Salmo 41
Para o mestre de música. Salmo davídico.
1Como é feliz aquele que se interessa pelo pobre!
O Senhor o livra em tempos de adversidade.
2O Senhor o protegerá e preservará a sua vida;
ele o fará feliz na terra
e não o entregará ao desejo dos seus inimigos.
3O Senhor o susterá em seu leito de enfermidade,
e da doença o restaurará.
4Eu disse: “Misericórdia, Senhor!
Cura-me, pois pequei contra ti”.
5Os meus inimigos dizem maldosamente a meu respeito:
“Quando ele vai morrer?
Quando vai desaparecer o seu nome?”
6Sempre que alguém vem visitar-me, fala com falsidade,
enche o coração de calúnias e depois as espalha por onde vai.
7Todos os que me odeiam juntam-se e cochicham contra mim,
imaginando que o pior me acontecerá:
8“Uma praga terrível o derrubou;
está de cama e jamais se levantará”.
9Até o meu melhor amigo,
em quem eu confiava
e que partilhava do meu pão,
voltou-se41.9 Hebraico: levantou o calcanhar. contra mim.
10Mas, tu, Senhor, tem misericórdia de mim;
levanta-me, para que eu lhes retribua.
11Sei que me queres bem,
pois o meu inimigo não triunfa sobre mim.
12Por causa da minha integridade me susténs
e me pões na tua presença para sempre.
13Louvado seja o Senhor, o Deus de Israel,
de eternidade a eternidade!

Psalm 41In Hebrew texts 41:1-13 is numbered 41:2-14.
For the director of music. A psalm of David.
1Blessed are those who have regard for the weak;
the Lord delivers them in times of trouble.
2The Lord protects and preserves them—
they are counted among the blessed in the land—
he does not give them over to the desire of their foes.
3The Lord sustains them on their sickbed
and restores them from their bed of illness.
4I said, “Have mercy on me, Lord;
heal me, for I have sinned against you.”
5My enemies say of me in malice,
“When will he die and his name perish?”
6When one of them comes to see me,
he speaks falsely, while his heart gathers slander;
then he goes out and spreads it around.
7All my enemies whisper together against me;
they imagine the worst for me, saying,
8“A vile disease has afflicted him;
he will never get up from the place where he lies.”
9Even my close friend,
someone I trusted,
one who shared my bread,
has turned41:9 Hebrew has lifted up his heel against me.
10But may you have mercy on me, Lord;
raise me up, that I may repay them.
11I know that you are pleased with me,
for my enemy does not triumph over me.
12Because of my integrity you uphold me
and set me in your presence forever.
13Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel,
from everlasting to everlasting.
