Psalm 145
Lova Herren, allt skapat
1En lovsång av David.
Jag vill upphöja dig, min Gud och kung,
och för evigt prisa ditt namn.
2Jag vill prisa dig varje dag,
för evigt lovsjunga ditt namn.
3Stor är Herren och högt prisad!
Hans storhet är outgrundlig.
4I alla tider ska människor hylla dina verk
och berätta om dina mäktiga gärningar.
5Din härliga prakt, dina underbara verk och ditt majestät
vill jag begrunda.
6De talar om dina fruktansvärda gärningars makt,
och jag vill förkunna din storhet.
7De ska hylla minnet av din stora godhet
och jubla över din rättfärdighet.
8Herren är nådig och barmhärtig,
sen till vrede, rik på nåd.
9Herren är god mot alla,
han är barmhärtig mot alla som han har skapat.
10Alla dina verk prisar dig, Herre,
och dina fromma lovprisar dig.
11De talar om ditt rikes härlighet
och förkunnar din makt,
12för att alla människor ska lära känna din makt,
ditt rikes ära och härlighet.
13Ditt rike består för evigt
och ditt välde från generation till generation.
Herren är trofast i allt han säger,
nådig i allt han gör.145:13 Den senare hälften av versen saknas i grundtexten men finns bland Dödahavsrullarna, i Septuaginta m.fl. och har här översatts från dessa. Eftersom psalmen är alfabetisk kan man utgå ifrån att denna senare del bör finnas med, för att inte en bokstav (hebr. nun) skulle fattas.
14Herren uppehåller alla som håller på att falla
och reser upp dem som är nertyngda.
15Allas ögon är riktade mot dig,
och du ger dem mat i rätt tid.
16Du öppnar din hand
och mättar allt levande som hungrar.
17Herren är rättfärdig i allt han gör,
nådig mot allt han skapat.
18Herren är nära alla som ropar,
som ärligt ropar till honom.
19Han gör vad de som fruktar honom begär.
Han hör deras rop och räddar dem.
20Herren skyddar alla dem som älskar honom,
men alla onda förgör han.
21Jag vill lova Herren,
och allt som lever ska prisa hans heliga namn,
nu och för evigt.
Psalm 145This psalm is an acrostic poem, the verses of which (including verse 13b) begin with the successive letters of the Hebrew alphabet.
A psalm of praise. Of David.
1I will exalt you, my God the King;
I will praise your name for ever and ever.
2Every day I will praise you
and extol your name for ever and ever.
3Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise;
his greatness no-one can fathom.
4One generation commends your works to another;
they tell of your mighty acts.
5They speak of the glorious splendour of your majesty –

6They tell of the power of your awesome works –
and I will proclaim your great deeds.
7They celebrate your abundant goodness
and joyfully sing of your righteousness.
8The Lord is gracious and compassionate,
slow to anger and rich in love.
9The Lord is good to all;
he has compassion on all he has made.
10All your works praise you, Lord;
your faithful people extol you.
11They tell of the glory of your kingdom
and speak of your might,
12so that all people may know of your mighty acts
and the glorious splendour of your kingdom.
13Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,
and your dominion endures through all generations.
The Lord is trustworthy in all he promises
and faithful in all he does.145:13 One manuscript of the Masoretic Text, Dead Sea Scrolls and Syriac (see also Septuagint); most manuscripts of the Masoretic Text do not have the last two lines of verse 13.
14The Lord upholds all who fall
and lifts up all who are bowed down.
15The eyes of all look to you,
and you give them their food at the proper time.
16You open your hand
and satisfy the desires of every living thing.
17The Lord is righteous in all his ways
and faithful in all he does.
18The Lord is near to all who call on him,
to all who call on him in truth.
19He fulfils the desires of those who fear him;
he hears their cry and saves them.
20The Lord watches over all who love him,
but all the wicked he will destroy.
21My mouth will speak in praise of the Lord.
Let every creature praise his holy name
for ever and ever.
