ያዕቆብ ወደ ግብፅ ሄደ
1እስራኤልም ጓዙን ሁሉ ጠቅልሎ ተነሣ፤ ቤርሳቤህም ሲደርስ፣ ለአባቱ ለይስሐቅ አምላክ (ኤሎሂም) መሥዋዕት ሠዋ።
2እግዚአብሔርም (ኤሎሂም) ሌሊት በራእይ ለእስራኤል ተገልጦ “ያዕቆብ ያዕቆብ” ብሎ ጠራው። እርሱም፣ “እነሆ፤ አለሁ” አለ። 3እግዚአብሔርም እንዲህ አለው፤ “እኔ የአባትህ አምላክ እግዚአብሔር (ኤሎሂም) ነኝ፤ ወደ ግብፅ ለመውረድ አትፍራ፤ በዚያ ታላቅ ሕዝብ አደርግሃለሁና፤ 4አብሬህ ወደ ግብፅ እወርዳለሁ፤ ከዚያም መልሼ አወጣሃለሁ፤ የዮሴፍ የራሱ እጆችም ዐይኖችህን ይገጥሟቸዋል።”
5ከዚህ በኋላ ያዕቆብ ከቤርሳቤህ ተነሣ፤ የእስራኤል ወንዶች ልጆችም አባታቸውን ያዕቆብን፣ ልጆቻቸውንና ሚስቶቻቸውን ፈርዖን ለያዕቆብ በላካቸው ሠረገላዎች ላይ አወጧቸው። 6ከብቶቻቸውንና በከነዓን ምድር ያፈሩትን ሀብት ንብረታቸውን ይዘው፣ ያዕቆብና ዘሮቹ በሙሉ ወደ ግብፅ ወረዱ። 7ወደ ግብፅም የወረደው፣ ወንዶች ልጆቹንና ወንዶች የልጅ ልጆቹን፣ ሴቶች ልጆቹንና ሴቶች የልጅ ልጆቹን፣ ማለትም ዘሮቹን ሁሉ ይዞ ነው።
8ወደ ግብፅ የወረዱት የእስራኤል ልጆች፣ ያዕቆብና ዘሮቹ እነዚህ ናቸው፦
የያዕቆብ የበኵር ልጅ ሮቤል።
9የሮቤል ልጆች፦
ሄኖኅ፣ ፈሉሶ፣ አስሮን እና ከርሚ ናቸው።
10የስምዖን ልጆች፦
ይሙኤል፣ ያሚን፣ ኦሃድ፣ ያኪን፣ ጾሐርና ከከነዓናዊቷ ሴት የተወለደው ሳኡል ናቸው።
11የሌዊ ልጆች፦
ጌድሶን፣ ቀዓትና ሜራሪ ናቸው።
12የይሁዳ ልጆች፦
ዔር፣ አውናን፣ ሴሎም፣ ፋሬስ እና ዛራ ናቸው። ነገር ግን ዔርና አውናን በከነዓን ምድር ሞቱ።
13የይሳኮር ልጆች፦
ቶላ፣ ፉዋ፣46፥13 ከኦሪተ ሳምራውያንና ከሱርስቱ ጋር ተመሳሳይ ሲሆን (1ዜና 7፥1 ይመ) የማሶሬቲክ ጽሑፍ ግን ፋቫ ይለዋል። ዮብና ሺምሮን ናቸው፤
14የዛብሎን ልጆች፦
ሴሬድ፣ ኤሎንና ያሕልኤል ናቸው፤
15እነዚህ ወንዶች ልጆች ያዕቆብ በሰሜን ምዕራብ መስጴጦምያ ሳለ፣ ልያ የወለደችለት ናቸው። ሴቷን ዲናን ጨምሮ፣ የወንዶችና የሴቶች ልጆቹ ቍጥር ሠላሳ ሦስት ነው።
16የጋድ ልጆች፦
ጽፎን፣46፥16 ከኦሪተ ሳምራውያንና ከሰብዓ ሊቃናት ጋር ተመሳሳይ ሲሆን (ዘኍ 26፥15 ይመ) የማሶሬቲክ ጽሑፍ ግን ጸሬን ይለዋል። ሐጊ፣ ሹኒ፣ ኤስቦን፣ ዔሪ፣ አሮዲና አርኤሊ ናቸው፤
17የአሴር ልጆች፦
ዪምና፣ የሱዋ፣ የሱዊና በሪዓ ናቸው፤ እኅታቸውም ሤራሕ ናት፤
የበሪዓ ልጆች፦
ሐቤርና መልኪኤል ናቸው፤
18እነዚህ ዐሥራ ስድስት ልጆች ሁሉ፣ ላባ ለልጁ ለልያ ከሰጣት ከዘለፋ ላይ ያዕቆብ የወለዳቸው ናቸው።
19የያዕቆብ ሚስት የራሔል ልጆች፦
ዮሴፍና ብንያም ናቸው፤ 20በግብፅም የሄልዮቱ46፥20 ሆሲዮፖሊስን ያመለክታል። ከተማ ካህን የጶጥፌራ ልጅ አስናት፣ ምናሴንና ኤፍሬምን ለዮሴፍ ወለደችለት።
21የብንያም ልጆች፦
ቤላ፣ ቤኬር፣ አስቤል፣ ጌራ፣ ናዕማን፣ አኪ፣ ሮስ፣ ማንፌን ሑፊምና አርድ ናቸው።
22እነዚህ ዐሥራ አራቱ፣ ራሔል ለያዕቆብ የወለደችለት ልጆችና የልጅ ልጆች ናቸው።
23የዳን ልጅ፦
ሑሺም ነው፤
24የንፍታሌም ልጆች፦
ያሕጽኤል፣ ጉኒ፣ ዬጽርና ሺሌም ናቸው፤
25እነዚህ ሰባቱ ልጆች ሁሉ ላባ ለልጁ ለራሔል ከሰጣት ከባላ ላይ ያዕቆብ የወለዳቸው ናቸው።
26ከያዕቆብ ጋር ወደ ግብፅ የሄዱት የገዛ ዘሮቹ ብዛት ስድሳ ስድስት ሲሆን ይህ ቍጥር ግን የልጆቹን ሚስቶች አይጨምርም። 27ዮሴፍ በግብፅ የወለዳቸውን ሁለት ልጆች46፥27 ከዕብራይስጡ ጋር ተመሳሳይ ሲሆን ሰብዓ ሊቃናት ግን ዘጠኙ ልጆች ይለዋል። ጨምሮ፣ ወደ ግብፅ የወረደው የያዕቆብ ቤተ ሰብ ቍጥር ሰባ46፥27 ከዕብራይስጡ ጋር ተመሳሳይ ሲሆን (ዘፀ 1፥5 እና ማብ ይመ)፣ ሰብዓ ሊቃናት ግን (ሐሥ 7፥14 ይመ) ሰባ አምስት ይለዋል። ነበር።
28ያዕቆብም ወደ ጌሤም ለመሄድ መመሪያን ይቀበል ዘንድ ይሁዳን አስቀድሞ ወደ ዮሴፍ ላከው። እነርሱም ጌሤም ሲደርሱ፣ 29ዮሴፍ ሠረገላውን አዘጋጅቶ፤ አባቱን እስራኤልን ለመቀበል ወደ ጌሤም አመራ።
ዮሴፍ አባቱ ዘንድ እንደ ደረሰ፣ ዐንገቱ ላይ46፥29 ዕብራይስጡ በላዩ ላይ ይለዋል። ተጠምጥሞ ለረጅም ጊዜ አለቀሰ።
30እስራኤልም ዮሴፍን፣ “በሕይወት መኖርህን ስላየሁ፣ ከእንግዲህ ብሞትም አይቈጨኝ” አለው።
31ከዚህ በኋላ ዮሴፍ ወንድሞቹንና የአባቱን ቤተ ሰዎች እንዲህ አላቸው፤ “ወደ ፈርዖን ወጥቼ አናግረዋለሁ፤ እንዲህም እለዋለሁ፣ ‘በከነዓን ምድር የሚኖሩት ወንድሞቼና የአባቴ ቤተ ሰዎች ወደ እኔ መጥተዋል። 32ሰዎቹ ከብት የሚጠብቁ ስለ ሆኑ እረኞች ናቸው፤ ሲመጡም በጎቻቸውን፣ ፍየሎቻቸውንና ከብቶቻቸውን እንዲሁም ያላቸውን ሁሉ ይዘው መጥተዋል።’ 33ፈርዖን አስጠርቷችሁ፣ ‘ሥራችሁ ምንድን ነው?’ ብሎ ቢጠይቃችሁ፣ 34እናንተ፣ ‘እኛ ባሮችህ ሥራችን ከልጅነታችን ጀምሮ ልክ እንደ አባቶቻችን ከብት ማርባት ነው’ ብላችሁ መልሱለት። ከዚያም ግብፃውያን ከብት አርቢዎችን እንደ ጸያፍ ስለሚቈጥሩ፣ በጌሤም ምድር እንድትኖሩ ይፈቅድላችኋል።”
1And Israel took his journey with all that he had, and came to Beer-sheba, and offered sacrifices unto the God of his father Isaac. 2And God spake unto Israel in the visions of the night, and said, Jacob, Jacob. And he said, Here am I. 3And he said, I am God, the God of thy father: fear not to go down into Egypt; for I will there make of thee a great nation: 4I will go down with thee into Egypt; and I will also surely bring thee up again: and Joseph shall put his hand upon thine eyes.
5And Jacob rose up from Beer-sheba: and the sons of Israel carried Jacob their father, and their little ones, and their wives, in the wagons which Pharaoh had sent to carry him. 6And they took their cattle, and their goods, which they had gotten in the land of Canaan, and came into Egypt, Jacob, and all his seed with him: 7His sons, and his sons’ sons with him, his daughters, and his sons’ daughters, and all his seed brought he with him into Egypt.
8¶ And these are the names of the children of Israel, which came into Egypt, Jacob and his sons: Reuben, Jacob’s firstborn. 9And the sons of Reuben; Hanoch, and Phallu, and Hezron, and Carmi.
10¶ And the sons of Simeon; Jemuel, and Jamin, and Ohad, and Jachin, and Zohar, and Shaul the son of a Canaanitish woman.46.10 Jemuel: or, Nemuel46.10 Jachin: or, Jarib46.10 Zohar: or, Zerah
11¶ And the sons of Levi; Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.46.11 Gershon: or, Gershom
12¶ And the sons of Judah; Er, and Onan, and Shelah, and Pharez, and Zerah: but Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan. And the sons of Pharez were Hezron and Hamul.
13¶ And the sons of Issachar; Tola, and Phuvah, and Job, and Shimron.46.13 Phuvah, and Job: or, Puah, and Jashub
14¶ And the sons of Zebulun; Sered, and Elon, and Jahleel. 15These be the sons of Leah, which she bare unto Jacob in Padan-aram, with his daughter Dinah: all the souls of his sons and his daughters were thirty and three.
16¶ And the sons of Gad; Ziphion, and Haggi, Shuni, and Ezbon, Eri, and Arodi, and Areli.46.16 Ziphion: or, Zephon46.16 Ezbon: or, Ozni46.16 Arodi: or, Arod
17¶ And the sons of Asher; Jimnah, and Ishuah, and Isui, and Beriah, and Serah their sister: and the sons of Beriah; Heber, and Malchiel. 18These are the sons of Zilpah, whom Laban gave to Leah his daughter, and these she bare unto Jacob, even sixteen souls. 19The sons of Rachel Jacob’s wife; Joseph, and Benjamin.
20¶ And unto Joseph in the land of Egypt were born Manasseh and Ephraim, which Asenath the daughter of Poti-pherah priest of On bare unto him.46.20 priest: or, prince
21¶ And the sons of Benjamin were Belah, and Becher, and Ashbel, Gera, and Naaman, Ehi, and Rosh, Muppim, and Huppim, and Ard.46.21 Ehi: or, Ahiram46.21 Muppim: or, Shupham or, Shuppim46.21 Huppim: or, Hupham 22These are the sons of Rachel, which were born to Jacob: all the souls were fourteen.
23¶ And the sons of Dan; Hushim.46.23 Hushim: or, Shuham
24¶ And the sons of Naphtali; Jahzeel, and Guni, and Jezer, and Shillem. 25These are the sons of Bilhah, which Laban gave unto Rachel his daughter, and she bare these unto Jacob: all the souls were seven. 26All the souls that came with Jacob into Egypt, which came out of his loins, besides Jacob’s sons’ wives, all the souls were threescore and six;46.26 loins: Heb. thigh 27And the sons of Joseph, which were born him in Egypt, were two souls: all the souls of the house of Jacob, which came into Egypt, were threescore and ten.
28¶ And he sent Judah before him unto Joseph, to direct his face unto Goshen; and they came into the land of Goshen. 29And Joseph made ready his chariot, and went up to meet Israel his father, to Goshen, and presented himself unto him; and he fell on his neck, and wept on his neck a good while. 30And Israel said unto Joseph, Now let me die, since I have seen thy face, because thou art yet alive. 31And Joseph said unto his brethren, and unto his father’s house, I will go up, and shew Pharaoh, and say unto him, My brethren, and my father’s house, which were in the land of Canaan, are come unto me; 32And the men are shepherds, for their trade hath been to feed cattle; and they have brought their flocks, and their herds, and all that they have.46.32 their trade…: Heb. they are men of cattle 33And it shall come to pass, when Pharaoh shall call you, and shall say, What is your occupation? 34That ye shall say, Thy servants’ trade hath been about cattle from our youth even until now, both we, and also our fathers: that ye may dwell in the land of Goshen; for every shepherd is an abomination unto the Egyptians.
