Solomon builds the temple
1In the four hundred and eightieth6:1 Hebrew; Septuagint four hundred and fortieth year after the Israelites came out of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon’s reign over Israel, in the month of Ziv, the second month, he began to build the temple of the Lord.
2The temple that King Solomon built for the Lord was sixty cubits long, twenty wide and thirty high.6:2 That is, about 27 metres long, 9 metres wide and 14 metres high 3The portico at the front of the main hall of the temple extended the width of the temple, that is twenty cubits,6:3 That is, about 9 metres; also in verses 16 and 20 and projected ten cubits6:3 That is, about 4.5 metres; also in verses 23-26 from the front of the temple. 4He made narrow windows high up in the temple walls. 5Against the walls of the main hall and inner sanctuary he built a structure around the building, in which there were side rooms. 6The lowest floor was five cubits6:6 That is, about 2.3 metres; also in verses 10 and 24 wide, the middle floor six cubits6:6 That is, about 2.7 metres and the third floor seven.6:6 That is, about 3.2 metres He made offset ledges around the outside of the temple so that nothing would be inserted into the temple walls.
7In building the temple, only blocks dressed at the quarry were used, and no hammer, chisel or any other iron tool was heard at the temple site while it was being built.
8The entrance to the lowest6:8 Septuagint; Hebrew middle floor was on the south side of the temple; a stairway led up to the middle level and from there to the third. 9So he built the temple and completed it, roofing it with beams and cedar planks. 10And he built the side rooms all along the temple. The height of each was five cubits, and they were attached to the temple by beams of cedar.
11The word of the Lord came to Solomon: 12‘As for this temple you are building, if you follow my decrees, observe my laws and keep all my commands and obey them, I will fulfil through you the promise I gave to David your father. 13And I will live among the Israelites and will not abandon my people Israel.’
14So Solomon built the temple and completed it. 15He lined its interior walls with cedar boards, panelling them from the floor of the temple to the ceiling, and covered the floor of the temple with planks of juniper. 16He partitioned off twenty cubits at the rear of the temple with cedar boards from floor to ceiling to form within the temple an inner sanctuary, the Most Holy Place. 17The main hall in front of this room was forty cubits6:17 That is, about 18 metres long. 18The inside of the temple was cedar, carved with gourds and open flowers. Everything was cedar; no stone was to be seen.
19He prepared the inner sanctuary within the temple to set the ark of the covenant of the Lord there. 20The inner sanctuary was twenty cubits long, twenty wide and twenty high. He overlaid the inside with pure gold, and he also overlaid the altar of cedar. 21Solomon covered the inside of the temple with pure gold, and he extended gold chains across the front of the inner sanctuary, which was overlaid with gold. 22So he overlaid the whole interior with gold. He also overlaid with gold the altar that belonged to the inner sanctuary.
23For the inner sanctuary he made a pair of cherubim out of olive wood, each ten cubits high. 24One wing of the first cherub was five cubits long, and the other wing five cubits – ten cubits from wing tip to wing tip. 25The second cherub also measured ten cubits, for the two cherubim were identical in size and shape. 26The height of each cherub was ten cubits. 27He placed the cherubim inside the innermost room of the temple, with their wings spread out. The wing of one cherub touched one wall, while the wing of the other touched the other wall, and their wings touched each other in the middle of the room. 28He overlaid the cherubim with gold.
29On the walls all round the temple, in both the inner and outer rooms, he carved cherubim, palm trees and open flowers. 30He also covered the floors of both the inner and outer rooms of the temple with gold.
31For the entrance to the inner sanctuary he made doors out of olive wood that were one fifth of the width of the sanctuary. 32And on the two olive-wood doors he carved cherubim, palm trees and open flowers, and overlaid the cherubim and palm trees with hammered gold. 33In the same way, for the entrance to the main hall he made doorframes out of olive wood that were one quarter of the width of the hall. 34He also made two doors out of juniper wood, each having two leaves that turned in sockets. 35He carved cherubim, palm trees and open flowers on them and overlaid them with gold hammered evenly over the carvings.
36And he built the inner courtyard of three courses of dressed stone and one course of trimmed cedar beams.
37The foundation of the temple of the Lord was laid in the fourth year, in the month of Ziv. 38In the eleventh year in the month of Bul, the eighth month, the temple was finished in all its details according to its specifications. He had spent seven years building it.

Ini nga mga kuwarto may tatlo ka panalgan, kag nagatapik sa dingding sang templo. 6Ang kasangkaron sang nahauna nga panalgan pito kag tunga ka tapak, ang ikaduha nga panalgan siyam ka tapak, kag ang ikatlo nga panalgan napulo kag tunga ka tapak. Ang dingding sang templo nagaamat-amat nipis sa kada panalgan agod makatungtong ang mga kuwarto sa dingding nga indi na kinahanglan sang mga sintas.
7Sang ginpatindog ang templo, ang mga bato nga gin-gamit ginsapsapan na nga daan sa ginkuhaan sini, gani wala na sing may mabatian nga pukpok sang mga martilyo, sinsil, ukon sang bisan ano nga gamit nga salsalon.
8Ang alagyan pasulod sa nahauna nga panalgan ara dampi sa bagatnan sang templo. May mga hagdanan pakadto sa ikaduha kag ikatlo nga panalgan. 9Sang nabutang na ang mga dingding sang templo, ginpabutangan ini ni Solomon sang kisame nga ang mga tapi sedro. 10Kag ang mga kuwarto sa mga kilid kag likod sang templo nga ang kataason pito kag tunga ka tapak gin-angot sa templo paagi man sa mga kahoy nga sedro.
11Nagsiling ang Ginoo kay Solomon, 12-13“Kon tumanon mo ang akon mga pagsulundan kag mga sugo, tumanon ko man paagi sa imo ang akon ginpromisa kay David nga imo amay. Magapuyo ako upod sa akon katawhan nga mga Israelinhon sa sining templo nga imo ginapatindog kag indi ko sila pagsikwayon.”
14Natapos gid man ni Solomon ang pagpatindog sang templo.
Ang mga Ginpaobra sa Sulod sang Templo

15Ang sa sulod nga dingding sang templo nahaklapan sang tapi nga sedro halin sa salog hasta sa kisame, kag ang salog kahoy nga sipres. 16Nagpahimo siya sang duha ka kuwarto sa sulod sang templo paagi sa pagbutang sang debisyon halin sa salog hasta sa kisame. Ang gin-gamit nga debisyon tapi nga sedro. Ang kuwarto sa likod dampi sang templo gintawag nga Labing Balaan nga Lugar, kag ang kalabaon sini 30 ka tapak. 17Ang kalabaon naman sang kuwarto sa guwa sang Labing Balaan nga Lugar 60 ka tapak. 18Ang bug-os nga dingding sa sulod sang templo nahaklapan sang tapi nga sedro, gani indi makita ang mga bato sa dingding. May mga ginkorte sa dingding nga mga bulak nga nagabuskad kag mga nagagapa nga mga tanom.
19Ginpreparar ni Solomon ang Labing Balaan nga Lugar sa sulod sang templo agod didto ibutang ang Kahon sang Kasugtanan sang Ginoo. 20Ini nga kuwarto kuwadrado; ang iya kalabaon, kasangkaron, kag kataason pareho nga 30 ka tapak. Ang mga dingding kag kisame sini ginpahaklapan ni Solomon sang puro nga bulawan, kag amo man ang halaran nga hinimo halin sa kahoy nga sedro. 21Ang iban nga parte sang sulod sang templo ginpahaklapan man niya sang puro nga bulawan. Nagpahimo siya sang bulawan nga kadena kag ginpahigot niya ini pabalabag sa alagyan nga pasulod sa Labing Balaan nga Lugar. 22Gani nahaklapan tanan sang bulawan ang sulod sang templo pati ang halaran nga ara sa sulod sang Labing Balaan nga Lugar.
23Nagpabutang si Solomon sa sulod sang Labing Balaan nga Lugar sang duha ka kerubin nga hinimo halin sa kahoy nga olibo, nga ang kada isa 15 ka tapak ang kataason. 24-26Ining duha ka kerubin pareho ka dako kag pareho man ang ila korte. Ang kada isa may duha ka pakpak, kag ang kada pakpak may kalabaon nga pito kag tunga ka tapak. Gani ang kalabaon halin sa punta sang isa ka pakpak hasta sa punta sang isa ka pakpak 15 ka tapak. 27Ginpatupad sila ni Solomon sa sulod sang Labing Balaan nga Lugar nga nagahumlad ang ila mga pakpak. Ang pihak nila nga pakpak nagatanduganay, kag natuon ini sa tunga sang kuwarto. Kag ang pihak pa gid nila nga pakpak nagatandog sa dingding. 28Ginpahaklapan man ni Solomon sang bulawan ining duha ka kerubin.
29Ang tanan nga dingding sa duha ka kuwarto sang templo ginpakortihan ni Solomon sang mga kerubin, mga palma, kag mga bulak nga nagabuskad. 30Bisan ang salog sa duha ka kuwarto ginpahaklapan man niya sang bulawan.
31Ang alagyan pasulod sa Labing Balaan nga Lugar may duha ka sira nga hinimo halin sa kahoy nga olibo, kag may mga hamba6:31 hamba: sa English, doorpost. ini nga lima ang kilid. 32Ini nga mga sira ginpakortihan ni Solomon sang mga kerubin, mga palma, kag mga bulak nga nagabuskad, kag ginpahaklapan sang bulawan.
33Ang alagyan nga pasulod sa templo ginpahimuan man ni Solomon sang rektanggulo nga mga hamba nga hinimo halin sa kahoy nga olibo. 34May duha man ini ka sira nga hinimo halin sa kahoy nga sipres, kag ang kada isa sini may duha ka bahin nga puwede mapilo-pilo. 35Ginpakortihan man ini ni Solomon sang mga kerubin, mga palma, kag mga bulak nga nagabuskad, kag ginpahaklapan sing palareho nga kadamulon sang bulawan.
36Ginpahimo man niya ang sa sulod nga lagwerta sang templo. Napalibutan ini sang pader nga ang kada tatlo ka sampaw sang mga bato sini nga nabasbasan nasampawan sang kahoy nga sedro.
37Napatindog ang pundasyon sang templo sang Ginoo sang ikaduha nga bulan, nga amo ang bulan sang Ziv, sadtong ikaapat nga tuig sang paghari ni Solomon. 38Natapos ang templo sang ikawalo nga bulan, nga amo ang bulan sang Bul, sadtong ikaonse nga tuig sang paghari ni Solomon. Pito ka tuig ang pagpatindog sang templo, kag ginsunod gid ang mga detalye sini suno sa plano.
