Invitație la abundență
1Oh! Voi toți cei care sunteți însetați,
veniți la ape!
Voi care n‑aveți argint,
veniți, cumpărați și mâncați!
Veniți, cumpărați vin și lapte
fără argint și fără plată!
2De ce vă cheltuiți argintul pe ceea ce nu este pâine
și truda pe ceea ce nu satură?
Ascultați‑Mă cu atenție și mâncați ce este bun,
desfătați‑vă sufletul cu mâncare gustoasă!
3Luați aminte și veniți la Mine!
Ascultați și sufletul vostru va trăi!
Voi încheia cu voi un legământ veșnic,
potrivit cu promisiunile demne de încredere făcute lui David.
4Iată, L‑am făcut un martor pentru popoare,
un conducător și un stăpânitor pentru popoare.
5Iată, vei aduna neamuri pe care nu le cunoști
și neamuri care nu Te cunosc vor alerga la Tine,
datorită Domnului, Dumnezeul Tău,
a Sfântului lui Israel,
căci El Te‑a împodobit cu slavă.“
6Căutați‑L pe Domnul cât timp mai poate fi găsit!
Chemați‑L cât timp mai este aproape!
7Cel rău să se lase de calea lui
și omul nelegiuit să se lase de gândurile lui!
Să se întoarcă la Domnul,
Care îi va arăta îndurare,
la Dumnezeul nostru,
Care îl va ierta pe deplin.
8„Căci gândurile Mele nu sunt gândurile voastre,
iar căile voastre nu sunt căile Mele,
zice Domnul.
9Pentru că, așa cum sunt de sus cerurile față de pământ,
tot așa sunt de sus căile Mele față de căile voastre
și gândurile Mele față de gândurile voastre.
10Căci, așa cum ploaia și zăpada
coboară din cer
și nu se întorc înapoi
până nu udă pământul,
făcându‑l să rodească și să încolțească,
dând sămânță semănătorului
și pâine celui ce mănâncă,
11tot așa este și cu al Meu Cuvânt,
care iese din gura Mea:
nu se va întoarce la Mine fără rod,
ci Îmi va împlini dorința
și va reuși în lucrul pentru care l‑am trimis.
12Veți ieși cu bucurie
și veți fi călăuziți în pace;
munții și dealurile vor izbucni
în strigăte de bucurie înaintea voastră,
și toți copacii câmpiei
vor bate din palme.
13În locul mărăcinilor va crește chiparosul
și în locul ciulinului13 Identificarea exactă a acestei plante este nesigură. va crește mirtul,
iar aceasta va fi un renume pentru Domnul,
un semn veșnic, nepieritor.“
Invitation to the Thirsty
1“Come, all you who are thirsty,
come to the waters;
and you who have no money,
come, buy and eat!
Come, buy wine and milk
without money and without cost.
2Why spend money on what is not bread,
and your labor on what does not satisfy?
Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good,
and you will delight in the richest of fare.
3Give ear and come to me;
listen, that you may live.
I will make an everlasting covenant with you,
my faithful love promised to David.
4See, I have made him a witness to the peoples,
a ruler and commander of the peoples.
5Surely you will summon nations you know not,
and nations you do not know will come running to you,
because of the Lord your God,
the Holy One of Israel,
for he has endowed you with splendor.”
6Seek the Lord while he may be found;
call on him while he is near.
7Let the wicked forsake their ways
and the unrighteous their thoughts.
Let them turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on them,
and to our God, for he will freely pardon.
8“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the Lord.
9“As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.
10As the rain and the snow
come down from heaven,
and do not return to it
without watering the earth
and making it bud and flourish,
so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,
11so is my word that goes out from my mouth:
It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
12You will go out in joy
and be led forth in peace;
the mountains and hills
will burst into song before you,
and all the trees of the field
will clap their hands.
13Instead of the thornbush will grow the juniper,
and instead of briers the myrtle will grow.
This will be for the Lord’s renown,
for an everlasting sign,
that will endure forever.”
