Para o mestre de música. Davídico.
1Diz o tolo em seu coração: “Deus não existe”.
Corromperam-se e cometeram atos detestáveis;
não há ninguém que faça o bem.
2O Senhor olha dos céus
para os filhos dos homens,
para ver se há alguém que tenha entendimento,
alguém que busque a Deus.
3Todos se desviaram,
igualmente se corromperam;
não há ninguém que faça o bem,
não há nem um sequer.
4Será que nenhum dos malfeitores aprende?
Eles devoram o meu povo como quem come pão
e não clamam pelo Senhor!
5Olhem! Estão tomados de pavor!
Pois Deus está presente no meio dos justos.
6Vocês, malfeitores, frustram os planos dos pobres,
mas o refúgio deles é o Senhor.
7Ah, se de Sião viesse a salvação para Israel!
Quando o Senhor restaurar o seu14.7 Ou trouxer de volta os cativos do seu povo,
Jacó exultará! Israel se regozijará!
Psalm 14
For the director of music. A psalm of David.
1Foolish people say in their hearts,
“There is no God.”
They do all kinds of horrible and evil things.
No one does anything good.
2The Lord looks down from heaven
on all people.
He wants to see if there are any who understand.
He wants to see if there are any who trust in God.
3All of them have turned away.
They have all become evil.
No one does anything good,
no one at all.
4Do all these people who do evil know nothing?
They eat up my people as if they were eating bread.
They never call out to the Lord.
5But just look at them! They are filled with terror
because God is among those who do right.
6You who do evil keep poor people from succeeding.
But the Lord is their place of safety.
7How I pray that the God who saves Israel will come out of Zion!
Then the Lord will bless his people with great success again.
So let the people of Jacob be filled with joy! Let Israel be glad!
