Para o mestre de música. De Davi, servo do Senhor.
1Há no meu íntimo um oráculo
a respeito da maldade do ímpio:
Aos seus olhos é inútil temer a Deus.
2Ele se acha tão importante,
que não percebe nem rejeita o seu pecado.
3As palavras da sua boca são maldosas e traiçoeiras;
abandonou o bom senso e não quer fazer o bem.
4Até na sua cama planeja maldade;
nada há de bom no caminho a que se entregou,
e ele nunca rejeita o mal.
5O teu amor, Senhor, chega até os céus;
a tua fidelidade até as nuvens.
6A tua justiça é firme como as altas montanhas;
as tuas decisões, insondáveis como o grande mar.
Tu, Senhor, preservas tanto os homens quanto os animais.
7Como é precioso o teu amor, ó Deus!
Os homens encontram refúgio à sombra das tuas asas.
8Eles se banqueteiam na fartura da tua casa;
tu lhes dás de beber do teu rio de delícias.
9Pois em ti está a fonte da vida;
graças à tua luz, vemos a luz.
10Estende o teu amor aos que te conhecem;
a tua justiça, aos que são retos de coração.
11Não permitas que o arrogante me pisoteie
nem que a mão do ímpio me faça recuar.
12Lá estão os malfeitores caídos,
lançados ao chão, incapazes de levantar-se!

1I have a message from God in my heart
concerning the sinfulness of the wicked:36:1 Or A message from God: The transgression of the wicked / resides in their hearts.
There is no fear of God
before their eyes.
2In their own eyes they flatter themselves
too much to detect or hate their sin.
3The words of their mouths are wicked and deceitful;
they fail to act wisely or do good.
4Even on their beds they plot evil;
they commit themselves to a sinful course
and do not reject what is wrong.
5Your love, Lord, reaches to the heavens,
your faithfulness to the skies.
6Your righteousness is like the highest mountains,
your justice like the great deep.
You, Lord, preserve both people and animals.
7How priceless is your unfailing love, O God!
People take refuge in the shadow of your wings.
8They feast on the abundance of your house;
you give them drink from your river of delights.
9For with you is the fountain of life;
in your light we see light.
10Continue your love to those who know you,
your righteousness to the upright in heart.
11May the foot of the proud not come against me,
nor the hand of the wicked drive me away.
12See how the evildoers lie fallen—
thrown down, not able to rise!
