2Vilket stöd du är för den svage,
en räddande arm för den kraftlöse!
3Vilka råd du har gett den okloke,
och vilket stort förnuft du har visat!
4Vem har hjälpt dig att finna alla dessa ord,
och vems ande talar genom dig?
5De dödas andar26:5 Det hebreiska ordets betydelse är vag; syftar på något svagt, klent, matt, skuggliknande, men kan också härledas till jättestammen refaéerna (1 Mos 15:20). Bl.a. Septuaginta och Vulgata har tolkat det som att jättarna bävar. bävar,
liksom de djupa vattnen och alla som bor däri.
6Dödsriket ligger naket inför honom,
avgrunden är blottad.
7Han spänner ut sin boning över tomma intet
och hänger upp jorden på ingenting.
8Han samlar vattnet i molnen,
men skyarna brister inte av tyngden.
9Han döljer sin tron26:9 Det hebreiska ordet kan också syfta på fullmånen.,
sveper in den i sina moln.
10Han drar en gräns runt vattenytan,
och en gräns för ljus och mörker.
11Himlens pelare darrar,
de skräms av hans tillrättavisning.
12Med sin makt rör han upp26:12 ”Rör upp” kan också översättas stillar. havet,
med sin vishet krossar han Rahav.
13Av hans andedräkt blir himlen klar,
och hans hand genomborrar den snabba ormen.
14Detta är bara en liten glimt av allt det han gör,
en stilla viskning om honom.
Vem kan då förstå hans allmakts dån?
