Psalm 105
1Give praise to the Lord and announce who he is.
Tell the nations what he has done.
2Sing to him, sing praise to him.
Tell about all the wonderful things he has done.
3Praise him, because his name is holy.
Let the hearts of those who trust in the Lord be glad.
4Seek the Lord and the strength he gives.
Always seek him.
5Remember the wonderful things he has done.
Remember his miracles and how he judged our enemies.
6Remember what he has done, you children of his servant Abraham.
Remember it, you people of Jacob, God’s chosen ones.
7He is the Lord our God.
He judges the whole earth.
8He will keep his covenant forever.
He will keep his promise for all time to come.
9He will keep the covenant he made with Abraham.
He will keep the promise he made to Isaac.
10He made it stand as a law for Jacob.
He made it stand as a covenant for Israel that will last forever.
11He said, “I will give you the land of Canaan.
It will belong to you.”
12At first there weren’t very many of God’s people.
There were only a few, and they were strangers in the land.
13They wandered from nation to nation.
They wandered from one kingdom to another.
14But God didn’t allow anyone to treat them badly.
To keep them safe, he gave a command to kings.
15He said to them, “Do not touch my anointed ones.
Do not harm my prophets.”
16He made the people in the land go hungry.
He destroyed all their food supplies.
17He sent a man ahead of them into Egypt.
That man was Joseph. He had been sold as a slave.
18The Egyptians put his feet in chains.
They put an iron collar around his neck.
19He was in prison until what he said would happen came true.
The word of the Lord proved that he was right.
20The king of Egypt sent for Joseph and let him out of prison.
The ruler of many nations set him free.
21He put Joseph in charge of his palace.
He made him ruler over everything he owned.
22Joseph was in charge of teaching the princes.
He taught the elders how to think and live wisely.
23Then the rest of Jacob’s family went to Egypt.
The people of Israel lived as outsiders in the land of Ham.
24The Lord gave his people so many children
that there were too many of them for their enemies.
25He made the Egyptians hate his people.
The Egyptians made evil plans against them.
26The Lord sent his servant Moses to the king of Egypt.
He sent Aaron, his chosen one, along with him.
27The Lord gave them the power to do signs among the Egyptians.
They did his wonders in the land of Ham.
28The Lord sent darkness over the land.
He did it because the Egyptians had refused to obey his words.
29He turned their rivers and streams into blood.
He caused the fish in them to die.
30Their land was covered with frogs.
Frogs even went into the bedrooms of the rulers.
31The Lord spoke, and large numbers of flies came.
Gnats filled the whole country.
32He turned their rain into hail.
Lightning flashed all through their land.
33He destroyed their vines and fig trees.
He broke down the trees in Egypt.
34He spoke, and the locusts came.
There were so many of them they couldn’t be counted.
35They ate up every green thing in the land.
They ate up what the land produced.
36Then he killed the oldest son of every family in Egypt.
He struck down the oldest of all their sons.
37He brought the people of Israel out of Egypt.
The Egyptians loaded them down with silver and gold.
From among the tribes of Israel no one got tired or fell down.
38The Egyptians were glad when the people of Israel left.
They were terrified because of Israel.
39The Lord spread out a cloud to cover his people.
He gave them a fire to light up the night.
40They asked for meat, and he brought them quail.
He fed them well with manna, the bread of heaven.
41He broke open a rock, and streams of water poured out.
They flowed like a river in the desert.
42He remembered the holy promise
he had made to his servant Abraham.
43His chosen people shouted for joy
as he brought them out of Egypt.
44He gave them the lands of other nations.
He let them take over what others had worked for.
45He did it so they might obey his rules
and follow his laws.
Praise the Lord.
Salmo 105
105:1-15 – 1Cr 16:8-22
1Den gracias al Señor; proclamen su nombre.
¡Den a conocer sus obras entre las naciones!
2¡Cántenle, entónenle salmos!
¡Hablen de todas sus maravillas!
3¡Gloríense en su santo nombre!
¡Alégrese el corazón de los que buscan al Señor!
4¡Busquen al Señor y su fuerza;
anhelen siempre su rostro!
5¡Recuerden las maravillas que ha hecho,
las señales y las leyes que ha emitido!
6¡Ustedes, descendientes de Abraham, su siervo!
¡Ustedes, hijos de Jacob, elegidos suyos!
7Él es el Señor nuestro Dios;
en toda la tierra están sus leyes.
8Se acordó siempre de su pacto,
la palabra que ordenó para mil generaciones;
9del pacto que hizo con Abraham
y del juramento que hizo a Isaac.
10Se lo confirmó a Jacob como un estatuto,
a Israel como un pacto eterno,
11cuando dijo: «Te daré la tierra de Canaán
como la herencia que te corresponde».
12Aun cuando eran pocos en número,
unos cuantos extranjeros en la tierra,
13que andaban siempre de nación en nación
y de reino en reino,
14a nadie permitió que los oprimiera,
sino que por causa de ellos reprendió a los reyes:
15«¡No toquen a mis ungidos!
¡No maltraten a mis profetas!».
16Dios provocó hambre en la tierra
al hacer escasear el alimento.105:16 escasear el alimento. Lit. todo bastón de pan.
17Pero envió delante de ellos a un hombre:
a José, vendido como esclavo.
18Le sujetaron los pies con grilletes,
entre hierros aprisionaron su cuello,
19hasta que se cumplió lo que él predijo
y la palabra del Señor probó que él era veraz.
20El rey ordenó ponerlo en libertad;
el gobernante de los pueblos lo dejó libre.
21Lo nombró señor sobre su casa
y administrador de todas sus posesiones,
22con pleno poder para instruir105:22 instruir (LXX, Siríaca y Vulgata); atar (TM). a sus príncipes
e impartir sabiduría a sus jefes.
23Entonces Israel vino a Egipto;
Jacob fue extranjero en el país de Cam.
24El Señor hizo que su pueblo se multiplicara;
lo hizo más poderoso que sus adversarios,
25a quienes les cambió su sentir para que odiaran a su pueblo
y se confabularan contra sus siervos.
26Envió a su siervo Moisés,
y a Aarón, a quien había escogido,
27y estos hicieron señales milagrosas entre ellos,
maravillas en el país de Cam.
28Envió tinieblas y la tierra se oscureció,
pero ellos se rebelaron105:28 se rebelaron (LXX y Siríaca); no se rebelaron (TM). contra sus palabras.
29Convirtió en sangre sus aguas
y causó la muerte de sus peces.
30Todo Egipto105:30 Todo Egipto. Lit. La tierra de ellos. se infestó de ranas,
hasta las habitaciones de sus reyes.
31Habló Dios e invadieron todo el país
enjambres de tábanos y mosquitos.
32Convirtió la lluvia en granizo
y lanzó rayos sobre su tierra;
33derribó sus vides y sus higueras,
y destrozó los árboles de su territorio.
34Dio una orden y llegaron las langostas
y una infinidad de saltamontes.
35Arrasaron con toda la vegetación del país,
devoraron los frutos de sus campos.
36Hirió de muerte a todos los primogénitos del país,
las primicias de su virilidad.
37Sacó a los israelitas cargados de plata y oro
y no hubo entre sus tribus nadie que tropezara.
38Los egipcios se alegraron de su partida,
pues el miedo a los israelitas los dominaba.
39Él los cubrió con una nube
y con fuego los alumbró de noche.
40Pidió el pueblo comida y les envió codornices;
los sació con pan del cielo.
41Abrió la roca y brotó agua
que corrió por el desierto como un río.
42Se acordó Dios de su santa promesa,
la que hizo a su siervo Abraham.
43Sacó a su pueblo, a sus escogidos,
en medio de gran alegría y de gritos jubilosos.
44Les entregó las tierras que poseían las naciones;
heredaron el fruto del trabajo de otros pueblos
45para que ellos observaran sus estatutos
y pusieran en práctica sus leyes.
