Herrens dom och Herrens nåd
1Vem är det som kommer från Edom,
från Bosra i mörkröda kläder,
som i praktfull dräkt går fram med en sådan kraft?
”Det är jag, som talar i rättfärdighet,
den som har makt att rädda.”
2Varför är dina kläder så röda,
som om du hade trampat en vinpress?
3”Jag har ensam trampat vinpressen.
Ingen från folken hjälpte mig.
Jag trampade dem i min vrede,
stampade ner dem i min förbittring.
Deras blod stänkte på mina kläder
och fläckade ner hela min dräkt.
4Jag hade tänkt ut en hämndens dag,
mitt befrielseår hade kommit.
5Jag såg mig om,
men det fanns ingen som ville hjälpa.
Det förvånade mig att ingen ville ge stöd.
Då blev min egen styrka min räddning
och min vrede mitt stöd.
6Jag trampade folken i min vrede,
lät dem bli druckna av min förbittring
och lät deras blod rinna ner till marken.”
7Jag vill berätta om Herrens nåd,
prisa Herren för allt han har gjort för oss,
all hans godhet mot Israels folk,
som han visat i sin barmhärtighet och nåd.
8Han sa:
”De är mitt folk,
barn som aldrig sviker.”
Så blev han deras räddare.
9Han delade all deras nöd,
och hans ansiktes ängel räddade dem.
I sin kärlek och i sitt medlidande befriade han dem,
lyfte upp dem och bar dem under alla tider som gått.
10Men de gjorde ändå uppror
och bedrövade hans heliga Ande.
Därför blev han deras fiende
och stred mot dem.
11Då kom hans folk ihåg forna tider
och tänkte på Mose:
Var finns han som ledde dem genom havet,
herden för hans hjord?
Var finns han
som sände sin heliga Ande bland dem,
12han, lät sin härliga makt gå vid Moses högra sida,
han som klöv vattnen framför dem
och för evigt gjorde sig ett namn,
13han som ledde dem fram genom djupen?
Som hästen på ett öppet fält
gick de framåt utan att snava.
14Likt boskap som leds ner i dalen,
så förde Herrens Ande dem till vila.
Så ledde du ditt folk
för att göra dig ett härligt namn.
15Se ner från himlen,
från din heliga och härliga boning.
Var finns din lidelse och din makt?
Ditt medlidande och din barmhärtighet har du dragit tillbaka.
16Du är ju vår far.
Även om Abraham inte vet om oss
och Israel inte känns vid oss,
så är du, Herre, ändå vår far,
sedan urminnes tider har du hetat vår befriare.
17Varför låter du oss gå vilse från dina vägar, Herre,
varför har du förhärdat våra hjärtan,
så att vi inte fruktar dig?
Vänd tillbaka för dina tjänares skull,
de stammar som är din arvedel.

våra fiender trampade ner din helgedom.
19Vi har blivit som de som du aldrig härskat över,
som de som inte har uppkallats efter ditt namn.

7¶ I will mention the lovingkindnesses of the LORD, and the praises of the LORD, according to all that the LORD hath bestowed on us, and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which he hath bestowed on them according to his mercies, and according to the multitude of his lovingkindnesses. 8For he said, Surely they are my people, children that will not lie: so he was their Saviour. 9In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bare them, and carried them all the days of old.
10¶ But they rebelled, and vexed his holy Spirit: therefore he was turned to be their enemy, and he fought against them. 11Then he remembered the days of old, Moses, and his people, saying, Where is he that brought them up out of the sea with the shepherd of his flock? where is he that put his holy Spirit within him?63.11 shepherd: or, shepherds 12That led them by the right hand of Moses with his glorious arm, dividing the water before them, to make himself an everlasting name? 13That led them through the deep, as an horse in the wilderness, that they should not stumble? 14As a beast goeth down into the valley, the Spirit of the LORD caused him to rest: so didst thou lead thy people, to make thyself a glorious name.

17¶ O LORD, why hast thou made us to err from thy ways, and hardened our heart from thy fear? Return for thy servants’ sake, the tribes of thine inheritance. 18The people of thy holiness have possessed it but a little while: our adversaries have trodden down thy sanctuary. 19We are thine: thou never barest rule over them; they were not called by thy name.63.19 they…: Heb. thy name was not called upon them
