በእስራኤል ላይ የተነገረ ፍርድ
1“እናንተ ካህናት፤ ይህን ስሙ!
እናንት እስራኤላውያን፤ አስተውሉ!
የንጉሥ ቤት ሆይ፤ ስሙ!
ይህ ፍርድ በእናንተ ላይ ነው፤
በምጽጳ ወጥመድ፣
በታቦርም ላይ የተዘረጋ መረብ ሆናችኋልና።
2ዐመፀኞች በግድያ በርትተዋል፤
ሁሉንም እቀጣቸዋለሁ።
3ስለ ኤፍሬም ሁሉን ዐውቃለሁ፤
እስራኤልም ከእኔ የተሰወረች አይደለችም፤
ኤፍሬም፣ አንተ አሁን አመንዝረሃል፤
እስራኤልም ረክሳለች።
4“የሠሩት ሥራ፣ ወደ አምላካቸው እንዲመለሱ
አይፈቅድላቸውም፤
የአመንዝራነት መንፈስ በልባቸው አለ፤
እግዚአብሔርንም አያውቁትም።
5የእስራኤል ትዕቢት በራሷ ላይ ይመሰክራል፤
እስራኤላውያንና ኤፍሬምም በኀጢአታቸው ይሰናከላሉ፤
ይሁዳም ደግሞ አብሯቸው ይሰናከላል።
6እግዚአብሔርን ለመሻት፣
የበግና የፍየል መንጋ እንዲሁም የቀንድ ከብቶቻቸውን ነድተው ሲሄዱ፣
እርሱ ስለ ተለያቸው፣
ሊያገኙት አይችሉም።
7ለእግዚአብሔር ታማኞች አልሆኑም፤
ዲቃሎች ወልደዋልና፤
ስለዚህ የወር መባቻ በዓላቸው፤
እነርሱንና ዕርሻቸውን ያጠፋል።
8“በጊብዓ መለከትን፣
በራማ እንቢልታን ንፉ፤
በቤትአዌን የማስጠንቀቂያ ድምፅ አሰሙ፤
‘ብንያም ሆይ፤ መጡብህ!’ በሉ።
9በቅጣት ቀን፣
ኤፍሬም ባድማ ይሆናል፣
በእስራኤል ነገዶች መካከል፣
በርግጥ የሚሆነውን ዐውጃለሁ።
10የይሁዳ መሪዎች፣
የወሰን ድንጋዮችን እንደሚነቅሉ ሰዎች ናቸው፤
እንደ ጐርፍ ውሃ፣
ቍጣዬን በላያቸው ላይ አፈስሳለሁ።
11ጣዖትን መከተል በመውደዱ፣5፥11 በዕብራይስጡ የዚህ ቃል ትርጕም አይታወቅም።
ኤፍሬም ተጨቍኗል፤
በፍርድም ተረግጧል።
12እኔ ለኤፍሬም እንደ ብል፣
ለይሁዳም ሕዝብ እንደ ነቀዝ ሆኛለሁ።
13“ኤፍሬም ሕመሙን፣
ይሁዳም ቍስሉን ባየ ጊዜ፣
ኤፍሬም ወደ አሦር ሄደ፤
ርዳታ ለመጠየቅ ወደ ታላቁ ንጉሥ መልእክተኛ ላከ፤
እርሱ ግን ሊያድናችሁ፣
ቍስላችሁንም ሊፈውስ አይችልም።
14እኔ ለኤፍሬም እንደ አንበሳ፣
ለይሁዳም እንደ ደቦል አንበሳ እሆናለሁና፤
ሰባብሬና አድቅቄአቸው እሄዳለሁ፤
ነጥቄ እወስዳቸዋለሁ፤ ማንም ሊያድናቸው አይችልም።
15በደላቸውንም እስኪያውቁ ድረስ፣
ወደ ስፍራዬ እመለሳለሁ፤
ፊቴን ይሻሉ፤
በመከራቸውም አጥብቀው
ይፈልጉኛል።”

8Blow ye the cornet in Gibeah, and the trumpet in Ramah: cry aloud at Beth-aven, after thee, O Benjamin. 9Ephraim shall be desolate in the day of rebuke: among the tribes of Israel have I made known that which shall surely be. 10The princes of Judah were like them that remove the bound: therefore I will pour out my wrath upon them like water. 11Ephraim is oppressed and broken in judgment, because he willingly walked after the commandment. 12Therefore will I be unto Ephraim as a moth, and to the house of Judah as rottenness.5.12 rottenness: or, a worm 13When Ephraim saw his sickness, and Judah saw his wound, then went Ephraim to the Assyrian, and sent to king Jareb: yet could he not heal you, nor cure you of your wound.5.13 king Jareb: or, the king of Jareb: or, the king that should plead 14For I will be unto Ephraim as a lion, and as a young lion to the house of Judah: I, even I, will tear and go away; I will take away, and none shall rescue him.
