The Appointed Festivals
1The Lord said to Moses, 2“Speak to the Israelites and say to them: ‘These are my appointed festivals, the appointed festivals of the Lord, which you are to proclaim as sacred assemblies.
The Sabbath
3“ ‘There are six days when you may work, but the seventh day is a day of sabbath rest, a day of sacred assembly. You are not to do any work; wherever you live, it is a sabbath to the Lord.
The Passover and the Festival of Unleavened Bread
4“ ‘These are the Lord’s appointed festivals, the sacred assemblies you are to proclaim at their appointed times: 5The Lord’s Passover begins at twilight on the fourteenth day of the first month. 6On the fifteenth day of that month the Lord’s Festival of Unleavened Bread begins; for seven days you must eat bread made without yeast. 7On the first day hold a sacred assembly and do no regular work. 8For seven days present a food offering to the Lord. And on the seventh day hold a sacred assembly and do no regular work.’ ”
Offering the Firstfruits
9The Lord said to Moses, 10“Speak to the Israelites and say to them: ‘When you enter the land I am going to give you and you reap its harvest, bring to the priest a sheaf of the first grain you harvest. 11He is to wave the sheaf before the Lord so it will be accepted on your behalf; the priest is to wave it on the day after the Sabbath. 12On the day you wave the sheaf, you must sacrifice as a burnt offering to the Lord a lamb a year old without defect, 13together with its grain offering of two-tenths of an ephah23:13 That is, probably about 7 pounds or about 3.2 kilograms; also in verse 17 of the finest flour mixed with olive oil—a food offering presented to the Lord, a pleasing aroma—and its drink offering of a quarter of a hin23:13 That is, about 1 quart or about 1 liter of wine. 14You must not eat any bread, or roasted or new grain, until the very day you bring this offering to your God. This is to be a lasting ordinance for the generations to come, wherever you live.
The Festival of Weeks
15“ ‘From the day after the Sabbath, the day you brought the sheaf of the wave offering, count off seven full weeks. 16Count off fifty days up to the day after the seventh Sabbath, and then present an offering of new grain to the Lord. 17From wherever you live, bring two loaves made of two-tenths of an ephah of the finest flour, baked with yeast, as a wave offering of firstfruits to the Lord. 18Present with this bread seven male lambs, each a year old and without defect, one young bull and two rams. They will be a burnt offering to the Lord, together with their grain offerings and drink offerings—a food offering, an aroma pleasing to the Lord. 19Then sacrifice one male goat for a sin offering23:19 Or purification offering and two lambs, each a year old, for a fellowship offering. 20The priest is to wave the two lambs before the Lord as a wave offering, together with the bread of the firstfruits. They are a sacred offering to the Lord for the priest. 21On that same day you are to proclaim a sacred assembly and do no regular work. This is to be a lasting ordinance for the generations to come, wherever you live.
22“ ‘When you reap the harvest of your land, do not reap to the very edges of your field or gather the gleanings of your harvest. Leave them for the poor and for the foreigner residing among you. I am the Lord your God.’ ”
The Festival of Trumpets
23The Lord said to Moses, 24“Say to the Israelites: ‘On the first day of the seventh month you are to have a day of sabbath rest, a sacred assembly commemorated with trumpet blasts. 25Do no regular work, but present a food offering to the Lord.’ ”
The Day of Atonement
26The Lord said to Moses, 27“The tenth day of this seventh month is the Day of Atonement. Hold a sacred assembly and deny yourselves,23:27 Or and fast; similarly in verses 29 and 32 and present a food offering to the Lord. 28Do not do any work on that day, because it is the Day of Atonement, when atonement is made for you before the Lord your God. 29Those who do not deny themselves on that day must be cut off from their people. 30I will destroy from among their people anyone who does any work on that day. 31You shall do no work at all. This is to be a lasting ordinance for the generations to come, wherever you live. 32It is a day of sabbath rest for you, and you must deny yourselves. From the evening of the ninth day of the month until the following evening you are to observe your sabbath.”
The Festival of Tabernacles
33The Lord said to Moses, 34“Say to the Israelites: ‘On the fifteenth day of the seventh month the Lord’s Festival of Tabernacles begins, and it lasts for seven days. 35The first day is a sacred assembly; do no regular work. 36For seven days present food offerings to the Lord, and on the eighth day hold a sacred assembly and present a food offering to the Lord. It is the closing special assembly; do no regular work.
37(“ ‘These are the Lord’s appointed festivals, which you are to proclaim as sacred assemblies for bringing food offerings to the Lord—the burnt offerings and grain offerings, sacrifices and drink offerings required for each day. 38These offerings are in addition to those for the Lord’s Sabbaths and23:38 Or These festivals are in addition to the Lord’s Sabbaths, and these offerings are in addition to your gifts and whatever you have vowed and all the freewill offerings you give to the Lord.)
39“ ‘So beginning with the fifteenth day of the seventh month, after you have gathered the crops of the land, celebrate the festival to the Lord for seven days; the first day is a day of sabbath rest, and the eighth day also is a day of sabbath rest. 40On the first day you are to take branches from luxuriant trees—from palms, willows and other leafy trees—and rejoice before the Lord your God for seven days. 41Celebrate this as a festival to the Lord for seven days each year. This is to be a lasting ordinance for the generations to come; celebrate it in the seventh month. 42Live in temporary shelters for seven days: All native-born Israelites are to live in such shelters 43so your descendants will know that I had the Israelites live in temporary shelters when I brought them out of Egypt. I am the Lord your God.’ ”
44So Moses announced to the Israelites the appointed festivals of the Lord.
Calendario de fiestas solemnes
1El Señor le ordenó a Moisés 2que les dijera a los israelitas: «Estas son las fiestas que yo he establecido, y a las que habéis de convocar como fiestas solemnes en mi honor. Yo, el Señor, las establecí.
Celebración del sábado
3»Trabajaréis durante seis días, pero el séptimo día es de reposo, es un día de fiesta solemne en mi honor, en el que no haréis ningún trabajo. Dondequiera que viváis, será sábado consagrado al Señor.
Fiesta de la Pascua
23:4-8 – Éx 12:14-20; Nm 28:16-25; Dt 16:1-8
4»Estas son las fiestas que el Señor ha establecido, las fiestas solemnes en su honor que deberéis convocar en las fechas señaladas para ellas:
5»La Pascua del Señor comienza el día catorce del mes primero, a la hora del crepúsculo. 6El día quince del mismo mes comienza la fiesta de los Panes sin levadura en honor al Señor. Durante siete días comeréis pan sin levadura. 7El primer día celebraréis una fiesta solemne en su honor; ese día no haréis ningún trabajo. 8Durante siete días presentaréis al Señor ofrendas por fuego, y el séptimo día celebraréis una fiesta solemne en su honor; ese día no haréis ningún trabajo».
Fiesta de las Primicias
9El Señor le ordenó a Moisés 10que les dijera a los israelitas: «Cuando hayáis entrado en la tierra que os voy a dar, y seguéis la mies, deberéis llevar al sacerdote una gavilla de las primeras espigas que cosechéis. 11El sacerdote mecerá la gavilla ante el Señor para que os sea aceptada. La mecerá a la mañana siguiente del sábado. 12Ese mismo día sacrificaréis vosotros un cordero de un año, sin defecto, como holocausto al Señor. 13También presentaréis cuatro kilos23:13 cuatro kilos. Lit. dos décimas (de efa); también en v. 17. de harina fina mezclada con aceite, como ofrenda de cereal, ofrenda por fuego, de aroma grato al Señor, y un litro23:13 un litro. Lit. un cuarto de hin. de vino como ofrenda de libación. 14No comeréis pan, ni grano tostado o nuevo, hasta el día en que traigáis esta ofrenda a vuestro Dios. Este será un estatuto perpetuo para todos vuestros descendientes, dondequiera que habitéis.
Fiesta de las Semanas
23:15-22 – Nm 28:26-31; Dt 16:9-12
15»A partir del día siguiente al sábado, es decir, a partir del día en que traigáis la gavilla de la ofrenda mecida, contaréis siete semanas completas. 16En otras palabras, contaréis cincuenta días incluyendo la mañana siguiente al séptimo sábado; entonces presentaréis al Señor una ofrenda de grano nuevo. 17Desde vuestro lugar de residencia le llevaréis al Señor, como ofrenda mecida de las primicias, dos panes hechos con cuatro kilos de flor de harina, cocidos con levadura. 18Junto con el pan deberéis presentar siete corderos de un año, sin defecto, un novillo y dos carneros. Seréis, junto con vuestras ofrendas de cereal y vuestras ofrendas de libación, un holocausto al Señor, una ofrenda presentada por fuego, de aroma grato al Señor. 19Luego sacrificaréis un macho cabrío como ofrenda por el pecado, y dos corderos de un año como sacrificio de comunión. 20El sacerdote mecerá los dos corderos, junto con el pan de las primicias. Son una ofrenda mecida ante el Señor, una ofrenda consagrada al Señor y reservada para el sacerdote. 21Ese mismo día convocaréis a una fiesta solemne en honor al Señor, y en ese día no haréis ningún trabajo. Este será un estatuto perpetuo para todos vuestros descendientes, dondequiera que habitéis.
22»Cuando llegue el tiempo de la cosecha, no seguéis hasta el último rincón del campo ni recojáis todas las espigas que queden de la mies. Dejadlas para los pobres y los extranjeros. Yo soy el Señor vuestro Dios».
Fiesta de las Trompetas
23:23-25 – Nm 29:1-6
23El Señor le ordenó a Moisés 24que les dijera a los israelitas: «El primer día del séptimo mes será para vosotros un día de reposo, una conmemoración con toques de trompeta, una fiesta solemne en honor al Señor. 25Ese día no haréis ningún trabajo, sino que presentaréis al Señor ofrendas por fuego».
El día del Perdón
23:26-32 – Lv 16:2-34; Nm 29:7-11
26El Señor le dijo a Moisés: 27«El día diez del mes séptimo es el día del Perdón. Celebraréis una fiesta solemne en honor al Señor, y ayunaréis y le presentaréis ofrendas por fuego. 28En ese día no haréis ningún tipo de trabajo, porque es el día del Perdón, cuando se hace expiación por vosotros ante el Señor vuestro Dios. 29Cualquiera que no observe el ayuno será eliminado de su pueblo. 30Si alguien hace algún trabajo en ese día, yo mismo lo eliminaré de su pueblo. 31Por tanto, no haréis ningún trabajo. Este será un estatuto perpetuo para todos vuestros descendientes, dondequiera que habiten. 32Será para vosotros un sábado de solemne reposo, y deberéis observar el ayuno. Este sábado lo observaréis desde la tarde del día nueve del mes hasta la tarde siguiente».
Fiesta de las Enramadas
23:33-43 – Nm 29:12-39; Dt 16:13-17
33El Señor le ordenó a Moisés 34que les dijera a los israelitas: «El día quince del mes séptimo comienza la fiesta de las Enramadas en honor al Señor, la cual durará siete días. 35El primer día se celebrará una fiesta solemne en honor al Señor. Ese día no haréis ningún trabajo. 36Durante siete días le presentaréis al Señor ofrendas por fuego. Al octavo día celebraréis una fiesta solemne en honor al Señor y volveréis a presentarle ofrendas por fuego. Es una fiesta solemne; ese día no haréis ningún trabajo.
37»Estas son las fiestas que el Señor ha establecido, y a las que vosotros habréis de convocar como fiestas solemnes en su honor, para presentarle ofrendas por fuego, holocaustos, ofrendas de cereal, y sacrificios y ofrendas de libación, tal como está prescrito para cada día. 38Todas estas fiestas son adicionales a los sábados del Señor y a los tributos y ofrendas votivas o voluntarias que vosotros le presentéis.
39»A partir del día quince del mes séptimo, después de que hayáis recogido los frutos de la tierra, celebraréis durante siete días la fiesta del Señor. El primer día y el octavo serán de descanso especial. 40El primer día tomaréis frutos de los mejores árboles, ramas de palmera, de árboles frondosos y de sauces de los arroyos, y durante siete días os regocijaréis en presencia del Señor vuestro Dios. 41Cada año, durante siete días, celebraréis esta fiesta en honor al Señor. La celebraréis en el mes séptimo. Este será un estatuto perpetuo para las generaciones venideras. 42Durante siete días viviréis bajo enramadas. Todos los israelitas nativos vivirán bajo enramadas, 43para que vuestros descendientes sepan que yo hice vivir así a los israelitas cuando los saqué de Egipto. Yo soy el Señor vuestro Dios».
44Así anunció Moisés a los israelitas las fiestas establecidas por el Señor.
