Divorce
1Jesus then left that place and went into the region of Judea and across the Jordan. Again crowds of people came to him, and as was his custom, he taught them.
2Some Pharisees came and tested him by asking, ‘Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?’
3‘What did Moses command you?’ he replied.
4They said, ‘Moses permitted a man to write a certificate of divorce and send her away.’
5‘It was because your hearts were hard that Moses wrote you this law,’ Jesus replied. 6‘But at the beginning of creation God “made them male and female”.10:6 Gen. 1:27 7“For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife,10:7 Some early manuscripts do not have and be united to his wife. 8and the two will become one flesh.”10:8 Gen. 2:24 So they are no longer two, but one flesh. 9Therefore what God has joined together, let no-one separate.’
10When they were in the house again, the disciples asked Jesus about this. 11He answered, ‘Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery against her. 12And if she divorces her husband and marries another man, she commits adultery.’
The little children and Jesus
13People were bringing little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them, but the disciples rebuked them. 14When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. 15Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.’ 16And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them.
The rich and the kingdom of God
17As Jesus started on his way, a man ran up to him and fell on his knees before him. ‘Good teacher,’ he asked, ‘what must I do to inherit eternal life?’
18‘Why do you call me good?’ Jesus answered. ‘No-one is good – except God alone. 19You know the commandments: “You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, you shall not defraud, honour your father and mother.”10:19 Exodus 20:12-16; Deut. 5:16-20’
20‘Teacher,’ he declared, ‘all these I have kept since I was a boy.’
21Jesus looked at him and loved him. ‘One thing you lack,’ he said. ‘Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.’
22At this the man’s face fell. He went away sad, because he had great wealth.
23Jesus looked round and said to his disciples, ‘How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God!’
24The disciples were amazed at his words. But Jesus said again, ‘Children, how hard it is10:24 Some manuscripts is for those who trust in riches to enter the kingdom of God! 25It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.’
26The disciples were even more amazed, and said to each other, ‘Who then can be saved?’
27Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.’
28Then Peter spoke up, ‘We have left everything to follow you!’
29‘Truly I tell you,’ Jesus replied, ‘no-one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel 30will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age: homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields – along with persecutions – and in the age to come eternal life. 31But many who are first will be last, and the last first.’
Jesus predicts his death a third time
32They were on their way up to Jerusalem, with Jesus leading the way, and the disciples were astonished, while those who followed were afraid. Again he took the Twelve aside and told them what was going to happen to him. 33‘We are going up to Jerusalem,’ he said, ‘and the Son of Man will be delivered over to the chief priests and the teachers of the law. They will condemn him to death and will hand him over to the Gentiles, 34who will mock him and spit on him, flog him and kill him. Three days later he will rise.’
The request of James and John
35Then James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to him. ‘Teacher,’ they said, ‘we want you to do for us whatever we ask.’
36‘What do you want me to do for you?’ he asked.
37They replied, ‘Let one of us sit at your right and the other at your left in your glory.’
38‘You don’t know what you are asking,’ Jesus said. ‘Can you drink the cup I drink or be baptised with the baptism I am baptised with?’
39‘We can,’ they answered.
Jesus said to them, ‘You will drink the cup I drink and be baptised with the baptism I am baptised with, 40but to sit at my right or left is not for me to grant. These places belong to those for whom they have been prepared.’
41When the ten heard about this, they became indignant with James and John. 42Jesus called them together and said, ‘You know that those who are regarded as rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. 43Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, 44and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all. 45For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.’
Blind Bartimaeus receives his sight
46Then they came to Jericho. As Jesus and his disciples, together with a large crowd, were leaving the city, a blind man, Bartimaeus (which means ‘son of Timaeus’), was sitting by the roadside begging. 47When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout, ‘Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!’
48Many rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, ‘Son of David, have mercy on me!’
49Jesus stopped and said, ‘Call him.’
So they called to the blind man, ‘Cheer up! On your feet! He’s calling you.’ 50Throwing his cloak aside, he jumped to his feet and came to Jesus.
51‘What do you want me to do for you?’ Jesus asked him.
The blind man said, ‘Rabbi, I want to see.’
52‘Go,’ said Jesus, ‘your faith has healed you.’ Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road.
तलाक के बारे म यीसू के सिकछा
(मत्ती 19:1-12; लूका 16:18)
1तब यीसू ह ओ जगह ला छोंड़के यहूदिया के सीमना अऊ यरदन नदी के ओ पार गीस। अऊ भीड़ ह फेर ओकर करा जुर गीस अऊ अपन रीति के मुताबिक ओह फेर ओमन ला उपदेस देवन लगिस।
2तब कुछू फरीसीमन आके ओला परखे बर पुछन लगिन, “कहूं कोनो मरद ह अपन घरवाली ला छोंड़ देथे, त का एह परमेसर के बचन के मुताबिक अय?”
3ओह ओमन ला कहिस, “मूसा ह तुमन ला का हुकूम दे हवय?”
4ओमन कहिन, “मूसा ह मरद ला तियाग पतर लिखके अपन घरवाली ला छोंड़े के हुकूम दे हवय।”
5यीसू ह कहिस, “तुम्हर हिरदय के ढिठई के कारन मूसा ह अइसने हुकूम तुम्हर बर लिखे हवय। 6पर ए संसार के सुरू म परमेसर ह ओमन ला नर अऊ नारी करके बनाईस।10:6 उतपत्ती 1:27 7एकरे कारन मरद ह अपन दाई-ददा ले अलग होके अपन घरवाली संग रहिही। 8अऊ ओ दूनों एक तन होहीं।10:8 उतपत्ती 2:24 ओमन अब दू नइं, पर एक अंय। 9एकरसेति, जऊन ला परमेसर ह जोड़े हवय, ओला मनखे अलग झन करय।”
10जब ओमन घर के भीतर आईन, त चेलामन एकर बारे म यीसू ले फेर पुछिन। 11ओह कहिस, “जऊन कोनो अपन घरवाली ला छोंड़के आने माईलोगन ले बिहाव करथे, त ओह पहिली घरवाली के बिरोध म छिनारी करथे। 12अऊ कहूं, कोनो माईलोगन ह अपन घरवाला ला छोंड़के आने मनखे ले बिहाव करथे, त ओह घलो छिनारी करथे।”
यीसू अऊ छोटे लइकामन
(मत्ती 19:13-15; लूका 18:15-17)
13मनखेमन छोटे लइकामन ला यीसू करा लाने लगिन कि ओह ओमन ऊपर अपन हांथ रखय, पर चेलामन मनखेमन ला दबकारे लगिन। 14जब यीसू ह एला देखिस, त नाराज होके ओमन ला कहिस, “लइकामन ला मोर करा आवन दव; ओमन ला मना झन करव, काबरकि परमेसर के राज ह अइसने मन बर अय। 15मेंह तुमन ला सच कहत हंव कि जऊन कोनो परमेसर के राज ला छोटे लइका सहीं गरहन नइं करय, ओह ओम कभू परवेस करन नइं सकय।” 16अऊ ओह लइकामन ला अपन कोरा म पाईस अऊ ओमन ऊपर अपन हांथ रखके ओमन ला आसिस दीस।
धनी मनखे
(मत्ती 19:16-30; लूका 18:18-30)
17जब यीसू ह फेर डहार म जावत रिहिस, त एक मनखे दऊड़के आईस अऊ ओकर गोड़ खाल्हे माड़ी के भार गिरके ओकर ले पुछिस, “हे बने गुरू! सदाकाल के जिनगी पाय बर मेंह का करंव?”
18यीसू ह ओला कहिस, “तेंह मोला काबर बने कहत हवस? कोनो बने नो हंय, सिरिप एके झन – परमेसर के छोंड़। 19तेंह हुकूममन ला त जानत हवस: ‘हतिया झन करव, छिनारी झन करव, चोरी झन करव, लबारी गवाही झन देवव, कोनो ला झन ठगव, अपन दाई-ददा के आदर-मान करव।’10:19 निरगमन 20:12”
20ओ मनखे ह कहिस, “हे गुरू! ए जम्मो ला मेंह अपन लइकापन ले मानत आवत हंव10:20 इहां लइकापन के मतलब 13 साल के उमर हो सकथे, काबरकि यहूदी टूरामन 13 साल के उमर म मूसा के कानून ला माने बर जिम्मेदार समझे जावंय।।”
21ओला देखके, यीसू ला ओकर ऊपर मया आईस, अऊ यीसू ह ओला कहिस, “तोर म एक बात के कमी हवय। जा, जऊन कुछू तोर करा हवय, ओला बेंचके गरीबमन ला देय दे, तब तोला स्वरग म संपत्ति मिलही। तब आ अऊ मोर पाछू हो ले।”
22एला सुनके ओ मनखे के चेहरा ह उतर गे अऊ ओह उदास होके उहां ले चल दीस, काबरकि ओह अब्बड़ संपत्ति वाला रिहिस।
23यीसू ह चारों कोति देखके अपन चेलामन ला कहिस, “धनवानमन के परमेसर के राज म जवई बहुंत कठिन ए।”
24चेलामन ओकर बात ला सुनके चकित हो गीन। पर यीसू ह फेर कहिस, “हे लइकामन हो! परमेसर के राज म जवई कतेक कठिन ए। 25परमेसर के राज म एक धनवान के परवेस करई के बनिसपत, ऊंट के सुजी के छेदा म ले निकर जवई ह सहज ए।”
26चेलामन अऊ चकित होके एक-दूसर ला कहिन, “त फेर कोन ह उद्धार पा सकथे?”
27यीसू ह ओमन ला देखिस अऊ कहिस, “मनखेमन के दुवारा एह नइं हो सकय, पर परमेसर के दुवारा हो सकथे, काबरकि परमेसर बर कोनो बात ह असंभव नो हय।”
28पतरस ह ओला कहिस, “देख, हमन तो जम्मो कुछू ला छोंड़के तोर पाछू हो ले हवन।”
29यीसू ह कहिस, “मेंह तुमन ला सच कहत हंव कि जऊन कोनो, मोर अऊ सुघर संदेस बर अपन घर या भाई या बहिनी या दाई या ददा या लइकामन या खेत-खार ला छोंड़ दे हवय, 30ओह ए समय म ए चीजमन ला सौ गुना पाही (घर, भाई, बहिनी, दाई, लइका अऊ खेत-खार – अऊ संग म सतावा) अऊ अवइया समय म ओला सदाकाल के जिनगी मिलही। 31पर बहुंत झन जऊन मन अभी आघू म हवंय, ओमन आखिरी म हो जाहीं अऊ जऊन मन आखिरी म हवंय, ओमन आघू हो जाहीं।”
यीसू ह फेर अपन मिरतू के अगमबानी करथे
(मत्ती 20:17-19; लूका 18:31-34)
32ओमन यरूसलेम के डहार म रिहिन अऊ यीसू ह आघू-आघू रेंगत रहय। चेलामन घबरा गे रहंय अऊ पाछू रेंगइया मन डर्रा गे रहंय। यीसू ह फेर बारहों झन ला अलग ले जाके ओमन ला बताय लगिस कि ओकर संग का होवइया हवय। 33ओह कहिस, “देखव, हमन यरूसलेम जावत हन अऊ मनखे के बेटा ला पकड़े जाही अऊ मुखिया पुरोहित अऊ कानून के गुरू मन करा लाय जाही, अऊ ओमन ओला मार डारे के सजा दिहीं अऊ ओला ओमन आनजातमन के हांथ म सऊंप दिहीं। 34ओ आनजातमन ओकर हंसी उड़ाहीं अऊ ओकर ऊपर थूकहीं अऊ ओला कोर्रा म मारहीं अऊ ओेला मार डारहीं। पर तीन दिन के पाछू ओह जी उठही।”
याकूब अऊ यूहन्ना के बिनती
(मत्ती 20:20-28)
35तब जबदी के बेटा याकूब अऊ यूहन्ना ओकर करा आके कहिन, “हे गुरू, हमन चाहथन कि जऊन कुछू हमन तोर ले मांगबो, ओही ला तेंह हमर बर कर।”
36ओह पुछिस, “तुमन का चाहथव कि मेंह तुम्हर बर करंव?”
37ओमन कहिन, “तोर राज म जब तेंह सिंघासन म बईठबे, त हमर दूनों म के एक झन ला तोर जेवनी अऊ दूसर ला तोर डेरी कोति बईठन देबे।”
38तब यीसू ह ओमन ला कहिस, “तुमन नइं जानत हव कि तुमन का मांगत हव? जऊन दुःख के कटोरा म ले मेंह पीवइया हवंव, का तुमन ओम ले पी सकहू? या जऊन पीरा के बतिसमा ला मेंह लेवइया हवंव, का तुमन ओ बतिसमा ला ले सकहू?”
39ओमन कहिन, “हमर ले ए हो सकथे।”
तब यीसू ह ओमन ला कहिस, “जऊन कटोरा म ले मेंह पीहूं, ओम ले तुमन पीहू अऊ जऊन बतिसमा मेंह लूहूं, ओला तुमन लूहू, 40पर मोर जेवनी या डेरी कोति बईठाय के मोला अधिकार नइं ए। ए जगह ओमन के अय, जऊन मन बर एह तियार करे गे हवय।”
41जब आने चेलामन एकर बारे म सुनिन, त ओमन याकूब अऊ यूहन्ना ऊपर खिसियाय लगिन। 42एकरसेति यीसू ह ओमन ला एक संग अपन लकठा म बलाके कहिस, “जइसने कि तुमन जानथव, जऊन मन आनजातमन के हाकिम समझे जाथें, ओमन आनजातमन ऊपर परभूता करथें अऊ ओमन के बड़े अधिकारीमन ओमन ऊपर अधिकार जमाथें। 43तुम्हर संग अइसने नो हय। पर तुमन ले जऊन ह बड़े होय चाहथे, ओह तुम्हर सेवक बनय, 44अऊ जऊन ह सबले पहिली होय चाहथे, ओह जम्मो झन के गुलाम बनय। 45काबरकि मनखे के बेटा ह ए खातिर नइं आय हवय कि ओकर सेवा करे जावय, पर ए खातिर आय हवय कि ओह सेवा करय, अऊ बहुंत झन के छुड़ौती खातिर अपन परान ला देवय।”
बरतिमाई अंधरा देखन लगथे
(मत्ती 20:29-34; लूका 18:35-43)
46तब यीसू अऊ ओकर चेलामन यरीहो सहर म आईन अऊ जब ओमन एक बड़े भीड़ के संग यरीहो ले निकरके जावत रिहिन, त तिमाई के बेटा बरतिमाई नांव के एक मनखे, जऊन ह अंधरा रिहिस, सड़क के तीर म बईठके भीख मांगत रहय। 47ओह ए सुनके कि नासरत के यीसू अय, चिचियाके कहिस, “हे दाऊद के संतान, यीसू! मोर ऊपर दया कर।”
48कतको झन ओला दबकारके कहिन, “चुपे रह।” पर ओह अऊ चिचियाके कहिस, “हे दाऊद के संतान! मोर ऊपर दया कर।”
49जब यीसू ह सुनिस, त ठाढ़ होके कहिस, “ओला इहां बलावव।”
तब मनखेमन ओ अंधरा ला बलाके कहिन, “खुसी मना अऊ उठ। ओह तोला बलावत हवय।” 50ओह अपन ओढ़ना ला फटिक दीस अऊ कूदके ठाढ़ हो गीस अऊ यीसू करा आईस।
51यीसू ह ओकर ले पुछिस, “तेंह का चाहत हस कि मेंह तोर बर करंव?”
ओ अंधरा ह कहिस, “हे गुरू! मेंह देखे बर चाहत हंव।”
52यीसू ह कहिस, “जा, तोर बिसवास ह तोला बने करे हवय।” अऊ ओह तुरते देखन लगिस अऊ डहार म यीसू के पाछू हो लीस।
