Canto de victoria
1En aquel día se entonará esta canción en la tierra de Judá:
«Tenemos una ciudad fuerte.
Para salvarla,
Dios levantó muros y baluartes.
2Abran las puertas para que entre la nación justa
que se mantiene fiel.
3Al de carácter firme
lo guardarás en perfecta paz,
porque en ti confía.
4Confíen en el Señor para siempre,
porque el Señor, el Señor mismo, es la Roca eterna.
5Él hace caer a los que habitan en lo alto
y humilla a la ciudad enaltecida:
la abate hasta dejarla por el suelo,
la derriba hasta dejarla hecha polvo.
6¡Los pobres y los desvalidos
la pisotean con sus propios pies!».
7La senda del justo es recta;
tú, que eres íntegro, allanas su camino.
8Sí, en ti esperamos, Señor,
y en la senda de tus juicios;
tu nombre y tu memoria
son el deseo de nuestra vida.
9Todo mi ser te desea por las noches;
por la mañana mi espíritu te busca.
Pues, cuando tus juicios llegan a la tierra,
los habitantes del mundo aprenden lo que es justicia.
10Aunque al malvado se le tenga compasión,
no aprende lo que es justicia;
en tierra de rectitud actúa con iniquidad
y no reconoce la majestad del Señor.
11Levantada está, Señor, tu mano,
pero ellos no la ven.
¡Que vean tu celo por el pueblo y sean avergonzados;
que sean consumidos por el fuego destinado a tus enemigos!
12Señor, tú estableces la paz en favor nuestro,
porque tú eres quien realiza todas nuestras obras.
13Señor y Dios nuestro,
otros señores nos han gobernado,
pero solo a tu nombre damos honra.
14Ya están muertos y no revivirán;
ya son sombras y no se levantarán.
Tú los has castigado y destruido;
has hecho que perezca su memoria.
15Tú, Señor, has engrandecido a la nación;
la has engrandecido y te has glorificado;
has extendido las fronteras de todo el país.

17Señor, nosotros estuvimos ante ti
como cuando una mujer embarazada
se retuerce y grita de dolor
al momento de dar a luz.
18Concebimos, nos retorcimos,
pero dimos a luz tan solo viento.
No trajimos salvación a la tierra
ni nacieron los habitantes del mundo.
19Pero tus muertos vivirán;
sus cadáveres volverán a la vida.
¡Despierten y griten de alegría,
moradores del polvo!
Porque tu rocío es como el rocío de la mañana
y la tierra devolverá sus muertos.
20¡Anda, pueblo mío, entra en tus habitaciones
y cierra tus puertas tras de ti;
escóndete por un momento,
hasta que pase la ira!
21¡Estén alerta!
El Señor va a salir de su morada
para castigar la maldad de los habitantes de la tierra.
La tierra pondrá al descubierto la sangre derramada;
ya no ocultará a sus muertos.

5¶ For he bringeth down them that dwell on high; the lofty city, he layeth it low; he layeth it low, even to the ground; he bringeth it even to the dust. 6The foot shall tread it down, even the feet of the poor, and the steps of the needy. 7The way of the just is uprightness: thou, most upright, dost weigh the path of the just. 8Yea, in the way of thy judgments, O LORD, have we waited for thee; the desire of our soul is to thy name, and to the remembrance of thee. 9With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early: for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness. 10Let favour be shewed to the wicked, yet will he not learn righteousness: in the land of uprightness will he deal unjustly, and will not behold the majesty of the LORD. 11LORD, when thy hand is lifted up, they will not see: but they shall see, and be ashamed for their envy at the people; yea, the fire of thine enemies shall devour them.26.11 at…: or, toward thy people

Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead.
20¶ Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast. 21For, behold, the LORD cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.26.21 blood: Heb. bloods
