God’s sure judgment on Jerusalem
1Then the Spirit lifted me up and brought me to the gate of the house of the Lord that faces east. There at the entrance of the gate were twenty-five men, and I saw among them Jaazaniah son of Azzur and Pelatiah son of Benaiah, leaders of the people. 2The Lord said to me, ‘Son of man, these are the men who are plotting evil and giving wicked advice in this city. 3They say, “Haven’t our houses been recently rebuilt? This city is a pot, and we are the meat in it.” 4Therefore prophesy against them; prophesy, son of man.’
5Then the Spirit of the Lord came on me, and he told me to say: ‘This is what the Lord says: that is what you are saying, you leaders in Israel, but I know what is going through your mind. 6You have killed many people in this city and filled its streets with the dead.
7‘Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: the bodies you have thrown there are the meat and this city is the pot, but I will drive you out of it. 8You fear the sword, and the sword is what I will bring against you, declares the Sovereign Lord. 9I will drive you out of the city and deliver you into the hands of foreigners and inflict punishment on you. 10You will fall by the sword, and I will execute judgment on you at the borders of Israel. Then you will know that I am the Lord. 11This city will not be a pot for you, nor will you be the meat in it; I will execute judgment on you at the borders of Israel. 12And you will know that I am the Lord, for you have not followed my decrees or kept my laws but have conformed to the standards of the nations around you.’
13Now as I was prophesying, Pelatiah son of Benaiah died. Then I fell face down and cried out in a loud voice, ‘Alas, Sovereign Lord! Will you completely destroy the remnant of Israel?’
The promise of Israel’s return
14The word of the Lord came to me: 15‘Son of man, the people of Jerusalem have said of your fellow exiles and all the other Israelites, “They are far away from the Lord; this land was given to us as our possession.”
16‘Therefore say: “This is what the Sovereign Lord says: although I sent them far away among the nations and scattered them among the countries, yet for a little while I have been a sanctuary for them in the countries where they have gone.”
17‘Therefore say: “This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I will gather you from the nations and bring you back from the countries where you have been scattered, and I will give you back the land of Israel again.”
18‘They will return to it and remove all its vile images and detestable idols. 19I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them; I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh. 20Then they will follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. They will be my people, and I will be their God. 21But as for those whose hearts are devoted to their vile images and detestable idols, I will bring down on their own heads what they have done, declares the Sovereign Lord.’
22Then the cherubim, with the wheels beside them, spread their wings, and the glory of the God of Israel was above them. 23The glory of the Lord went up from within the city and stopped above the mountain east of it. 24The Spirit lifted me up and brought me to the exiles in Babylonia11:24 Or Chaldea in the vision given by the Spirit of God.
Then the vision I had seen went up from me, 25and I told the exiles everything the Lord had shown me.
Silutan sang Dios ang Jerusalem
1Gin-alsa ako sang Espiritu kag gindala sa puwertahan sang templo sang Ginoo nga nagaatubang sa sidlangan. Didto sa puwertahan may 25 ka tawo, kag ang duha sa ila amo si Jaazania nga anak ni Azur kag si Pelatia nga anak ni Benaya, nga mga pangulo sang katawhan. 2Nagsiling ang Ginoo sa akon, “Tawo, sila amo ang mga nagaplano sing malain kag nagalaygay sang indi maayo sa mga tawo sa sini nga siyudad. 3Nagasiling sila, ‘Maayo ini nga tion nga magpatindog sang mga balay.11:3 Maayo… balay: Indi klaro ang buot silingon sang Hebreo sini. Wala sing may mag-ano sa aton. Ang aton siyudad pareho sang kaldero kag kita pareho sang karne sa sulod sini nga indi masunog sang kalayo.’ 4Gani tawo, maghambal ka kontra sa ila.”
5Dayon gin-gamhan ako sang Espiritu sang Ginoo kag ginsilingan niya ako nga ihambal ko ini: “Amo ini ang ginasiling sang Ginoo sa inyo nga katawhan sang Israel: Nahibaluan ko kon ano ang inyo ginasiling kag ginahunahuna. 6Madamo ang inyo ginpamatay sa sini nga siyudad kag naglalapta lang ang mga bangkay sa karsada. 7Gani ako, ang Ginoong Dios, nagasiling sini sa inyo: Matuod nga ini nga siyudad pareho sang kaldero, pero ang mga bangkay nga ginlapta ninyo sa siyudad amo ang karne.11:7 karne: Subong nga ang karne amo ang maayo nga parte sang sapat, ang mga inosente nga mga tawo nga ginpamatay amo ang maayo nga parte sang nasyon. Kag kamo iya palayason ko sa sini nga siyudad. 8Nahadlok kamo sa inaway,11:8 inaway: sa literal, espada. pero ipasalakay ko kamo sa inyo nga kaaway. Ako, ang Ginoong Dios, ang nagasiling sini. 9Palayason ko kamo sa sini nga siyudad kag ipabihag sa mga taga-iban nga lugar kag ipasilutan ko kamo sa ila. 10Mapatay kamo sa inaway hasta sa dulunan sang Israel. Dayon mahibaluan ninyo nga ako amo ang Ginoo. 11Ining siyudad indi mangin pareho sang kaldero para sa inyo, kag kamo indi mangin pareho sang karne sa sulod sini. Kay silutan ko kamo hasta sa dulunan sang Israel. 12Dayon mahibaluan ninyo nga ako amo ang Ginoo. Himuon ko ini kay wala kamo nagtuman sa akon mga sugo kag mga pagsulundan. Ang inyo gintuman amo ang mga pagsulundan sang mga nasyon sa palibot ninyo.”
13Samtang nagasugid ako sang mensahi sang Dios, napatay si Pelatia nga anak ni Benaya. Naghapa dayon ako kag nagsinggit sing mabaskog, “O Ginoong Dios, ubuson mo gid bala kalaglag ang nabilin nga mga Israelinhon?” 14Nagsiling ang Ginoo sa akon, 15“Tawo, ang mga katawhan nga nabilin sa Jerusalem nagahambal parte sa ila mga kadugo nga ginbihag, kag amo ini ang ila ginasiling, ‘Malayo sila sa Ginoo; kag ang ini nga duta ginhatag na sang Ginoo sa aton nga aton panag-iyahan.’
16“Gani silinga ang kaupod mo nga mga bihag nga ako, ang Ginoong Dios, nagasiling, ‘Ginpabihag ko kamo kag ginpalapta sa iban nga mga nasyon, pero bisan paano ara ang akon presensya sa inyo sa sina nga mga lugar. 17Gani ako, ang Ginoong Dios, nagasiling nga tipunon ko kamo halin sa mga nasyon nga sa diin naglalapta kamo, kag ihatag ko liwat sa inyo ang duta sang Israel. 18Sa inyo pagbalik sa inyo lugar, kuhaon ninyo ang tanan nga makangilil-ad nga mga dios-dios didto. 19Bag-uhon ko ang inyo tagipusuon kag ang inyo panghunahuna. Indi na mangin matig-a ang inyo mga ulo kundi mangin matutom na kamo sa akon. 20Tumanon na ninyo ang akon mga sugo kag mga pagsulundan. Mangin katawhan ko kamo, kag ako mangin inyo Dios. 21Pero atong nagasimba sa ila makangilil-ad nga mga dios-dios, silutan ko sila suno sa ila binuhatan. Ako, ang Ginoong Dios, ang nagasiling sini.’ ”
22Dayon naglupad ang mga kerubin upod ang mga rueda sa kilid nila, kag ang gamhanan nga presensya sang Dios sang Israel ara sa ibabaw nila. 23Dayon nagpaibabaw ang gamhanan nga presensya sang Ginoo halin sa siyudad, kag nagpundo sa bukid sa sidlangan sang siyudad. 24Dayon nakita ko sa palanan-awon nga ginhatag sa akon sang Espiritu sang Dios nga gin-alsa niya ako kag gindala pabalik sa mga bihag sa Babilonia. Kag nadula ang palanan-awon nga akon nakita. 25Dayon ginsugiran ko ang mga bihag sang tanan nga ginpakita sang Ginoo sa akon.
