Psalm 13 – NIRV & NIVUK

New International Reader’s Version

Psalm 13:1-6

Psalm 13

For the director of music. A psalm of David.

1Lord, how long must I wait? Will you forget me forever?

How long will you turn your face away from me?

2How long must I struggle with my thoughts?

How long must my heart be sad day after day?

How long will my enemies keep winning the battle over me?

3Lord my God, look at me and answer me.

Give me new life, or I will die.

4Then my enemies will say, “We have beaten him.”

They will be filled with joy when I die.

5But I trust in your faithful love.

My heart is filled with joy because you will save me.

6I will sing praise to the Lord.

He has been so good to me.

For the director of music. A psalm of David.

1How long, Lord? Will you forget me for ever?

How long will you hide your face from me?

2How long must I wrestle with my thoughts

and day after day have sorrow in my heart?

How long will my enemy triumph over me?

3Look on me and answer, Lord my God.

Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death,

4and my enemy will say, ‘I have overcome him,’

and my foes will rejoice when I fall.

5But I trust in your unfailing love;

my heart rejoices in your salvation.

6I will sing the Lord’s praise,

for he has been good to me.
