16:1 Ezr 4:15; 5:17Katika mwaka wa 480 baada ya Waisraeli kutoka nchi ya Misri, katika mwaka wa nne wa utawala wa Solomoni katika Israeli, katika mwezi wa Zivu, ambao ndio mwezi wa pili, alianza kujenga Hekalu la Bwana.

Kuzunguka ukuta wa nje wa Hekalu akapunguza ukuta pande zote ili boriti zisishikane kwenye kuta za Hekalu.
7Katika kujenga Hekalu, yalitumika tu mawe yaliyochongwa huko machimboni, wala hakuna nyundo, patasi au chombo kingine chochote cha chuma kilichosikika sauti yake katika eneo la ujenzi wa Hekalu wakati lilipokuwa likijengwa.
86:8 1Sam 9:10Ingilio la ghorofa ya chini kabisa lilikuwa upande wa kusini wa Hekalu, ngazi ilielekea ghorofa ya kati na kutokea hapo ilielekea hadi ghorofa ya tatu. 9Basi Solomoni akajenga Hekalu na kulikamilisha, akiliweka paa za boriti na mbao za mierezi. 106:10 Ezr 7:23; Yer 29:7; Law 1:9; Mwa 8:21; 1Tim 2:1-2Mfalme Solomoni akajenga vyumba vya pembeni kuzunguka Hekalu lote. Kimo cha kila kimoja kilikuwa dhiraa tano. Navyo vilikuwa vimeunganishwa na Hekalu kwa boriti za mierezi.

Pia akafunika madhabahu yale yaliyokuwa ndani ya Patakatifu pa Patakatifu kwa dhahabu.
23Katika Patakatifu pa Patakatifu akatengeneza makerubi wawili kwa mzeituni, kila moja likiwa na dhiraa kumi6:23 Dhiraa 10 ni sawa na mita 4.5. kwenda juu. 24Bawa moja la kerubi wa kwanza lilikuwa na urefu wa dhiraa tano na bawa jingine dhiraa tano, hivyo urefu kutoka ncha ya bawa moja hadi ncha ya bawa jingine ulikuwa dhiraa kumi. 25Kerubi wa pili alikuwa na urefu wa dhiraa kumi pia, hivyo makerubi hao wawili walifanana kwa vipimo na kwa umbo. 26Kimo cha kila kerubi kilikuwa dhiraa kumi. 27Aliwaweka makerubi hao ndani ya Patakatifu pa Patakatifu pa Hekalu, mabawa yake yakiwa yamekunjuliwa. Bawa la kerubi mmoja liligusa ukuta mmoja, wakati bawa la yule mwingine liligusa ukuta mwingine, nayo mabawa yao mengine yaligusana katikati ya chumba. 28Akafunika wale makerubi kwa dhahabu.
29Juu ya kuta zote zilizozunguka Hekalu, za vyumba vya ndani na vya nje, zilipambwa kwa nakshi zilizokatwa za makerubi, miti ya mitende na maua yaliyochanua. 30Pia alifunika sakafu zote za vyumba vya ndani na vya nje vya Hekalu kwa dhahabu.
31Kwa ingilio la Patakatifu pa Patakatifu akatengeneza milango ya mbao za mzeituni, zikiwa na miimo na vizingiti vyenye umbo la pembe tano. 32Juu ya milango miwili ya mbao za mzeituni alinakshi makerubi, miti ya mitende pamoja na maua yaliyochanua na kufunika makerubi na miti ya mitende kwa dhahabu iliyofuliwa. 33Kwa njia iyo hiyo akatengeneza miimo yenye pande nne ya miti ya mizeituni, kwa ajili ya ingilio la ukumbi mkubwa. 34Kulikuwa na milango miwili iliyoweza kukunjuka iliyotengenezwa kwa mbao za msunobari na kila mmoja ulikuwa na bawaba ambazo zingeuwezesha kujikunja kila kipande juu ya kingine. 35Akanakshi makerubi, miti ya mitende na maua yaliyochanua juu yake na kufunika kwa dhahabu iliyonyooshwa vizuri juu ya michoro.
36Tena akajenga ua wa ndani safu tatu za mawe yaliyochongwa na safu moja ya boriti za mierezi zilizorembwa.
37Msingi wa Hekalu la Bwana uliwekwa katika mwaka wa nne, katika mwezi wa Zivu, ndio mwezi wa tano. 38Katika mwaka wa kumi na moja, mwezi wa Buli, ndio mwezi wa nane, Hekalu lilikamilika katika hatua zake zote kwa kufuatana na maelekezo yake Solomoni. Alilijenga kwa miaka saba.
1And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon’s reign over Israel, in the month Zif, which is the second month, that he began to build the house of the LORD.6.1 began…: Heb. built 2And the house which king Solomon built for the LORD, the length thereof was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof twenty cubits, and the height thereof thirty cubits. 3And the porch before the temple of the house, twenty cubits was the length thereof, according to the breadth of the house; and ten cubits was the breadth thereof before the house. 4And for the house he made windows of narrow lights.6.4 of…: or, broad within, and narrow without: or, skewed and closed
5¶ And against the wall of the house he built chambers round about, against the walls of the house round about, both of the temple and of the oracle: and he made chambers round about:6.5 against the wall: or, upon, or, joining to the wall6.5 built chambers: Heb. built floors6.5 made chambers: Heb. made ribs 6The nethermost chamber was five cubits broad, and the middle was six cubits broad, and the third was seven cubits broad: for without in the wall of the house he made narrowed rests round about, that the beams should not be fastened in the walls of the house.6.6 narrowed…: Heb. narrowings, or, rebatements 7And the house, when it was in building, was built of stone made ready before it was brought thither: so that there was neither hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron heard in the house, while it was in building. 8The door for the middle chamber was in the right side of the house: and they went up with winding stairs into the middle chamber, and out of the middle into the third.6.8 side: Heb. shoulder 9So he built the house, and finished it; and covered the house with beams and boards of cedar.6.9 with…: or, the vaultbeams and the panellings with cedar 10And then he built chambers against all the house, five cubits high: and they rested on the house with timber of cedar.
11¶ And the word of the LORD came to Solomon, saying, 12Concerning this house which thou art in building, if thou wilt walk in my statutes, and execute my judgments, and keep all my commandments to walk in them; then will I perform my word with thee, which I spake unto David thy father: 13And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will not forsake my people Israel. 14So Solomon built the house, and finished it.
15And he built the walls of the house within with boards of cedar, both the floor of the house, and the walls of the cieling: and he covered them on the inside with wood, and covered the floor of the house with planks of fir.6.15 both…: or, from the floor of the house unto the walls, etc 16And he built twenty cubits on the sides of the house, both the floor and the walls with boards of cedar: he even built them for it within, even for the oracle, even for the most holy place. 17And the house, that is, the temple before it, was forty cubits long. 18And the cedar of the house within was carved with knops and open flowers: all was cedar; there was no stone seen.6.18 knops: or, gourds6.18 open: Heb. openings of 19And the oracle he prepared in the house within, to set there the ark of the covenant of the LORD. 20And the oracle in the forepart was twenty cubits in length, and twenty cubits in breadth, and twenty cubits in the height thereof: and he overlaid it with pure gold; and so covered the altar which was of cedar.6.20 pure: Heb. shut up 21So Solomon overlaid the house within with pure gold: and he made a partition by the chains of gold before the oracle; and he overlaid it with gold. 22And the whole house he overlaid with gold, until he had finished all the house: also the whole altar that was by the oracle he overlaid with gold.
23¶ And within the oracle he made two cherubims of olive tree, each ten cubits high.6.23 olive: or, oily: Heb. trees of oil 24And five cubits was the one wing of the cherub, and five cubits the other wing of the cherub: from the uttermost part of the one wing unto the uttermost part of the other were ten cubits. 25And the other cherub was ten cubits: both the cherubims were of one measure and one size. 26The height of the one cherub was ten cubits, and so was it of the other cherub. 27And he set the cherubims within the inner house: and they stretched forth the wings of the cherubims, so that the wing of the one touched the one wall, and the wing of the other cherub touched the other wall; and their wings touched one another in the midst of the house.6.27 they…: or, the cherubims stretched forth their wings 28And he overlaid the cherubims with gold. 29And he carved all the walls of the house round about with carved figures of cherubims and palm trees and open flowers, within and without.6.29 open flowers: Heb. openings of flowers 30And the floor of the house he overlaid with gold, within and without.

36¶ And he built the inner court with three rows of hewed stone, and a row of cedar beams.
37¶ In the fourth year was the foundation of the house of the LORD laid, in the month Zif: 38And in the eleventh year, in the month Bul, which is the eighth month, was the house finished throughout all the parts thereof, and according to all the fashion of it.
