The Altar of Burnt Offering
1“Build an altar of acacia wood, three cubits27:1 That is, about 4 1/2 feet or about 1.4 meters high; it is to be square, five cubits long and five cubits wide.27:1 That is, about 7 1/2 feet or about 2.3 meters long and wide 2Make a horn at each of the four corners, so that the horns and the altar are of one piece, and overlay the altar with bronze. 3Make all its utensils of bronze—its pots to remove the ashes, and its shovels, sprinkling bowls, meat forks and firepans. 4Make a grating for it, a bronze network, and make a bronze ring at each of the four corners of the network. 5Put it under the ledge of the altar so that it is halfway up the altar. 6Make poles of acacia wood for the altar and overlay them with bronze. 7The poles are to be inserted into the rings so they will be on two sides of the altar when it is carried. 8Make the altar hollow, out of boards. It is to be made just as you were shown on the mountain.
The Courtyard
9“Make a courtyard for the tabernacle. The south side shall be a hundred cubits27:9 That is, about 150 feet or about 45 meters; also in verse 11 long and is to have curtains of finely twisted linen, 10with twenty posts and twenty bronze bases and with silver hooks and bands on the posts. 11The north side shall also be a hundred cubits long and is to have curtains, with twenty posts and twenty bronze bases and with silver hooks and bands on the posts.
12“The west end of the courtyard shall be fifty cubits27:12 That is, about 75 feet or about 23 meters; also in verse 13 wide and have curtains, with ten posts and ten bases. 13On the east end, toward the sunrise, the courtyard shall also be fifty cubits wide. 14Curtains fifteen cubits27:14 That is, about 23 feet or about 6.8 meters; also in verse 15 long are to be on one side of the entrance, with three posts and three bases, 15and curtains fifteen cubits long are to be on the other side, with three posts and three bases.
16“For the entrance to the courtyard, provide a curtain twenty cubits27:16 That is, about 30 feet or about 9 meters long, of blue, purple and scarlet yarn and finely twisted linen—the work of an embroiderer—with four posts and four bases. 17All the posts around the courtyard are to have silver bands and hooks, and bronze bases. 18The courtyard shall be a hundred cubits long and fifty cubits wide,27:18 That is, about 150 feet long and 75 feet wide or about 45 meters long and 23 meters wide with curtains of finely twisted linen five cubits27:18 That is, about 7 1/2 feet or about 2.3 meters high, and with bronze bases. 19All the other articles used in the service of the tabernacle, whatever their function, including all the tent pegs for it and those for the courtyard, are to be of bronze.
Oil for the Lampstand
20“Command the Israelites to bring you clear oil of pressed olives for the light so that the lamps may be kept burning. 21In the tent of meeting, outside the curtain that shields the ark of the covenant law, Aaron and his sons are to keep the lamps burning before the Lord from evening till morning. This is to be a lasting ordinance among the Israelites for the generations to come.
Altaret
(2 Mos 38:1-7)
1Du ska också göra ett fyrkantigt altare av akacieträ, 2,5 meter i kvadrat och 1,5 meter högt. 2Utforma altaret med horn i de fyra hörnen och drag över alltsammans med koppar. 3Du ska göra askhinkar, skovlar, skålar, eldgafflar och fyrfat, allesammans av koppar. 4Sedan ska du göra ett galler, ett kopparnät med en ring i varje hörn 5och sätta gallret nertill, så att nätet når upp till mitten av altaret. 6Gör bärstänger av akacieträ, överdragna med koppar, 7som du skjuter in i ringarna på sidorna av altaret, så att man kan bära det. 8Altaret måste vara öppet inuti, gjort av plankor, och det ska göras precis som du fick se på berget.
Förgården
(2 Mos 38:9-20)
9Du ska göra en förgård till boningen. På södra sidan ska det vara förhängen av tvinnat fint lingarn, och de ska vara 50 meter långa på den sidan, 10med 20 stolpar och 20 socklar av koppar. Stolparnas krokar och band ska vara av silver. 11På samma sätt ska det vara på den norra sidan, 50 meter långa förhängen med 20 stolpar och 20 socklar av koppar och med krokar och band av silver.
12Västra sidan av förgården ska ha förhängen som är 25 meter långa med tio stolpar och tio socklar. 13Östra sidan ska också vara 25 meter. 14Förhängena ska vara sju och en halv meter åt ena hållet med tre stolpar och tre socklar, 15likaså åt andra hållet med tre stolpar och tre socklar.
16Ingången till förgården ska ha ett förhänge som är 10 meter långt och gjort av brokigt tyg med blått, purpurrött, karmosinrött och tvinnat fint lingarn, fäst vid fyra stolpar på fyra socklar. 17Alla stolparna runt förgården ska vara försedda med band och krokar av silver och socklar av koppar. 18Förgården ska vara 50 meter lång och 25 meter bred med ett 2,5 meter högt förhänge av tvinnat fint lingarn. Socklarna ska vara av koppar.
19Alla tillbehör för tjänsten i boningen och alla pluggar där och till förgården ska göras av koppar.
Oljan till lampstället
(3 Mos 24:1-4)
20Säg till Israels folk att skaffa fram ren olja av pressade oliver till lampstället, så att lamporna ständigt kan brinna. 21I uppenbarelsetältet, utanför förhänget som hänger framför förbundstecknet, ska Aron och hans söner sköta om dem varje kväll och morgon så att de brinner natten igenom inför Herren. Detta är en bestående stadga som ska gälla för Israel generation efter generation.
