Псалам 18
Давид је испевао Господу речи ове песме онога дана када га је Господ избавио из руку свих његових непријатеља и из Саулове руке. Рекао је:
1Волим те, Господе, моја снаго.
2Господе, стено моја,
тврђаво моја, избавитељу мој.
Мој Бог је мени стена,
где заклон налазим.
Штите мој, роже мог спасења,
заклоне мој, уточиште моје!
3Призваћу Господа славе предостојног,
и он ће ме спасти од мојих душмана.
4Смртна су се ужад сплела око мене,
ужаснут сам разорним рекама.
5Ужад су ме Света мртвих опколила,
смрт ме вреба са својим замкама.
6У невољи завапих Господу,
и повиках ка Богу својему.
Из свог храма глас је мој чуо,
мој вапај стиже до њега,
до његових ушију.
7Тад се земља уздрма, затресе,
задрхташе темељи планина,
стресоше се због његовог гнева.
8Дим се диже њему из ноздрва,
огањ пламти из његових уста,
жар угљени из њега избија.
9Он небеса пресави и сиђе,
под ногама густа му је тама.
10Херувима узјаха, полете,
и заплови на крилима ветра.
11Од таме начини око себе шатор,
сеницу за себе од тамних вода
и од облака тамних.
12Од сјаја пред њим прођоше облаци,
пљушти град и угаљ ужарени.
13Тада Господ загрме с небеса,
разлеже се глас Свевишњега,
град и угаљ ужарени.
14Стреле своје одапе и душмане расу,
бљесну муњама, у пометњу их баци.
15Кад си Господе почео да караш,
кад ти дах из ноздрва плану,
долине се водне показаше,
открише се темељи света.
16Руку пружи са висина, дохвати ме,
из вода ме моћних извуче,
17од моћног ме избави душмана,
и од оних јачих што ме мрзе.
18Навалише на мене у дан моје муке,
али Господ ми је био ослонац.
19Изведе ме на пространо место,
избави ме јер сам му по вољи.
20Господ ми по правди мојој плати,
награди ми чистоћу руку мојих,
21јер путеве Господње сачувах;
Богу своме ја нисам скривио.
22Судови његови сви су ми пред очима,
од одредби његових одвратио се нисам.
23Пред њим сам ја био беспрекоран,
сачувао сам себе од кривице,
24по правди ме је мојој Господ наградио,
руке су ми недужне пред његовим очима.
25Ти вернима исказујеш верност,
беспрекорнима узвраћаш поштењем.
26С чистима ти поступаш чисто,
а с опакима поступаш лукаво.
27Ти избављаш кротак народ,
а обараш поглед узносити.
28Јер ти, Господе, светиљку ми палиш,
мој Бог моју таму расветљује.
29Јер са тобом ја разбијам чету,
с Богом мојим прескачем зидине.
30Пут је Божији беспрекоран,
реч је Господња у ватри прекаљена;
штит је свима што у њему уточиште траже.
31Јер ко је Бог осим Господа?
Ко је стена осим нашег Бога?
32Он је Бог који ме снагом опрема,
он пут мој чини беспрекорним.
33Даде ми ноге хитре ко у кошуте,
постави ме чврсто на висине.
34Руке моје учи војевању,
да лук бронзани натежем мишицама.
35Ти ми дајеш штит спасења свога,
десница ме твоја подупире,
твој одазив чини ме великим.
36Шириш тло под кораком мојим,
да ми ноге не би посрнуле.
37Душмане своје гоним и сустижем,
не враћам се док их не докрајчим.
38Разбијам их и не могу устати,
и падају под моје ноге.
39Ти ме опремаш снагом за битку,
и обараш пода мном моје противнике.
40Ти учини да душмани моји
реп свој подвију преда мном,
да мрзитеље своје искореним.
41Завапише, али им спаса нема ниоткуда;
Господу завапише, али он им не одговара.
42Измрвих их као прах пред ветар,
избацих их као блато са улица.
43Ти си ме избавио од сукоба с народом,
и поставио ме за главу пуцима.
Народ који нисам знао,
тај ми народ служи.
44Туђинци ми ласкају,
чим ме чују, они ме слушају.
45Туђинци губе срчаност,
из својих тврђава излазе дрхћући.
46Живео Господ! Благословена била стена моја!
Узвишен био Бог мога спасења!
47То је Бог што ме освећује,
он мени покорава народе;
48избавља ме од мојих душмана.
Над мојим си ме мрзитељима узвисио,
избавио ме од човека насилног.
49Зато ћу те хвалити, Господе, међу пуцима,
твоје ћу име песмом прослављати.
50Велико спасење даје своме цару;
исказује милост помазанику своме, Давиду,
и његовом потомству довека.
To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David, the servant of the LORD, who spake unto the LORD the words of this song in the day that the LORD delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul: And he said,
1I will love thee, O LORD, my strength.
2The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.18.2 my strength: Heb. my rock
3I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.
4The sorrows of death compassed me, and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid.18.4 ungodly men: Heb. Belial
5The sorrows of hell compassed me about: the snares of death prevented me.18.5 sorrows: or, cords
6In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears.
7Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations also of the hills moved and were shaken, because he was wroth.
8There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it.18.8 out of his nostrils: Heb. by his, etc
9He bowed the heavens also, and came down: and darkness was under his feet.
10And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: yea, he did fly upon the wings of the wind.
11He made darkness his secret place; his pavilion round about him were dark waters and thick clouds of the skies.
12At the brightness that was before him his thick clouds passed, hail stones and coals of fire.
13The LORD also thundered in the heavens, and the Highest gave his voice; hail stones and coals of fire.
14Yea, he sent out his arrows, and scattered them; and he shot out lightnings, and discomfited them.
15Then the channels of waters were seen, and the foundations of the world were discovered at thy rebuke, O LORD, at the blast of the breath of thy nostrils.
16He sent from above, he took me, he drew me out of many waters.18.16 many: or, great
17He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them which hated me: for they were too strong for me.
18They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the LORD was my stay.
19He brought me forth also into a large place; he delivered me, because he delighted in me.
20The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me.
21For I have kept the ways of the LORD, and have not wickedly departed from my God.
22For all his judgments were before me, and I did not put away his statutes from me.
23I was also upright before him, and I kept myself from mine iniquity.18.23 before: Heb. with
24Therefore hath the LORD recompensed me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands in his eyesight.18.24 in…: Heb. before his eyes
25With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful; with an upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright;
26With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt shew thyself froward.18.26 shew thyself froward: or, wrestle
27For thou wilt save the afflicted people; but wilt bring down high looks.
28For thou wilt light my candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness.18.28 candle: or, lamp
29For by thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall.18.29 run…: or, broken
30As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him.18.30 tried: or, refined
31For who is God save the LORD? or who is a rock save our God?
32It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect.
33He maketh my feet like hinds’ feet, and setteth me upon my high places.
34He teacheth my hands to war, so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.
35Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy right hand hath holden me up, and thy gentleness hath made me great.18.35 thy gentleness…: or, with thy meekness thou hast multiplied me
36Thou hast enlarged my steps under me, that my feet did not slip.18.36 my feet: Heb. mine ankles
37I have pursued mine enemies, and overtaken them: neither did I turn again till they were consumed.
38I have wounded them that they were not able to rise: they are fallen under my feet.
39For thou hast girded me with strength unto the battle: thou hast subdued under me those that rose up against me.18.39 subdued: Heb. caused to bow
40Thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies; that I might destroy them that hate me.
41They cried, but there was none to save them: even unto the LORD, but he answered them not.
42Then did I beat them small as the dust before the wind: I did cast them out as the dirt in the streets.
43Thou hast delivered me from the strivings of the people; and thou hast made me the head of the heathen: a people whom I have not known shall serve me.

46The LORD liveth; and blessed be my rock; and let the God of my salvation be exalted.

48He delivereth me from mine enemies: yea, thou liftest me up above those that rise up against me: thou hast delivered me from the violent man.18.48 violent…: Heb. man of violence

50Great deliverance giveth he to his king; and sheweth mercy to his anointed, to David, and to his seed for evermore.
