์ทั้งหลายได้ยกหนี้ให้ผู้ที่เป็นหนี้ข้าพระองค์ทั้งหลายเช่นกัน
13และขออย่าให้ข้าพระองค์ทั้งหลายล้มลงเมื่อถูกทดลอง
แต่ขอทรงช่วยข้าพระองค์ทั้งหลายให้พ้นจากมารร้าย6:13 หรือสิ่งชั่วร้ายสำเนาต้นฉบับบางสำเนามีข้อความว่าเหตุว่าราชอาณาจักร เดชานุภาพ และพระเกียรติสิริเป็นของพระองค์ตลอดนิรันดร์ อาเมน’
14เพราะถ้าท่านอภัยให้ผู้ที่ทำผิดต่อท่าน พระบิดาของท่านในสวรรค์จะทรงอภัยให้ท่านด้วย 15แต่ถ้าท่านไม่ยอมอภัยบาปผิดของผู้อื่นพระบิดาก็จะไม่อภัยบาปผิดของท่านเช่นกัน
การถืออดอาหาร
16“เมื่อท่านถืออดอาหาร อย่าทำหน้าเศร้าเหมือนคนหน้าซื่อใจคด เพราะเขาปั้นหน้าเพื่อให้คนเห็นว่าพวกเขากำลังถืออดอาหาร เราบอกความจริงแก่ท่านว่าเขาได้รับบำเหน็จของตนเต็มที่แล้ว 17ส่วนท่านเมื่อถืออดอาหาร จงล้างหน้า เอาน้ำมันชโลมศีรษะ 18เพื่อจะไม่เป็นที่สะดุดตาใครว่าท่านกำลังถืออดอาหารนอกจากพระบิดาของท่านผู้ไม่ปรากฏแก่ตา และพระบิดาของท่านผู้ทรงเห็นสิ่งที่ทำเป็นการลับจะประทานบำเหน็จแก่ท่าน
ทรัพย์สมบัติในสวรรค์
(ลก.11:34-36)
19“อย่าสะสมทรัพย์สมบัติไว้สำหรับตนในโลกที่ซึ่งแมลงและสนิมอาจทำลายได้และที่ซึ่งโจรอาจงัดแงะเข้าไปขโมยได้ 20แต่จงสะสมทรัพย์สมบัติไว้สำหรับตนในสวรรค์ที่ซึ่งแมลงและสนิมไม่อาจทำลายได้และที่ซึ่งโจรไม่อาจงัดแงะเข้าไปขโมยได้ 21เพราะทรัพย์สมบัติของท่านอยู่ที่ไหน ใจของท่านก็อยู่ที่นั่นด้วย
22“ดวงตาคือประทีปของกาย หากตาของท่านดี ทั้งกายของท่านก็จะเต็มไปด้วยความสว่าง 23แต่ถ้าตาของท่านเสีย ทั้งกายของท่านก็จะเต็มไปด้วยความมืด หากความสว่างในท่านเป็นความมืดมน ความมืดนั้นจะหนาทึบสักเพียงใด!
24“ไม่มีใครเป็นข้าสองเจ้าบ่าวสองนายได้ เขาย่อมเกลียดนายคนหนึ่งและรักนายอีกคนหนึ่ง หรือภักดีต่อนายคนหนึ่งและดูหมิ่นนายอีกคนหนึ่ง ท่านจะรับใช้ทั้งพระเจ้าและเงินทองไม่ได้
อย่าวิตกกังวล
(ลก.12:22-31)
25“เพราะฉะนั้นเราบอกท่านว่าอย่าวิตกกังวลเกี่ยวกับชีวิตของท่านว่าจะเอาอะไรกินหรือเอาอะไรดื่ม หรือพะวงเกี่ยวกับร่างกายของท่านว่าจะเอาอะไรนุ่งห่ม ชีวิตสำคัญยิ่งกว่าอาหารและร่างกายสำคัญยิ่งกว่าเครื่องนุ่งห่มไม่ใช่หรือ? 26จงดูนกในอากาศ มันไม่ได้หว่านหรือเก็บเกี่ยวหรือสะสมไว้ในยุ้งฉาง แต่พระบิดาของท่านในสวรรค์ทรงเลี้ยงดูหมู่นก ท่านไม่ล้ำค่ายิ่งกว่านกเหล่านั้นหรือ? 27ใครบ้างในพวกท่านที่กังวลแล้วต่ออายุตัวเองให้ยืนยาวออกไปอีกสักชั่วโมงหนึ่งได้?6:27 หรือเพิ่มความสูงอีกสักศอกหนึ่งได้?
28“แล้วทำไมท่านจึงกังวลเรื่องเครื่องนุ่งห่ม? จงดูว่าดอกไม้ในท้องทุ่งงอกงามขึ้นอย่างไร มันไม่ได้ลงแรงหรือปั่นด้าย 29กระนั้นเราบอกท่านว่าแม้แต่กษัตริย์โซโลมอนเมื่อทรงบริบูรณ์ด้วยความโอ่อ่าตระการ ก็ยังไม่ได้ทรงเครื่องงามสง่าเท่าดอกไม้เหล่านี้สักดอกหนึ่ง 30ในเมื่อพระเจ้าทรงตกแต่งต้นหญ้าในท้องทุ่งถึงเพียงนั้น ต้นหญ้าซึ่งอยู่ที่นี่วันนี้และพรุ่งนี้ก็จะถูกโยนลงในไฟ โอ ท่านผู้มีความเชื่อน้อย พระองค์จะไม่ทรงตกแต่งท่านมากยิ่งกว่านั้นหรือ? 31ฉะนั้นอย่ากังวลว่า ‘เราจะเอาอะไรกิน?’ หรือ ‘เราจะเอาอะไรดื่ม?’ หรือ ‘เราจะเอาอะไรนุ่งห่ม?’ 32เพราะคนที่ไม่มีพระเจ้าขวนขวายหาสิ่งเหล่านี้ และพระบิดาของท่านในสวรรค์ทรงทราบว่าท่านจำเป็นต้องมีสิ่งเหล่านี้ 33แต่จงแสวงหาอาณาจักรของพระเจ้าและความชอบธรรมของพระองค์ก่อน และพระองค์จะประทานสิ่งทั้งปวงเหล่านี้แก่ท่านด้วย 34เพราะฉะนั้นอย่าวิตกกังวลเกี่ยวกับพรุ่งนี้เพราะพรุ่งนี้ก็จะมีเรื่องวิตกกังวลเกี่ยวกับพรุ่งนี้เอง แต่ละวันก็มีความเดือดร้อนของมันพออยู่แล้ว
1Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven. 2Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 3But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: 4That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.
5¶ And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 6But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. 7But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. 8Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him. 9After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. 10Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. 11Give us this day our daily bread. 12And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. 13And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. 14For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: 15But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
16¶ Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 17But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face; 18That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.
19¶ Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: 20But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: 21For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. 22The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. 23But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!
24¶ No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. 25Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? 26Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? 27Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? 28And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: 29And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? 31Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 32(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. 33But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. 34Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
