For the director of music. A maskil of the Sons of Korah. A wedding song to the tune of “Lilies.”
1My heart is full of beautiful words
as I say my poem for the king.
My tongue is like the pen of a skillful writer.
2You are the most excellent of men.
Your lips have been given the ability to speak gracious words.
God has blessed you forever.
3Mighty one, put your sword at your side.
Put on glory and majesty as if they were your clothes.
4In your majesty ride out with power
to fight for what is true, humble and fair.
Let your right hand do wonderful things.
5Shoot your sharp arrows into the hearts of your enemies.
Let the nations come under your control.
6Your throne is the very throne of God.
Your kingdom will last for ever and ever.
You will rule by treating everyone fairly.
7You love what is right and hate what is evil.
So your God has placed you above your companions.
He has filled you with joy by pouring the sacred oil on your head.
8Myrrh and aloes and cassia make all your robes smell good.
In palaces decorated with ivory
the music played on stringed instruments makes you glad.
9Daughters of kings are among the women you honor.
At your right hand is the royal bride dressed in gold from Ophir.
10Royal bride, listen and pay careful attention.
Forget about your people and the home you came from.
11Let the king be charmed by your beauty.
Honor him. He is now your master.
12The people of Tyre will come with gifts.
Wealthy people will try to gain your favor.
13In her room, the princess looks glorious.
Her gown has gold threads running through it.
14Dressed in beautiful clothes, she is led to the king.
Her virgin companions follow her.
They have been brought to be with her.
15They are led in with joy and gladness.
They enter the palace of the king.
16Your sons will rule just as your father and grandfather did.
You will make them princes through the whole land.
17I will make sure that people will always remember you.
The nations will praise you for ever and ever.

Cântico didático dos descendentes de Coré. Segundo a melodia “Os lírios”. Cântico de amor. Para o diretor do coro.
1O meu coração transborda de boas intenções.
Escrevi um belo poema para o rei;
vou expressar-me como faria o mais hábil escritor.
2Tu és o mais belo de todos!
As tuas palavras estão cheias de beleza;
Deus te abençoa para sempre.
3Arma-te, ó valente,
com as armas da tua glória e da tua majestade!
4E nesse esplendor avança para a vitória,
defendendo a verdade, a paz e a justiça.
A tua capacidade te levará a realizações assombrosas.
5Ferirás certeiramente o coração dos teus inimigos
e assim subjugarás povos inteiros.
6O teu trono, ó Deus, dura para sempre;
a justiça é aquilo que faz a força do teu reino.
7Tu amas a justiça e aborreces o mal.
Por isso Deus, o teu Deus, derramou sobre ti
mais óleo de alegria do que sobre os teus companheiros.
8As tuas vestes são perfumadas com mirra, aloés e cássia;
nos teus palácios, belamente decorados de marfim,
toca-se música para teu prazer.
9Entre as mulheres ilustres da tua corte estão filhas de reis;
ao teu lado está a rainha,
com as suas joias do mais puro ouro de Ofir.
10Ouve, minha filha, com atenção,
não lamentes a família e a pátria distante que deixaste.
11O rei ficará preso à tua formosura;
reverencia-o, pois é o teu senhor.
12O povo de Tiro virá oferecer-te abundantes presentes;
os seus nobres mais ricos suplicarão favores da tua parte.
13A noiva é uma princesa que espera nos seus aposentos,
vestida de roupas tecidas com ouro.
14Será depois conduzida até ao rei,
encantadora nos seus vestidos de ricos bordados,
acompanhada das donzelas em cortejo de honra.
15No meio de alegria e prazer,
assim entrarão no palácio do rei.
16No lugar dos teus pais
estarão os teus filhos, que tu designarás
como chefes de todo o país.
17Eu farei com que o teu nome seja comemorado,
por todas as gerações,
e as nações da Terra te louvarão para sempre.
