Purification After Childbirth
1The Lord said to Moses, 2“Say to the Israelites: ‘A woman who becomes pregnant and gives birth to a son will be ceremonially unclean for seven days, just as she is unclean during her monthly period. 3On the eighth day the boy is to be circumcised. 4Then the woman must wait thirty-three days to be purified from her bleeding. She must not touch anything sacred or go to the sanctuary until the days of her purification are over. 5If she gives birth to a daughter, for two weeks the woman will be unclean, as during her period. Then she must wait sixty-six days to be purified from her bleeding.
6“ ‘When the days of her purification for a son or daughter are over, she is to bring to the priest at the entrance to the tent of meeting a year-old lamb for a burnt offering and a young pigeon or a dove for a sin offering.12:6 Or purification offering; also in verse 8 7He shall offer them before the Lord to make atonement for her, and then she will be ceremonially clean from her flow of blood.
“ ‘These are the regulations for the woman who gives birth to a boy or a girl. 8But if she cannot afford a lamb, she is to bring two doves or two young pigeons, one for a burnt offering and the other for a sin offering. In this way the priest will make atonement for her, and she will be clean.’ ”
Reglementarea curăției în lăuzie
1Domnul i‑a vorbit lui Moise, zicând: 2„Vorbește‑le fiilor lui Israel și spune‑le: «Când o femeie rămâne însărcinată și naște un băiat, va fi considerată necurată timp de șapte zile. Va fi necurată, precum în zilele necurăției ei. 3În cea de‑a opta zi băiatul să fie circumcis. 4Femeia va mai rămâne încă treizeci și trei de zile, ca să se curățească de sângele ei. Să nu atingă vreun lucru sfânt și să nu vină în Sfântul Lăcaș până nu se împlinesc zilele curățirii ei. 5Dacă naște o fată, femeia va fi considerată necurată timp de două săptămâni, precum în zilele necurăției ei. Ea va mai rămâne încă șaizeci și șase de zile, ca să se curățească de sângele ei.
6Când se vor împlini zilele curățirii ei, pentru un băiat sau pentru o fată, să aducă preotului, la intrarea în Cortul Întâlnirii, un miel de un an pentru arderea‑de‑tot și un pui de porumbel sau o turturea ca jertfă pentru păcat. 7Preotul să‑l jertfească înaintea Domnului și să facă ispășire pentru ea. Și astfel ea va fi curățită de curgerea sângelui ei.
Aceasta este legea pentru femeia care va da naștere unui băiat sau unei fete. 8Dacă nu poate aduce un miel, să aducă două turturele sau doi pui de porumbel ca jertfă pentru păcat, iar preotul să facă ispășire pentru ea; astfel ea va fi curată.»“
