Псалам 35
Давидов.
1Осуди, Господе, моје тужиоце,
и војуј против мојих нападача.
2Узми оружје и штит,
устани, помози ми!
3Потегни копље дуго и кратко,
против оних који ме прогоне.
Реци мојој души:
„Ја сам ти спасење!“
4Нек се постиде и осрамоте
они који ми о глави раде,
нек се повуку у срамоти
они што ми зло смишљају.
5Нек буду као плева на ветру,
тако нек их Анђео Господњи гони,
6нек је таман и клизав пут њихов,
кад их гони Анђео Господњи.
7Без повода ми разапеше мрежу,
без разлога ми ископаше јаму.
8Нек их снађе пропаст изненада,
нек се ухвате у мрежу коју су сакрили,
нек у њу падну на своју пропаст.
9А моја ће се душа радовати у Господу,
веселиће се у његовом спасењу.
10Све ће моје кости говорити:
„Ко је као ти, о, Господе?
Ти избављаш сиромаха од моћнијег од њега,
сиромаха и убогога од онога што га пљачка.“
11Иступају окрутни сведоци,
питају ме за оно што не знам.
12За добро ми злом плаћају,
душу моју у беду гурају.
13А кад су они били у болести,
у кострет сам се због њих облачио,
душу своју постом сам мучио,
а молитва ми се у крило враћала.
14Као за другом или братом,
шетао сам горе-доле;
као кад се жали за мајком,
тако сам се у жалости свио.
15А кад ја посрнем, они се радују,
скупљају се против мене бедници,
они које не знам раздиру ме непрестано.
16Као безбожни злобно се ругају,
и зубима својим шкргућу на мене.
17Докле ћеш то гледати, Господе?
Спаси ме од њихових напада,
и мој живот од младих лавова.
18Хвалићу те у великом збору,
славићу те међу многим народом.
19Не дај да се веселе нада мном
подмукли моји душмани,
да не намигују очима
они што ме без разлога мрзе.
20Они не говоре о миру,
већ смишљају преваре
против мирних у земљи.
21Уста своја разјапљују на мене,
и говоре: „Ево! Ево! Својим смо то очима видели!“
22Ти видиш то, Господе, не ћути!
Не удаљуј се, Господе, од мене.
23Пробуди се, устани, ради мога права,
мој спор одбрани, Боже мој, Господе.
24Оправдај ме, Господе, мој Боже, по праведности својој,
не дај да се они радују нада мном.
25Не дај да у срцу они кажу: „Ето, то смо хтели!“
Да не кажу: „Прогутали смо га!“
26Нек се постиде и осрамоте
они што се невољи мојој радују;
нек стид и срам покрије оне,
који себе уздижу нада мном.
27Нека кличу и радују се они,
којима је мило моје оправдање;
нека они говоре стално:
„Велик је Господ!
Мио му је напредак слуге његовог.“
28Језик ће ми причати о праведности твојој,
поваздан ћу прослављати тебе.
A Psalm of David.
1Plead my cause, O LORD, with them that strive with me: fight against them that fight against me.
2Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for mine help.
3Draw out also the spear, and stop the way against them that persecute me: say unto my soul, I am thy salvation.
4Let them be confounded and put to shame that seek after my soul: let them be turned back and brought to confusion that devise my hurt.
5Let them be as chaff before the wind: and let the angel of the LORD chase them.
6Let their way be dark and slippery: and let the angel of the LORD persecute them.35.6 dark…: Heb. darkness and slipperiness
7For without cause have they hid for me their net in a pit, which without cause they have digged for my soul.
8Let destruction come upon him at unawares; and let his net that he hath hid catch himself: into that very destruction let him fall.35.8 at…: Heb. which he knoweth not of
9And my soul shall be joyful in the LORD: it shall rejoice in his salvation.
10All my bones shall say, LORD, who is like unto thee, which deliverest the poor from him that is too strong for him, yea, the poor and the needy from him that spoileth him?

12They rewarded me evil for good to the spoiling of my soul.35.12 spoiling: Heb. depriving
13But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth: I humbled my soul with fasting; and my prayer returned into mine own bosom.35.13 humbled: or, afflicted
14I behaved myself as though he had been my friend or brother: I bowed down heavily, as one that mourneth for his mother.35.14 behaved myself: Heb. walked35.14 as though…: Heb. as a friend, as a brother to me
15But in mine adversity they rejoiced, and gathered themselves together: yea, the abjects gathered themselves together against me, and I knew it not; they did tear me, and ceased not:35.15 adversity: Heb. halting
16With hypocritical mockers in feasts, they gnashed upon me with their teeth.
17Lord, how long wilt thou look on? rescue my soul from their destructions, my darling from the lions.35.17 darling: Heb. only one
18I will give thee thanks in the great congregation: I will praise thee among much people.35.18 much: Heb. strong
19Let not them that are mine enemies wrongfully rejoice over me: neither let them wink with the eye that hate me without a cause.35.19 wrongfully: Heb. falsely
20For they speak not peace: but they devise deceitful matters against them that are quiet in the land.
21Yea, they opened their mouth wide against me, and said, Aha, aha, our eye hath seen it.
22This thou hast seen, O LORD: keep not silence: O Lord, be not far from me.
23Stir up thyself, and awake to my judgment, even unto my cause, my God and my Lord.
24Judge me, O LORD my God, according to thy righteousness; and let them not rejoice over me.
25Let them not say in their hearts, Ah, so would we have it: let them not say, We have swallowed him up.35.25 Ah…: Heb. Ah, ah, our soul
26Let them be ashamed and brought to confusion together that rejoice at mine hurt: let them be clothed with shame and dishonour that magnify themselves against me.
27Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.35.27 righteous…: Heb. righteousness
28And my tongue shall speak of thy righteousness and of thy praise all the day long.
