Cazul fiicelor lui Țelofhad
(Num. 27:1-11)
1Căpeteniile familiilor din clanul urmașilor lui Ghilad, fiul lui Machir, fiul lui Manase, care făceau parte din clanurile urmașilor lui Iosif, au venit și au vorbit înaintea lui Moise și a celorlalți conducători ai familiilor fiilor lui Israel.
2Ei au zis:
– Domnul i‑a poruncit stăpânului meu să dea fiilor lui Israel țara ca moștenire prin sorți. Și stăpânului meu i‑a fost poruncit de către Domnul să dea moștenirea fratelui nostru Țelofhad, fiicelor lui. 3Dar dacă ele se mărită cu bărbați din alte seminții ale fiilor lui Israel, atunci moștenirea lor va fi luată din moștenirea seminției noastre și adăugată seminției din care bărbatul face parte. Astfel, o parte din moștenirea noastră ne va fi luată. 4Și când va veni Anul de veselie pentru fiii lui Israel, moștenirea lor va fi adăugată seminției în care ele s‑au măritat și proprietatea va fi ștearsă astfel din moștenirea seminției părinților noștri.
5Moise le‑a poruncit fiilor lui Israel după cuvântul Domnului și le‑a zis:
– Ce spune seminția urmașilor lui Iosif este adevărat. 6Acesta este cuvântul pe care‑l poruncește Domnul fiicelor lui Țelofhad: „Să se mărite cu cine le place6 Lit.: [cu] cel ce este bun în ochii lor., dar să se mărite într‑un clan al seminției tatălui lor. 7Nicio moștenire a fiilor lui Israel să nu treacă de la o seminție la alta, ci fiecare dintre fiii lui Israel să se țină strâns de moștenirea seminției părinților lui. 8Orice fată care are o moștenire în oricare din semințiile fiilor lui Israel, să se mărite cu cineva dintr‑un clan al seminției tatălui ei, pentru ca fiecare dintre fiii lui Israel să păstreze moștenirea părinților lui. 9Nicio moștenire nu va trece de la o seminție la alta, ci fiecare din semințiile fiilor lui Israel să‑și păstreze propria‑și moștenire.“
10Fiicele lui Țelofhad au făcut după porunca pe care Domnul i‑a dat‑o lui Moise. 11Fiicele lui Țelofhad – Mahla, Tirța, Hogla, Milca și Noa – s‑au măritat cu verișori din partea tatălui lor. 12Ele s‑au măritat în interiorul clanurilor urmașilor lui Manase, fiul lui Iosif, iar moștenirea lor a rămas în seminția clanului tatălui lor.
13Acestea sunt poruncile și judecățile pe care Domnul le‑a dat fiilor lui Israel, prin Moise, în câmpiile Moabului, lângă Iordan, în fața Ierihonului.
1And the chief fathers of the families of the children of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, of the families of the sons of Joseph, came near, and spake before Moses, and before the princes, the chief fathers of the children of Israel: 2And they said, The LORD commanded my lord to give the land for an inheritance by lot to the children of Israel: and my lord was commanded by the LORD to give the inheritance of Zelophehad our brother unto his daughters. 3And if they be married to any of the sons of the other tribes of the children of Israel, then shall their inheritance be taken from the inheritance of our fathers, and shall be put to the inheritance of the tribe whereunto they are received: so shall it be taken from the lot of our inheritance.36.3 whereunto…: Heb. unto whom they shall be 4And when the jubile of the children of Israel shall be, then shall their inheritance be put unto the inheritance of the tribe whereunto they are received: so shall their inheritance be taken away from the inheritance of the tribe of our fathers.36.4 whereunto…: Heb. unto whom they shall be
5And Moses commanded the children of Israel according to the word of the LORD, saying, The tribe of the sons of Joseph hath said well. 6This is the thing which the LORD doth command concerning the daughters of Zelophehad, saying, Let them marry to whom they think best; only to the family of the tribe of their father shall they marry.36.6 marry: Heb. be wives 7So shall not the inheritance of the children of Israel remove from tribe to tribe: for every one of the children of Israel shall keep himself to the inheritance of the tribe of his fathers.36.7 keep…: Heb. cleave to the, etc 8And every daughter, that possesseth an inheritance in any tribe of the children of Israel, shall be wife unto one of the family of the tribe of her father, that the children of Israel may enjoy every man the inheritance of his fathers. 9Neither shall the inheritance remove from one tribe to another tribe; but every one of the tribes of the children of Israel shall keep himself to his own inheritance. 10Even as the LORD commanded Moses, so did the daughters of Zelophehad: 11For Mahlah, Tirzah, and Hoglah, and Milcah, and Noah, the daughters of Zelophehad, were married unto their father’s brothers’ sons: 12And they were married into the families of the sons of Manasseh the son of Joseph, and their inheritance remained in the tribe of the family of their father.36.12 into…: Heb. to some that were of the families 13These are the commandments and the judgments, which the LORD commanded by the hand of Moses unto the children of Israel in the plains of Moab by Jordan near Jericho.
