Jona ber
1Men nu hade Herren förberett det så, att en stor fisk svalde Jona. Han blev kvar i fiskens buk tre dagar och tre nätter. 2Jona bad därifrån till Herren, sin Gud:
3”I min nöd ropade jag till Herren,
och han svarade mig.
Från dödsrikets djup ropade jag på hjälp,
och du hörde mitt rop.
4Du kastade mig i djupet,
mitt i havet.
Strömmarna omgav mig,
alla dina bränningar och vågor
svepte över mig.
5Då tänkte jag: ’Jag har fördrivits från dig.
Får jag någonsin mer se ditt heliga tempel?’
6Vattnen omslöt mig ända upp till min strupe,
djupet omgav mig,
och sjögräs snodde sig runt mitt huvud.
7Jag sjönk ända till foten av bergen.
Jordens bommar reglades
bakom mig för evigt.
Men du förde mig upp ur graven
och gav mig liv, Herre, min Gud.
8När mitt liv tynade bort
tänkte jag på Herren,
och min bön gick till dig
i ditt heliga tempel.
9De som håller sig till meningslösa avgudar
överger den nåd de fått.
10Men med lovsång vill jag offra till dig
och hålla mina löften.
Räddningen kommer från Herren.”
11Då gav Herren fisken en befallning, och den spydde upp Jona på land.

Salvation is of the LORD.
10¶ And the LORD spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.
