1Escuta-nos, Pastor de Israel,
tu, que conduzes José como um rebanho;
tu, que tens o teu trono sobre os querubins,
manifesta o teu esplendor
2diante de Efraim, Benjamim e Manassés.
Desperta o teu poder e vem salvar-nos!
3Restaura-nos, ó Deus!
Faze resplandecer sobre nós o teu rosto,80.3 Isto é, mostra-nos a tua bondade; também nos versículos 7 e 19.
para que sejamos salvos.
4Ó Senhor, Deus dos Exércitos,
até quando arderá a tua ira
contra as orações do teu povo?
5Tu o alimentaste com pão de lágrimas
e o fizeste beber copos de lágrimas.
6Fizeste de nós um motivo de disputas entre as nações vizinhas,
e os nossos inimigos caçoam de nós.
7Restaura-nos, ó Deus dos Exércitos;
faze resplandecer sobre nós o teu rosto,
para que sejamos salvos.
8Do Egito trouxeste uma videira;
expulsaste as nações e a plantaste.
9Limpaste o terreno,
ela lançou raízes e encheu a terra.
10Os montes foram cobertos pela sua sombra
e os mais altos cedros pelos seus ramos.
11Seus ramos se estenderam até o Mar80.11 Isto é, o Mediterrâneo.
e os seus brotos até o Rio80.11 Isto é, o Eufrates..
12Por que derrubaste as suas cercas,
permitindo que todos os que passam apanhem as suas uvas?
13Javalis da floresta a devastam
e as criaturas do campo dela se alimentam.
14Volta-te para nós, ó Deus dos Exércitos!
Dos altos céus olha e vê!
Toma conta desta videira,
15da raiz que a tua mão direita plantou,
do filho80.15 Ou ramo que para ti fizeste crescer!
16Tua videira foi derrubada;
como lixo foi consumida pelo fogo.
Pela tua repreensão perece o teu povo!80.16 Ou Pela tua repreensão faze perecer os que a derrubaram e a queimaram como lixo!
17Repouse a tua mão sobre aquele que puseste à tua mão direita,
o filho do homem que para ti fizeste crescer.
18Então não nos desviaremos de ti;
vivifica-nos, e invocaremos o teu nome.
19Restaura-nos, ó Senhor, Deus dos Exércitos;
faze resplandecer sobre nós o teu rosto,
para que sejamos salvos.

1Hear us, Shepherd of Israel,
you who lead Joseph like a flock.
You who sit enthroned between the cherubim,
shine forth 2before Ephraim, Benjamin and Manasseh.
Awaken your might;
come and save us.
3Restore us, O God;
make your face shine on us,
that we may be saved.
4How long, Lord God Almighty,
will your anger smoulder
against the prayers of your people?
5You have fed them with the bread of tears;
you have made them drink tears by the bowlful.
6You have made us an object of derision80:6 Probable reading of the original Hebrew text; Masoretic Text contention to our neighbours,
and our enemies mock us.
7Restore us, God Almighty;
make your face shine on us,
that we may be saved.
8You transplanted a vine from Egypt;
you drove out the nations and planted it.
9You cleared the ground for it,
and it took root and filled the land.
10The mountains were covered with its shade,
the mighty cedars with its branches.
11Its branches reached as far as the Sea,80:11 Probably the Mediterranean
its shoots as far as the River.80:11 That is, the Euphrates
12Why have you broken down its walls
so that all who pass by pick its grapes?
13Boars from the forest ravage it,
and insects from the fields feed on it.
14Return to us, God Almighty!
Look down from heaven and see!
Watch over this vine,
15the root your right hand has planted,
the son80:15 Or branch you have raised up for yourself.
16Your vine is cut down, it is burned with fire;
at your rebuke your people perish.
17Let your hand rest on the man at your right hand,
the son of man you have raised up for yourself.
18Then we will not turn away from you;
revive us, and we will call on your name.
19Restore us, Lord God Almighty;
make your face shine on us,
that we may be saved.
