Psalm 104
1I will praise the Lord.
Lord my God, you are very great.
You are dressed in glory and majesty.
2The Lord wraps himself in light as if it were a robe.
He spreads out the heavens like a tent.
3He builds his palace high in the heavens.
He makes the clouds serve as his chariot.
He rides on the wings of the wind.
4He makes the winds serve as his messengers.
He makes flashes of lightning serve him.
5He placed the earth on its foundations.
It can never be moved.
6You, Lord, covered it with the oceans like a blanket.
The waters covered the mountains.
7But you commanded the waters, and they ran away.
At the sound of your thunder they rushed off.
8They flowed down the mountains.
They went into the valleys.
They went to the place you appointed for them.
9You drew a line they can’t cross.
They will never cover the earth again.
10The Lord makes springs pour water into the valleys.
It flows between the mountains.
11The springs give water to all the wild animals.
The wild donkeys satisfy their thirst.
12The birds in the sky build nests by the waters.
They sing among the branches.
13The Lord waters the mountains from his palace high in the clouds.
The earth is filled with the things he has made.
14He makes grass grow for the cattle
and plants for people to take care of.
That’s how they get food from the earth.
15There is wine to make people glad.
There is olive oil to make their skin glow.
And there is bread to make them strong.
16The cedar trees of Lebanon belong to the Lord.
He planted them and gave them plenty of water.
17There the birds make their nests.
The stork has its home in the juniper trees.
18The high mountains belong to the wild goats.
The cliffs are a safe place for the rock badgers.
19The Lord made the moon to mark off the seasons.
The sun knows when to go down.
20You, Lord, bring darkness, and it becomes night.
Then all the animals of the forest prowl around.
21The lions roar while they hunt.
All their food comes from God.
22The sun rises, and they slip away.
They return to their dens and lie down.
23Then people get up and go to work.
They keep working until evening.
24Lord, you have made so many things!
How wise you were when you made all of them!
The earth is full of your creatures.
25Look at the ocean, so big and wide!
It is filled with more creatures than people can count.
It is filled with living things, from the largest to the smallest.
26Ships sail back and forth on it.
Leviathan, the sea monster you made, plays in it.
27All creatures depend on you
to give them their food when they need it.
28When you give it to them,
they eat it.
When you open your hand,
they are satisfied with good things.
29When you turn your face away from them,
they are terrified.
When you take away their breath,
they die and turn back into dust.
30When you send your Spirit,
you create them.
You give new life to the ground.
31May the glory of the Lord continue forever.
May the Lord be happy with what he has made.
32When he looks at the earth, it trembles.
When he touches the mountains, they pour out smoke.
33I will sing to the Lord all my life.
I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.
34May these thoughts of mine please him.
I find my joy in the Lord.
35But may sinners be gone from the earth.
May evil people disappear.
I will praise the Lord.

1Славьте Вечного, призывайте Его имя,
возвещайте народам о Его делах.
2Воспойте Ему, пойте Ему хвалу,
рассказывайте о всех Его чудесах.
3Хвалитесь Его святым именем;
пусть веселятся сердца ищущих Вечного.
4Ищите Вечного и силу Его,
всегда ищите Его лица.
5Помните чудеса, которые Он сотворил,
знамения Его и суды, что Он произнёс,
6о потомки Ибрахима, раба Его,
о сыны Якуба, избранные Его!
7Он – Вечный, наш Бог,
суды Его по всей земле.
8Он помнит вечно Своё соглашение –
слово, данное Им для тысяч поколений, –
9соглашение, заключённое Им с Ибрахимом,
помнит клятву, данную Исхаку.
10Он поставил его Якубу законом,
Исраилу – вечным соглашением,
11сказав: «Я отдам тебе Ханаанскую землю
в удел твоего наследия»104:9-11 См. Нач. 15:18-21; 26:3-4; 28:13-14..
12Когда они были малочисленны и незначительны
и были чужеземцами на этой земле,
13то скитались от народа к народу
и из царства в царство.
14Он никому не давал их притеснять
и укорял за них даже царей,
15говоря: «Не трогайте помазанников Моих
и пророкам Моим не делайте зла»104:12-15 См. Нач. 12:10-20; 20..
16Он послал голод на землю,
уничтожил все запасы пищи.
17Он послал перед ними человека:
в рабство был продан Юсуф.
18Стеснили оковами его ноги,
надели на шею железное ярмо,
19пока не исполнилось его предсказание,
пока слово Вечного не доказало его правоту.
20Царь приказал, и развязали его,
владыка народов освободил его.
21Он сделал его господином над своим домом
и правителем над всем своим владением,
22чтобы он наставлял104:22 Или: «удерживал в известных пределах». его приближённых
и старейшин его учил мудрости104:16-22 См. Нач. 37; 39–41..
23Тогда пришёл Исраил в Египет,
и жил Якуб в земле Хама104:23 То есть в Египте. Египтяне были потомками Хама (см. Нач. 10:6-10). как чужеземец.
24И умножил Аллах Свой народ
и сделал его сильнее его врагов.
25Возбудил в сердцах их ненависть к Его народу
и хитрость против Его рабов104:23-25 См. Исх. 1:1-14..
26Он послал Мусу, Своего раба,
и Харуна, которого избрал.
27Они показали среди них Его чудеса
и Его знамения – в земле Хама.
28Он послал тьму, и стало темно,
и они не воспротивились Его слову.
29Он обратил воды Египта в кровь
и погубил в них рыбу.
30Земля их закишела множеством жаб,
которые вошли даже в покои царей.
31Он произнёс слово, и налетели тучи мух,
и комары заполонили все их земли.
32Он послал на них град вместо дождя
и пылающий огонь – на их землю.
33Побил их виноград и инжир,
поломал деревья в их земле.
34Сказал, и пришла саранча,
целые тучи без числа,
35и съели всю траву в их земле
и плоды на их полях.
36Затем Он поразил всех первенцев в их земле –
первые плоды их мужской силы104:26-36 См. Исх. 3; 4; 7–12..
37Он вывел Исраил с серебром и золотом,
и не было ни одного среди родов, кто бы споткнулся.
38Египет обрадовался их уходу,
потому что устрашился их104:37-38 См. Исх. 12:35-36..
39Аллах простёр облако, чтобы укрыть их,
и огонь, чтобы светить ночью104:39 См. Исх. 13:21-22..
40Народ попросил, и Он послал перепелов,
и насытил людей хлебом с небес104:40 См. Исх. 16..
41Рассёк скалу, и полились воды,
рекой потекли в пустыне104:41 См. Исх. 17:1-7..
42Ведь Он вспомнил Своё святое обещание
Ибрахиму, рабу Своему104:42 См. Нач. 12:1-3; 15; 17..
43Он вывел Свой народ в радости,
избранных Своих в веселии.
44Дал им земли народов,
и они унаследовали то, над чем трудились другие,
45Он сделал это, чтобы они соблюдали Его установления
и хранили Его законы.
