Psalm 71
1In you, Lord, I have taken refuge;
let me never be put to shame.
2In your righteousness, rescue me and deliver me;
turn your ear to me and save me.
3Be my rock of refuge,
to which I can always go;
give the command to save me,
for you are my rock and my fortress.
4Deliver me, my God, from the hand of the wicked,
from the grasp of those who are evil and cruel.
5For you have been my hope, Sovereign Lord,
my confidence since my youth.
6From birth I have relied on you;
you brought me forth from my mother’s womb.
I will ever praise you.
7I have become a sign to many;
you are my strong refuge.
8My mouth is filled with your praise,
declaring your splendor all day long.
9Do not cast me away when I am old;
do not forsake me when my strength is gone.
10For my enemies speak against me;
those who wait to kill me conspire together.
11They say, “God has forsaken him;
pursue him and seize him,
for no one will rescue him.”
12Do not be far from me, my God;
come quickly, God, to help me.
13May my accusers perish in shame;
may those who want to harm me
be covered with scorn and disgrace.
14As for me, I will always have hope;
I will praise you more and more.
15My mouth will tell of your righteous deeds,
of your saving acts all day long—
though I know not how to relate them all.
16I will come and proclaim your mighty acts, Sovereign Lord;
I will proclaim your righteous deeds, yours alone.
17Since my youth, God, you have taught me,
and to this day I declare your marvelous deeds.
18Even when I am old and gray,
do not forsake me, my God,
till I declare your power to the next generation,
your mighty acts to all who are to come.
19Your righteousness, God, reaches to the heavens,
you who have done great things.
Who is like you, God?
20Though you have made me see troubles,
many and bitter,
you will restore my life again;
from the depths of the earth
you will again bring me up.
21You will increase my honor
and comfort me once more.
22I will praise you with the harp
for your faithfulness, my God;
I will sing praise to you with the lyre,
Holy One of Israel.
23My lips will shout for joy
when I sing praise to you—
I whom you have delivered.
24My tongue will tell of your righteous acts
all day long,
for those who wanted to harm me
have been put to shame and confusion.

1主よ。あなたは私の隠れ場です。
私がくずおれないよう、お守りください。
2不正を憎まれる方よ、この訴えに耳を傾け、
救いの手を差し伸べてください。
3私を守る大きな岩となり、
いつでも私をかくまい、
あらゆる攻撃から守ってください。
4ああ神よ、不正をする残忍な者どもの手から、
逃れさせてください。
5ああ主よ、あなただけが頼りです。
私は幼いころからあなたに信頼してきました。
6そうです、産声を上げた瞬間から、
あなたは私のそばにいて、
いつも助けてくださいました。
ですから、私はいつもあなたをほめたたえるのです。
7あなたの強力な守りのおかげで、
私は人々が目をみはるほどの成功を収めたのです。
8ああ神よ。私は一日中、あなたがしてくださった
数々のことを思い起こしては、
あなたを賛美し、栄誉をたたえています。
9私は年老いて体力も衰えています。
どうか、お見捨てにならないでください。
10敵はひそひそと話しています。
11「神もあいつを見限ったのだ。もうじゃまは入らない。
今度こそ、打ち倒すことができる。」
12ああ神よ、そんなに離れた所にいないでください。
急いで来て助けてください。
13敵を痛めつけ、恥をかかせてください。
14あなたが助けてくださると信じて待ちます。
ますますあなたをほめたたえます。
15何度、あなたが、危ない目から助けてくださったか、
数えきれないくらいです。
会う人ごとに、あなたの恵み深さと、
日々とぎれることのない思いやりとを告げましょう。
16主なる神の力をおびて歩き回り、
正しくて恵み深いお方はあなただけだと伝えましょう。
17ああ、子どもの時から私を助けてくださった神よ。
私は機会あるごとに、あなたのすばらしいわざを、
人々に伝えてきました。
18私は年をとり、髪は白くなりましたが、
どうか見捨てないでください。
神のすばらしい奇跡を
次の世代に伝えさせてください。
19神よ。あなたの力と恵みは天の天にまで届きます。
あなたほどすばらしいことをなさった神が、
ほかにあるでしょうか。
20あなたは私に難題を与え、
苦しみもがくようになさいました。
しかし、あなたは地中深くから私を引き上げ、
再び生き返らせてくださいます。
21そして、以前にもまさる名誉を与え、
再び御顔を見せて慰めてくださるのです。
22ああ、イスラエルのきよい神よ。
私は楽器をかなでてほめ歌を歌い、
あなたがどれほど約束に忠実なお方であるかを、
告げ知らせます。
23あなたに救い出していただいた私は、歓声を上げて、
感謝の賛歌を歌います。
24一日中、あなたの公正なさばきと温情とを、
人々に伝えます。
私に害を加えようとした者はみな、恥じ入り、
すっかり面目を失ったからです。
